Halloween Craftyness
This year I made a Halloween countdown so we could do something fun every day. Most of them were kids crafts, some were going to Halloween things or pumpkin patches. It was lots of fun!
Here we made marshmallow ghosts, q-tip skeletons, a haunted house with door/window flaps, candy corn with torn up paper.
We also made hand print spiders, pasta pumpkins, and I let Landon hold a paint brush. He is getting better. This was stencil art where you put a paper down and paint over it and then you take the stencil off and it shows an outline of what you painted.
We then went for a walk to pick up a bunch of different leaves that had fallen from the tree. We learn about the seasons and why the leaves fall and then we made our own tree with real leaves, we painted with leaves, and we put leaves under our paper and colored over it to see what the leaf looked like.
We Made a Frankenstein, painted a pumpkin using corn syrup and food coloring so it had a shiny glaze, and made crazy monsters

Halloween 2012
We went to lots of different Halloween activities this year. Our branch put on a Trunk-or-Treat in our complex, we went to the YMCA for a healthy halloween, we even hit up a halloween party when we went to the grocery store, we went to a our friend kims annual halloween lunch with the Jacob and his few friends, Went to a friends Halloween party, and of course Trick or Treating (well beggers night is what they call it in Iowa and its actually the day before Halloween
Jacob and Landon were the cutest little superheroes EVER and they literally wore there costume for days. Jacob still tries to sneak his costume on, he says he needs to just see how it looks real quick.
Prettycool Preschool Pumpkin Party
Jacob had little Halloween party with his preschool group. Our Friend Danna was in charge so of course it was well planned out and amazing! They played games, did crafts, ate food, including mummy pizzas and witches brew, and danced and were crazy and silly. Gotta love those kids!
The carving of the Pumpkins
We had two pumpkins to carve so we chose to carve them into a spider-man face and a batman symbol, since that is what the boys were for Halloween. It turned out better than we thought since we aren't very experience pumpkin carvers. Jacob had fun getting his hands dirty. We baked the seeds afterwards and had a little roasted pumpkin seed snack. YUM!
walnut woods
We finally made it to the Walnut Woods State Park. It is supposedly filled with black walnuts that you're not suppose to take. I think we saw like 2. We took a little hike and played by the river and on the playground. We found this cool tree that had been struck by lightening and was hollowed out. Jacob fit perfectly inside it.

The Pumpkin Ranch
So I think this is my 11th post in the last day. Yay! I'm finally caught up. You might have go the the next page to see them all.
So we convinced Scott to go to a Pumpkin patch with us. We bought a groupon so we were kind of forced to go. He wasn't too excited, especially when he realized it took 45 min to drive there. He ended up loving it though! They had a huge play area for the kids, along with a big pumpkin bounce house Jacob tried out. There was a corn maze attached that was the cut out of Romney and Obamas heads. Jacob picked some corn, we went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch and picked out a perfect pumpkin for all of us. Landons
was about the size of his fist so he could hold it in one hand.
