Coronado 2012
Our week at the beach was fantastic... The traveling to get there not so great. Friday night, we arrived at the airport with plenty of time to catch our flight only to get ticked off with allegiant airlines when they almost busted the wheels off of Tim's bag trying to get it to fit in the carry on size check. Urg! We get settled down and take a good look at Macy.... She is starting to get some weird looking red spots all over her body. Tim and I both look at each other and start hoping that it isn't chicken pox. Not too long later, our flight is delayed. Adding to our frustration our flight was already late and we were flying into LA and had a two and a half hour drive to San Diego after we landed.
Finally, we get in the air and land in LA around midnight. (two hours after we were scheduled to land). Gathering our multitude of bags we make the trek through the airport to get our rental car. Stand in line for almost two hours to get our car and head to San Diego.... An extremely long night as we pulled into our hotel at 4:30 a.m.
Saturday we spent the day at the beach with all of Tim's family. It was our only day that everyone was in San Diego together.
Macy had a blast playing in the waves.
Tim and Macy made a happy man instead of a sand castle
The girls loved playing in the sand with grammy and papa.
Uncle Matt and Aunt Kelsey
Uncle Nate... the pizza delivery man. Syd had an awesome nap on the beach!
Four square paddle ball on the beach.
If you look close you can see the remains of Macy's spottedness. It got really bad on Sunday. She looked like a little mutant child with red lesions. Luckily Uncle Paul is a PA and assured us that it was just a rash as a result of the virus that she had had on Wednesday (when she puked and fell asleep on the stairs at home).
The Schmidt Clan.
Sunday afternoon we spent at the Mormon Battalion in San Diego.
Macy and her cousins made bricks, panned for gold, and washed clothes the old fashioned way.
Ava, Brody, Eli, Macy, Amelia, Aiden hanging out in the covered wagon.
Cousins... Aiden, Eli, Ava, Amelia, Ivy, Macy, and Lucy
Macy, Amelia, Aiden, Eli, Lucy, and Ava.
Taking a walk to go to the park for minute to win it games.
Macy and Syd found some new friends in Uncle Matt and Aunt Kelsey. They're her lasagne buddies now too. Uncle Matt is the Lasagne King, Kelsey is the Lasagne Queen, and Macy is the Lasagne Princess.
Mike and Paul fighting over a bowl of M&Ms; Mike climbing a tree;, and Jim and Tim trying to get empty toilet paper rolls through the hula hoops backwards.
Uncle Matt and Kelsey and Uncle Matt and Becca.
My sweet little girl.
Uncle Paul, Sheri, and Big Brodie.
Roasting marshmallows and making smores on the beach.

Pedicures with the girls (Kelsey, Becca, Sheri, and I) while the boys went golfing.
Tuesday everyone split up and went to various amusement parks. We hit up SeaWorld! Macy loved Shamu and we saw two of his shows.
We saw all of the shows, rode the kiddy rides, and had a blast at the block party.
Macy and Tim dancing with Shamu.
Happy girl at SeaWorld.
Tim went home with Becca and Matt Thursday morning (to go the Academy of LDS Dentist Conference in Provo) while the girls and I stayed until Friday night. Thursday after seeing them off, Jim, Rosalyn, Sarah and me and the girls, went to the San Diego Zoo.
We went to on a 45 minute bus tour of the grounds that gave us an awesome view of most of the animals.
The girls and I sitting by the Schimdt Spotted Monkey. Had to have a picture with one of our kind.
The girls loved the zoo! One of their favorite places to go when we are on vacation.
Friday morning we didn't have too much time before the girls and I had to leave for LA to catch our flight home but we had a wonderful walk through The Hotel Del and hit up the candy store for some snacks on the road.

Our week was awesome and we love spending time with our family.
The trip home wasn't so awesome. Checking our flight status, I left four and a half hours before our original scheduled departure knowing I had lots to do before getting on the plane. Checking the flight status as I drove, my flight kept getting delayed and then was back on time. About twenty minutes into my two and a half hour drive, I got stuck in traffic just outside of San Diego. There was nothing I could do but worry. A few minutes later, Macy started crying that her tummy hurt and within 30 seconds had thrown up in the rental car. Seriously! I didn't know how this could get much worse. 45 minutes later, traffic started to clear up and I took off. We made it to the rental car return somehow on fumes (the gas light turned on about 20 miles from the airport) just over an hour before our flight was scheduled to depart. Luckily, I had an awesome attendant who helped me grab my two carseats, two huge bags, and two kids. (I know I was crazy.... never again am I traveling that far with two little kids by myself).
We made it to the check-in counter somehow, started to relax, go to pull out my driver's license to get checked in and realize that Tim had my driver's license in Utah (from while we were at SeaWorld) and got even more concerned. Now what? I was worried that the attendant was turn us away and I would have to catch the next flight out (which wasn't until Monday)... A really nice gal, told me that it would be okay and wanted to know what else I had for ID on me. Looking through my wallet, I pull out my Costco card, (the only photo ID I had) a credit card, and health insurance cards. I really have no idea how we got through on those but we made it!
Hurrying, our flight was on time again we grabbed some food and got settled into start boarding our flight when they made an announcement that our plane had a flat tire and was delayed. Three hours of entertaining two little kids in the airport later, we boarded and both girls were asleep in ten minutes.
Thank goodness for good friends, Joy picked us up at the airport at 10:30 p.m. and we started the hour and a half drive back to Moses Lake. Within 5 miles of getting on the road, my emergency brake light started freaking out. The light was flash at me, then go dim, and turn off. Needless to say, I was saying prayers the whole way home to make it safely.
It was an eventful ride home and I can now say, I can't have a worse trip home ever again.
