Peek-a-boo, Patty Cake and Bennettisms

Skylar has developed a love for Patty Cake and we finally got it on video last night. If you start saying Patty Cake she starts clapping her hands. That is what she is doing in the picture above. You are also almost guaranteed a smile if you play peek-a-boo. (Though I can't prove it because I can't get it on film. I am too slow). She also really wants to move. She is constantly rocking. The other day she was sitting in the living room while I was making dinner and she had pooped, but I needed to quickly finish dinner. By the time I got to her to change her diaper she had rocked so much, poop had jumped out of the back of her diaper and onto the floor. Oh the joys of parenthood! We tell her daily it is a good thing she is so cute.
Bennett and his Dad got a short cut (hair cut) this week. Bennetts Grandma asked him who cut his hair and he said "Mike the shortcutter." Which made me think it might be fun to share some of what we call Bennettisms with you. I finally started writing them down. I keep a list on the fridge to add to frequently.

Bennettisms.......

  • Icicles = icy colds
  • Head to toe = Hop to toe
  • Electricity = lightricity
  • Recognize/Remember = remeckernize ie. We were pulling into Goodland this summer and Bennett announced that he "remeckernizes this place!"
  • Talking about the barking dogs at Grandma & Grandpa Jensen's " Yeah Grandma has some dogs she wants to shoot at."
  • Under his breath at the dinner table regarding his mom's cooking " Pray, Pray, Pray, not to say something bad."
  • While watching a K-State game with his Dad " Dad the Wildcats aren't just good they're Sonic good."
  • Looking at the mail " Hey Dad Visa; Life takes Visa!"

The funny thing about the last two is he really doesn't watch much tv. He is just really impacted by commercials I guess. He cracks us up daily.

Easter 2008

We had a great Easter. We started the weekend out at church with Easter for kids. The kids had a great time dying eggs, making windsocks, and playing with friends. Sunday there was an egg hunt after church and dinner at Grandma & Grandpa Jensen's.
Skylar is growing like crazy! She is more and more independent everyday. She tries to keep up with her big brother and sister.

Spring Break

We started off Spring Break with a parade and 10k race. Matt ran his 1st 10k in the Aggieville St. Patricks day race! He did a great job and we were all very proud of him. What means the most I think is that he wants to do it again! The kids are enjoying the time off from school and had a fun time playing with cousins for a couple days at Grandma &Grandpa's. We also enjoyed the weather at the zoo one afternoon.
Ok, the Schoenbeck family is moving into the 21st century! We now have a blog! We hope you all enjoy reading about our activities.
