brute

Matthew qualified today for the 2015 Strong Man Competition, Toddler Division. At just 18 months old he'll probably be the youngest in his class.

All kidding aside, I totally wonder about his future athletic abilities. This boy is strong.

happy half

You know how they make everyone feel special in preschool, rockin' the half-birthday thing. Well, today was Andrew's designated day. He lead the party parade, wore a crown and proudly shared his much talked about birthday brownies with his class. Rock star, he is.

Let's just be clear, while Andrew IS a rock star and DID write his own "A" on the brownie shown above, I am the one who did all of the "A" making below.

Salmon, prime rib, dining out.
Kitchen gear, outerwear, cards, flowers.
Visiting, Skyping, celebrating, enjoying.
Realizing blessings, regaining perspective.

Feeling loved.

Winter seems synonymous with snow and cold. And it should be. Because it's winter.

Despite all the overreacting, the naysayers, and complaints from the locals, we've certainly been enjoying every inch of white stuff that has covered our land. Records broken, schools closed, bring it on. The adventure and excitement of our winter storms and cold air masses has far outweighed the inconvenience of covered roads, extra bundling and daily togetherness.

Winter? We are glad you're here. Snow on.

school spirit

Happy Lutheran Schools Week, take two. Our celebration was delayed due to three days of school-closing cold last week. We love our school, and we love celebrating this special week with our school family.

Crazy hair, crazy wear. Designed by Morgan. Of the 23 kids in her class, I have to say, Morgan looked liked one of the craziest. I took one look back as I walked away this morning, and saw her giggle with friends as they inspected her outfit. Despite her uncertainty walking in to school this morning, I dare say Morgan loved all the attention she received in the classroom.
