Baby Paisley

Have you met this chubby ball of adorableness?? This is my beautiful niece, Paisley Aleta Smith. She is probably the sweetest baby there ever was! Seriously, such a good babe. She is a great little eater (explains the luscious thighs!), a terrific little sleeper, and an AWESOME snuggle buddy. She makes me so excited (and anxious) for my little girl to come :), who by the way, is such a tease. Totally thought I wasn't going to make it to Summer's wedding because of all the contractions, and now that the wedding is over... Nothing! Anyways, just wanted to share a couple pics of the newest family babe.

Pisley has already claimed top bunck ;)

Snuggling her unborn cousin!

Sunday night was awesome. We decided that since our baby will be here soon, we had better get the Christmas stuff out. In reality, I always want to jump the gun for Christmas! But it sounded like a legitimate excuse, right? Anyways, we put on good old fashioned Christmas tunes, made pizza, opened up a bottle of sparkling cider and put up our few decorations :). It was fun, cozy and romantic. We won't be getting much alone time for a while, it felt perfect. After decorating we cuddled up to the fire and started a Christmas movie. The animated "Christmas Carol" is scary! Seriously, such a dark Disney movie. I made Scott change it, because it didn't feel Christmasy at all. So we watched last year's Glee Christmas episode. Good music, dumb show. Anyways, it was a perfect night. I love that husband of mine so much. Nothing is more fun than just hanging out, just the two of us. We have such a fun and goofy time. Couldn't pick a better best friend :)

37.5 Weeks... Almost there!

Super embarrassed about how messy our room is. But I thought this could be one of the last pics I take before she comes. My doc thinks she will be here early (80% effaced, dilated 1.5 cm... Sorry, gross.), so I snapped this last night. Super glam, right? Just trying to make sure she stays in through this weekend. Summer and Eldis get married on Sat! So excited for them :).

Cutest nephews in the world :)

Yes, I know, I'm biased. I think my nephews are the most loveable little guys out there.

Both are 16 months. Scott and I adore them.

Karma, be kind!

Can I get an angelic little guy just like this, please??

Ummm.....

I was going through a bunch of old pics last night. What a little angel on top, right?! I hope someday we get a little boy just like Scott. I love hearing family stories about his childhood. One of these days I need to document them. He sounds like the perfect little guy. I can only pray that his loving nature/well behaved-ness pays off, and we get one just like that. Heaven knows, if all of our kids turn out the way I was (as a child;))... Well, we'll have our hands full! I can just hear the words my mom used to frequently say to me, "I hope you have seven kids that are just like you!". Well mom, I hope we have a couple less kids, that are just like Scott, with one or two little Oakley's in there to keep us on our toes ;). Can't hardly wait to see our little girls personality develop! I kind of feel like there's a sassy side in there. A sweet side too :).

P.S. Don't let this post fool you. Scott turned out to be one heck of a tease for a brother!

Next thing you know....

Between two weddings (Summer and Eldis, my cousin Erica and Robby), a new niece (Christiana's baby paisley:)), Halloween, Thanksgiving, my parents coming to town twice, Brooke and Graham (Scott's sister and our nephew) coming out from DC, my baby showers, Mercedes and baby Vera visiting from CA, and finishing up the nursery, (all while working full time) I feel like these last 11 weeks will fly by! So many exciting things packed into these last couple of months. I love that it will keep my mind off of how uncomfortable I'm getting, and pass the time quickly. Next thing you know, she'll be here :)

Prepping

Getting ready for our baby girl has been such a fun/time consuming process. If you know me, you know I am a last minute kind of girl. Ask about my wedding, ask about my record of showering, drying my hair, and getting ready for church in 17 minutes (impressive, right?), ask about my 30 page paper that was due the next day (I knew about it for over a month), ask about that talk I gave when I was 16 where I played a church song (the entire song), on a boom box from the stand because I forgot to prepare my talk... yes, my parents were glaring at me. Point is, I ALWAYS wait until the last second to prepare. Not this time! You might find it shocking that I am so on the ball with prepping for her. I've had people tell me "don't worry too much about getting a nursery put together, or having everything. All she is going to need when she comes out is you!". Sweet? Yes. Realistic? Not for me. Maybe what they're saying is true, but lets face it, getting everything ready is way too much fun. It just gets me more excited to have her here. Picking a stroller was like picking out my wedding dress... Weird, I know. But that's how excited I get over everything. And surprisingly, Scott has been way into it too. He painted her room without my help at all! He even did a better job than I would have. I am obsessed with everything baby. Not because I'm in a hot panic about having a baby, no, it's just so fun. This baby is going to be spoiled, I swore I would never be one of those moms... Can't wait for her arrival:)

Thanks Mama Donna for the swing! Like Scott in the basketball shorts with the black church socks? Yeah, we keep it classy.

Daddy and uncle Justin bringing up the crib. Yeah we probably should have just put it together in the actual room... It was a beast getting through the door.

Found this little puppy on KSL for $30! This is the ad. I wanted to take that sweet TV too;)

What a good mommy :)

Waalaa, changing tabel!

28 Weeks and counting...

Getting bigger by the minute. This little girl is growing fast! She now weighs 2.2 lbs, and is about 14.8 inches long. This is all according to babycenter.com:) She's a mover and a shaker! Feeling her toss around in there is absolutely amazing. Even when it wakes me up at 3am, I get excited. The coolest/freakiest thing is seeing my stomach move. All of the sudden she'll either kick or punch me and I see a little ball on the side of my belly! Violent, I know. It's the coolest thing seeing her move:) Can't wait to meet this feisty little girl!

It's a girl!

So back 9 weeks ago, this is how we told our family "it's" actually a "she"! We had all the cupcakes filled with pink frosting so that when they bit into them, they knew it was a girl. I copied my friend Brittney Winder. It was a fun idea. Turned out really cute :)

Finding out it was a girl was really cool. I was so sure it was a boy! I just really felt like I had a little guy in there. Don't know why, but I was sure of it. Scott thinks I believed that silly ring test... Which I kind of did. It worked for Christiana! Or maybe it's because I always wished I had an older brother so I thought maybe I could/would have a boy first. Anyways, I was way off base! So Madeleine came with us to the ultra sound. They said no cameras allowed, but she snuck some footage with the video camera on my phone. Sly little thing! When the tech told us it was a girl, I was shocked. I asked her to check again, and again! When she could see my doubt, she put the little scanner thing (whatever it's called!) on her belly. She (the tech) is having a boy so she was able to show me the difference. There was quite a difference ;). It was cute seeing Scott so excited. I think he secretly wanted a girl. On our way home, he said "do you think she'll be a daddy's girl?". Adorable :). So there you have it, bring on the ribbons and bows!

Preggers :)

Pretty much everyone knows this by now. I am 27 weeeks along! We are having a blast getting ready for our baby. It's been really fun to see Scott so excited for his little girl. He's really going to be an amazing daddy. December could not come soon enough!

I am going to start actually documenting from here on out. I like the idea of using my blog as sort of a journal. Not an incredibly personal journal, but a good way to keep track of our families events. So here a few pics. These are pretty old. The last one is me at 21 weeks. I need to take more!

Blog-tarted

Trying to be a better blogger. Seriously, I really do want to! I am going to get my camera fixed this week (which is the main reason I haven't blogged in forever). Lets be honest, who wants to read a blog without pictures?? I need help figuring out a few things. Don't know why blogspot is so complicated (or maybe I'm just retarted). How the heck do I change the color of my font on my friend list? Call me if you know!
