Took a trip to Utah

We visited the zoo

The boys petted an armadillo and a huge snake

the zoo had a fun splash pad that the kids loved. Their wore their swim suits so we were prepared for the hot day. Xander hung out with me in the shade.

We were lucky enough to visit some good friends after we went to the ogden temple open house

Went to the Davis County Fair where we ate a frozen lemonade, some kettle corn, Jacob rode some carnival rides and an ELEPHANT! Landon slept for most of it,but then woke up to play some carnival games and win a couple goldfish.

We also went to Thanksgiving Point, where we visited the new museum of Natural Curiosity. It was HUGE and AMAZING! Best children's museum I've ever been to

Hello August.

Yes, we are alive! Since my last post Landon turned 3, Scott graduated Medical School and is a Doctor now. We moved to Pocatello to start a family medicine residency, we had a baby names Xander, and have been doing lots of fun summer adventures.

We have discovered a cute little ice cream shop that serves Farr's ice cream for $1. We have gone there more than any place in pocatello so far. The kids favorite ice cream is Playdough.
We got a sandbox...
we found American Falls and went to the beach and bought a kayak

We did some preschool

Cooked my first completely homemade peach pie from our small peach tree in our backyard.
Watched these kids grow up...

Jacob turned 5!

Jacob had a fun little friends birthday party. I had big plans to make an elaborate dinosaur cake, but he really wanted this simple one with kit-kats so I guess it made life easier for both of us.

I can't believe Jacob is 5 already. He is such a sweetie. He was curious on his birthday why he still felt like 4. He asked me when he was going to start growing, because when he is 5 is supposed to be bigger.

Halloween

Halloween was fun! The kids had a good time trick or treating around, and got too much candy of course. Jacob had a preschool party. He is the Captain America in the back. We decorated our house with all of their Halloween creations. We sure did miss having Scott with us though! There are a few random pictures at the bottom of Jacob and Landon getting their first pony ride and Jacob in his new suit. He looks so handsome.

Jacob will be 5 next week. I realize I like looking back on posts to help me remember what they could do at certain ages, because my memory is not that great. So.. Jacob right now still loves legos. He is really into superheros. He is very good at reading. He knows all the sight words they need to know for Kindergarten plus some. I know its because he can focus so well on things. He can count to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. He learned to count by 100 to 1,000 he thought that was fun. He knows his basic addition and subtraction. He is learning place value like tens and ones. We need to work on his spelling, but he is good at writing his letters and writing a sentence. He can color about as good as me. He stays in the lines really well. He is good at cleaning up the whole playroom. Most the time he is good at sharing and making Landon happy.
Landon is 2 1/2. He has been watching the letter factory lots and knows most of the letters and their sounds. He knows almost all the colors. He is starting to recognize numbers. He can count to 11 good and then to 20 he gets a few confused. He loves to sing songs and play with Jacob. He has discovered scissors and likes to just sit and cut up paper. He is starting to draw. He likes to draw spiders. He will draw a circle with lines coming out of it. His speech is very good. I think he picked up talking so well with the help of Jacob. It helps to have an older brother talking to you all day.
They love to both play with play-dough. Do art projects, go to the Y, and do preschool.
