You know the funny thing about being a stay at home mom ((not that i'm a true stay at home mom since i do still have a part time job), is that before you are one, you think it's going to be so easy and you will have all this time to be crafty and your house will look emaculate because you have time to clean, organize, bake, and cook elaborate dinners. but you know what?! that doesn't happen. don't get me wrong, being a mom is the most amazing experience i could ever ask for, but even one baby takes so much of your time. especially when they constantly want to be held, or entertained or fed. suddenly you realize you dont have time to work out and try new hairstyles and do all the laundry and get yourself all beautiful everyday. somedays you are lucky to just get a shower.
it is such a joy to be able to watch my daughter grow and learn so many new things and interact with her little world around her. it is true what they say about time just flying by! i can't believe it's been 8 months already. i am excited to see my baby grow and i am so lucky to be her mommy :)

New Family :)
Hello blogging world! Whether anyone is even still following my blog would be a miracle since I obviously suck at updating! Anyways, we added a new little addition to our fun little family. Baya was born on June 10 and has been a joy in our lives ever since. She is such a good baby and makes it so easy being her mom! I can't believe it's been 2 months already. She is healthy and happy and is already showing her feisty personality (she must get that from her mom). It's been an adjustment staying at home but I wouldn't have it any other way. Scott has been such an amazing husband and father through this whole transition into family life. He works so hard to support us and is so great with Baya. He jumped in with both feet and it just melts my heart to see him hold her. I might just have to brag about having the most beautiful family in the whole entire universe :) Hopefully I'll be better about updating now that I have more time at home :)

Yup... there is a baby in there!
Sooooo I'm sure the word has already been spread, but it's true... we are expecting!!! My due date is June 17! It's kinda a ridiculous thought to think Scott and I will be parents, but we are beyond stoked!! It will be such a fun new adventure in our lives. As of today, I am 14 1/2 weeks. Hooray! The first trimester was pretty easy. I was nauseous, but with my celiac I am pretty much always nauseous so no one even suspected :) Although weeks 13-14 have been a little more sickness and misery filled. haha. I'm hoping that it doesn't linger too much longer. It's a good thing we get to have an adorable little Holtry at the end of it! I might be a tad better at updating this blog, but we'll see :) oooooo and here's some pictures! i know i know, it's about time!

New picture!
Yup, I updated my picture :) It was taken this summer at beautiful Bear Lake. Aren't we just adorable?! I had a little bit of extra time of my hands since my hubby was in South Dakota for 6 days. Seriously. It was the first time we have been apart since we have been married and it was pretty much torture. haha. It wasn't even like oh just a quick weekend trip, it was 6 full nights!! I had a few things to distract me, but still missed him like crazy. Good thing he is home now. Anyways... we are going to Lake Powell next week and I'm so excited! I really really really hope that the weather stays decently warm since it's been freaking raining like ridiculous this week. That would be an interesting trip if it doesn't calm down. It will be a nice vacation though. Sooooo that's our lives :) Enjoy staring at our attractive faces!

summary of the summer
Hello blogging world! So once again it's been a ridiculous amount of time since my last post. I'm not very patient/good at uploaded pictures so this might just be words for now. Our summer was great! Definitely not long enough since it was snowing til June and started getting cold and rainy the end of August! Oh well. It's not like I got a break from my routine of work and wifehood. Scott enjoyed his break from school. He is back to start his major in Urban Planning and loving it. It's always easier when you actually enjoy your classes. Which means I'm back to editing/writing papers. We went on a cruise to Mexico to celebrate our anniversary, went to Bear Lake, saw my brother and dad graduate with their Master's degrees, welcomed back my in-laws from their mission, got a new calling as the Stake Mission Prep teachers, and enjoyed being married :) I guess I just feel like our lives aren't super exciting so it's hard for me to blog about the boring everyday-ness of our lives :) anyways... just thought I would say hi to whoever may read this! Until next time, caio!

sick day
So I have this personal struggle with taking sick days. Unless I am laying on my deathbed, I just push through my illness and go about my day the same ol same ol. The last time I took a sick day, I couldn't get out of bed without puking. With that said, the last couple days I have been feeling like CRAP. My sinues, my stomach, my intestines, my head, my throat, it's been rough. Keeping me awake all night long and tosing and turning. I was kinda having a hard time breathing so Scott and I decided to FINALLY go to the doctor. Can I just say that I hate the doctor. Seems like everytime I go to the doctor, they don't tell me anything I don't already know. And then I pay them for pretty much nothing. And we can't totally afford random doctor visits since our deductible is ridiculously high. So because of the breathing thing, I got nervous that maybe it was something more serious, like pnemonia or something so we decided to take a trip to urgent care. It was kinda funny actually because they asked me what we were there for and I just kept listing things. I have a sinus infection. That's it. Oh and she gave me a breathing treatment to help open my lungs up. Scott convinced me to stay home from work today so that I can recover. I fought and fought and fought and fought, but he insisted it was better for me to stay home. So I called my boss and told her I couldn't come in. I feel like I'm such a pansy. Like I can't handle being sick. And then I woke up feeling pretty good this morning and wishing I could go to work. But here I sit. Feeling decently healthy, and bored out of my mind. And time is just dragging on and on.
SOOOOOO I thought I would update the blog. Although there isn't much to update. Scott is in his next semester. Working on his portfolio for his Architecture application due in March, so we are starting to get nervous, anxious, excited. I'm still working, Scott is still working. That's our life. I'm not promising to be better at this blogging thing, but I promise to be entertaining when I do blog :) Until next time... caio!
