Walking in a Winter Wonderland
The girls have come to love the snow! It was so sweet to see them stop and look at the snow on the tree and all around them after presc one day!
On versus In
I told Alexa that her raisins would probably be pretty good if she put them on her peanut butter sandwich. I walked away and came back to find this. She apparently knows the difference between on and in better than I do!
Potato Heads!
The girls have both loved playing with the potato head toys at presc. We have talked several times about getting some for them, but decided to let them have that toy at presc and others at home. Leave it to Cece to fill the gap! She texted me one morning asking if we wanted some. The girls were beyond excited when I pulled them out after Thanksgiving. Happy early Christmas to them!
Fire Station Field Trip
One of the favorite field trips last year was going to the fire station. This year, the fire station field trip was highly anticipated! Alexa's favorite book is "Spark the Fire Fighter," and she wants to be a fire fighter! At presc, one of the kids brought fire fighter hats for all of the kids in the class. We were in the car, ready to go when she realized she didn't have it with her. Luckily, Scott took the afternoon off and was able to run back in and get it for her...she was thrilled!
They got to climb into an ambulance and have a chat with a real fireman! He was sitting right next to Alexa.
He even helped her out!
Rachel listened very closely to everything they said. She learned so much that day and we have heard all about fire safety ever since!
Miss Amy helped them climb into the fire truck to check things out.
They both thought it was pretty neat!
Alexa is so little that the bumper on the fire truck is just above her head!
Both girls loved everything they got to see! Much worth every moment of anticipation!

Ariel
It is always so fun to see princesses at the grocery store! This was several weeks ago but the girls are still talking about seeing Ariel at Lee's!
A Window in the Mouth
Rachel was super excited to loose her first tooth. A few weeks ago, she lost her second!
I had just tried to twist it out before we started getting ready for bed but she wanted no part in the pain. I figured we would try again tomorrow...no rush. I flossed her teeth then started brushing. Apparently, the tooth was ready because it fell out while I was brushing her teeth! I showed her and she was so excited she started giggling again, then moved onto singing "All I Want for Christmas is My Teo Front Teeth!" We finished getting ready for bed with Alexa checking all of her teeth after I brushed them.
As you can see, all of her teeth are still present and Rachel was ecstatic to use her tooth fairy pouch again!
Mommy Time
The girls have come to love & cherish the time with me while the other is at school. They even tell people we are having "Mommy Time," while we are out running our errands. This day, we went to Alexa's favorite store...the DI! I was looking for something for a project when I turned to see this smiling face!
Reverence Begins with Me
Alexa has had awesome Nursery leaders this year! She was so reverent one Sunday that she came home with a sticker, and the pride in that little girl was bursting at the seams! I don't know how many times she showed off her sticker while walking down the hall after church. Then, she requested a picture once we got home!
Happy 85th!
In preparation for a birthday party, the girls had the chance to learn how to make banana pudding, just the way Mom used to make it.
Alexa was in charge of the bananas and learned how to cut using a butter knife. Now, anytime she has a banana, she wants it out of the peel and with a fork so she can cut it herself! She layered the bananas on top of the pudding ever so carefully.
Rachel was in charge of the pudding and the Nilla wafers. I think this was actually the harder job because I wouldn't let her eat the Nilla wafers dipped into the pudding!
They did a great job and it tasted just like we all remembered it tasting. They were so proud to present it to the birthday boy!
