Clarks Love Most!

That was the theme of our family reunion last week. The Clark family knows how to throw an awesome party. We did just that over the fourth of July weekend. The reunion was filled with BBQing, swimming, slip and slides, Stadium of Fire, Provo parade, family olympics, rafting down the Provo river (an absolute blast!), Sundance chair lift, pony rides and lots of good food and company. It's crazy to see how big our family has gotten. I love seeing all the beautiful babies my cousins have produced! We had a great time and always love being around my amazing grandma. She brought us all together and is the life of the party even when she's just sitting and watching us all. #clarkslovemost

My parents upon arriving in Utah the night before the reunion. They insisted on kissing the sleeping babies.

The Best Five Years...

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life! This guy makes marriage seem easy as pie. A few things I love about Scott...
  • He is a peace maker. Scott has always disliked contention and always tries to keep the peace.
  • He hates seeing people sad and always tries to make you laugh when you're feeling down.
  • He loves his babies  and getting on the ground to play with them!
  • He is so talented. Scott loves to play piano, guitar and sing. He is awesome at all three and loves to serenade us with music each evening.
  • Scott is so firm in his testimony of the gospel. He always makes choices based on a gospel centered mind set.
  • He loves to have fun! This may be a bad thing at times (golf, volleyball, mountain biking, softball etc... on a regular basis). But he also loves to do fun things as a family.
  • Scott is very driven. He thrives at work and in all projects he takes on because he driven and has a great work ethic.

These are just a few of the reasons I love this man. He loves to make us happy and we love that he is so easy to keep happy! Thanks for the past five years my darling.

We had a great anniversary dinner up Stien Erikson Lodge. Scott was thrilled to be there. Even though he doesn't look it in this pic;).

Little Ms. Sassy Pants...

Dear Little Ms. Sassy Pants (aka Scarlet),

The terrible two's have been in full swing since you were 18 months. Some of your favorite phrases include "go away", "Leave me alone, I'm sad", "You listen to me, mom!" and "Dad's the boss, but because I'm the boss, but because you're NOT the boss, mom". You melt down pretty quickly when told no. Sometimes, when you feel like you're being ignored, you take extreme measures. The other day that included painting your brother and my white rug in mascara. Sometimes you hurt my feelings to the point of tears.

BUT, Little Ms. Sassy Pants. You also melt my heart just as quickly. When you've made me sad you instantly want to fix it. You say things like "mommy, be happy". The other day you said "I just love you, honey" and "you're my favorite person". You tell me that I am your best friend. You love to help me cook and kiss each egg before I crack them in the morning. When I ask if you will share something with me or one of your friends, you (usually) say, "Um, sure!" in a sweet and chipper little voice. You love to sing and dance for your daddy and I. While you usually ask us NOT to join in, sometimes you let us sing with you;). You are the worlds best sister! Especially for your special little brother. You are so protective of him. This brings me so much comfort for the future. I know he will be watched over when you're around. You love to cuddle at night. When I tuck you in, you usually say "mom, you wanna cuddle me?!". I usually hop in your little bed and you ask "will you tell me a story". Usually you want to hear about Snow White or Sleeping Beauty and the witch. Once, when you were mad you said "I'm a mean witch, mom". I acted very sad and you quickly said "No, I'm a good little witch, mommy". Your obsession with witches cracks us up. YOUR quirky little personality has us laughing all the time. All the things that drive me crazy now, are things I think I will appreciate about you as you get older. I know you'll always stand up for what you believe, you'll be confident and you wont be afraid to be yourself. You are MY Little Ms. Sassy Pants. And I wouldn't change you for the world.

Let's talk June...

Catching up! And almost caught up.. Let's talk June! I'm going to start with my thoughts from looking at the pics of last month...

First of all, I was on a crazy diet in June. A diet that meant you could eat NO sugar (or even sweetners), NO flour and NO dairy. So basically nothing that makes you happy. Jk, it really was a pretty east diet. The food was delish and I learned how to cook in ways that are much better for our family. So it was great! BUT summer treats are the best. I would drool while watching Scarbug eat a summer ice cream cone, I coveted my friends as they sipped on diet coke. And Disney Land treats... DISNEY LAND TREATS! That almost did me in. But I stayed strong (yes, we went to Disney Land yet again. We are becoming a weird disney family. But we love it.).

June is the best month. It's before the summer holidays and caziness. June means lots of pool time, lots of dinners on the back porch, lots of playing at the park, lots of outdoor fun with friends. June also means the Orem Summerfest. We love the Orem Summerfest. We love the parade and carnival. We love the fireworks. We love it all.

June also brought us back to the Scera Shell Theater with grandma and grandpa Peterson. This is a little tradition we started last year. We go see an outdoor play and have a picnic with them. It's so fun. This year we saw Cinderella. Scarlett enjoyed it and so did we. Even though the cast wasn't the best we've seen ;).

June was a month to celebrate our newest nephew, Jaxson!! We love this boy to pieces. Kevin and Brig are the cutest first time parents. They are over the moon with happiness. He is one lucky boy! I am so excited that Welles will have another cousin close in age to be his buddy. They better stay close by! No moving away.

June brought the Lowe family back in town! We love when they come out to visit. We were able to get together with the Smiths and Lowes. Scott's best friends from high school. I love watching all the kids as they get grow. They all look like little mini me's of their daddies. Those Orem boys make some cute kids!

June also caused celebration for sweet Rhea. Her first birthday! That girl has brought a lot of happiness in her first little year. We LOVE you Rhea sunshine!!

Lastly, Scott decided to take us with him on a quick trip to southern CA. We didn't tell Scarlett and were so excited to see her reaction as we pulled up to Disney Land! We just knew she was going to freak out with giddy excitement since she has talked about it every day since our last trip back in April! We were a little disappointed when she looked at us and said "Let's go inside the castle". And that was it... She looked at us like "Okay, why are you filming me. Take me on rides already.". She had a blast. So did we. It's so fun to see how magical it is for her. Next time we'll just set our hopes a little lower about that first reaction;).

Super boy!

I love that she keeps this Jesus picture next to her. I find her cuddling it all the time!

Okay, I went to get a spray tan. After, I came home and fed Welles to sleep. Notice anything funny about his face?! Poor kid had a little orange beard...

May's Adventures...

The first glimpse of summer snuck up on us in May! And we weren't even disappointed in the slightest. We took a little trip down to St. George in May. We did this with Christiana and Madeleine. It was a fun, fast trip. There was lots of cousin fun and pool time involved on this trip. Again, no complaints.

Brynne graduated from high school in May!! Wooohooo. She is done with Orem High and starting at BYU in the fall. She was picked (out of many applicants) to speak at her graduation. She did an amazing job and we were so proud!

We are very excited to be involved with United Angels Foundation. Scott and I used to volunteer when we were dating for this amazing foundation. Little did we know that someday we would have a little angel of our own, and join as one of their many families. We were thrilled to participate in our first "Walk with Angels" this year. Many of our wonderful friends and family came and supported team "Wishing Welles". We are so lucky to have such a great group of cheerleaders in Welles life. It was such an emotional and touching experience.
