I'm a big kid now!

Isn't this little bum just so cute?
I'm so proud of this little guy who has started potty training on his own. I'm definitely not pushing this, especially with Christmas travels still to come.  But I don't think it'll be very long before we're done buying diapers for this kid!

Ward Christmas Party

At our ward Christmas party this year, they had the primary children sing a few songs. It was fun to see her up there. She kept looking for us to make sure we were watching her sing.

I thought Ella was going to be better this year, but still not a big fan of Santa. But maybe a little progress. She said on the car ride home that Santa is a nice guy.

Cole was kicking his legs so hard when Scott tried to place him on Santa's lap. Maybe Ella shouldn't have gone first.

Removed Foriegn Object

Cole had to have surgery to remove the polly pocket shoe out of his nose. The ER doctor couldn't get it out and the X-rays showed nothing there. But after two weeks of continual discharge, no treasure in his diapers, and mother's intuition...
I knew it was still up his nose.

Surgery went way better than last time getting his tubes in. They let me come in while he was still waking up and so I got to hold him all wrapped up in a blanket while he was woke up.  Really quick surgery too. The doctor said it was way lodged up there, and no way it was coming out on its own.

Here's what the ENT doctor gave me before I went in to see Cole.

As you can see it is really tiny. Smaller than a penny.
Please let this be the last time for surgery for this little guy...
at least for a long time!

Formal Progressive Dinner

We decided it would be fun to do a formal Progressive Dinner with some good friends in our ward! It was really fun moving house to house for drinks, appetizer, dinner and dessert & games & gift exchange.

Thanks for all you friends who made it a great night!
(And thanks to Brittany for letting us barrow all your dresses! That was so fun dressing up!)

{shoe up the nose}

While out on date night Friday night, we were called with some startling news just as we were walking out of the restaurant: Cole had put a polly pocket shoe up his nose and they couldn't get it out!  So, Scott to the rescue, figures he'll pull out his dental equipment and do some nasal surgery
 on this poor little guy...

Cole was totally freaking out and crying and thrashing as hard as can be. I can only imagine someone poking and proding up my nose...

So, after doing this a while, we realize this baby is now out of sight and too far to be reached with dental tools, so off to the ER we went at 10pm... and there we were until 1:30am to have the doctor strap his arms behind his back and tie him down to the bed so he couldn't get his arms free, and then not be able to find anything there! So, the exrays didn't show any sign of a soft plastic in the film; we didn't think it would.  And, now it's the best part of all: the waiting game and scavenger hunt in his diaper! Fun times!

New 'Do

This is me and the kids before Stake Conference last Sunday. The kids matched so I wanted to get a picture of them. It was hard to get one, since our camera's battery was dying, but the kids are actually laughing here. It's hard to see my new haircut here... but here's a pic for my sisters who requested to see it, since they live so far away!

Notre Dame Game

Scott and his buddies from our ward took a man's weekend and spent the night in Chicago,  ate some deep dish pizza, toured the amazing city,  went to an amish buffet the next day on their way to South Bend for the Notre Dame game against Utah.

He had a good time goofing around with his buddies: Brad, Preston and Chucky.

Dancing Qeen

Ella LOVES to put on dancing videos and her big pink tutu (thanks Nana!) and dance forever around the family room!

Happy Halloween 2010

We had so much fun this year for Halloween and dressing up. We went to the Beck's Bonfire party where we all dressed up, and cooked hot dogs over the fire.
Here I am as "I Dream of Genie" with Scott as my "master" or leiutenant, whatever his name is. I'm trying to do that one move where she puts her arms out and bobs her head for magic. Can't really tell in a picture though!

Cole loved his purple dragon costume. He kept pointing to his hood to people would see it.

Ella was not just an ordinary Native American, she was "Pocahantas"

We also went to our Ward Truck-or-Treat and the kids loved getting candy in the parking lot. And then we also went to our dental friend's Halloween Party as pictured above. Scott was working that day, and didn't make it, but it was lots of fun! We were a little "halloweened-out" by the end of all the parties that we weren't really excited for the actual Halloween night. My kids loved handing out the candy this year, and never asked why they weren't dressed up.

Joyschool Fieldtrip: Pumpkin Patch

This month for Joyschool our field trip we took a trip to the Waterman's Farm Market, but basically a huge pumpkin patch with hay rides, carnival rides, corn maze, pumpkin-eating dinosaur show, pony rides, petting farm, market and more! It was awesome! We did the "Preschool Field Trip" option and got in for free, with the kids only $4 which included all of the above attractions plus $2 pony rides. It was perfect for our group!

Ella, the horse lover, had been talking about riding a pony for over a week before when I told her we were going to this pumpkin patch.  She was a little disappointed that she only got to ride it around the little circle area once, but went to the side to pet it for a while afterwards. Cole even got a ride on it!

Here we are taking the hay ride to the pumpkin patch where the field trip groups got to pick out a free pumpkin! Yay!

Cole wanted every one he saw!

The kids really loved the petting animal area. They could pick up the straw on the floor and the goats would feed it out of their hands. They couldn't get enough of them!

This is the pumpkin-eating dinosaur show that played this loud scary dinosaur roar just like the Jurassic Park movies. The kids were actually really scared, and I had to keep telling them
it wasn't real.

Ella was so cute how she gave Kiera a hug because she was scared... such brave girls!

Right before leaving we visited the market for a treat to go home with. Ella picked a carmel apple sucker, yummy!

These pumpkins were HUGE, perfect little benches to sit on while demolishing lollipops!

The kids had so much fun, and we'll probably visit again next year! They slept so soundly when we got home from a whole day of fun-filled activities!
