Lucky Day's Kindergarten Graduation

Lucky is my third child to finish Kindergarten, but my first child to have a graduation. I think it is a little extravagant, but the kids were so adorable in their caps and gowns.

Lucky's best friend, S is in his class at school and church. They have a great time together.

Lucky's teacher was gushing about him. He is an awesome reader and all around smarty!

Dusty's teacher loved him and was impressed with how well he did in math. I overheard his classmate say, "Dusty, you were like the nicest kid in class. You were never mean to anyone, ever!" :)

Ned's teacher said he was the best reader in all of 5th grade. He was on the A/B honor roll for the last semester. He also came in 3rd place in the science bowl and received an iPod shuffle for it!

All of the boys did a great job adapting to their new school this year. We are so proud of our kind, smart boys!

Buttercup's Dance Recital

Buttercup loved her dance class. Every Thursday she was so excited to get dressed to go. The first few times were hard because she would just hang on to my leg and cry. I decided that she just needed to not see me so I went into the hallway. That helped a lot. From what I hear, she got better about being there each week.

We did a rehearsal a few days before the recital and I was afraid that she would hang on my leg again, but she didn't! I was so happy!

I thought for sure she would cry and come running to me at the recital. Again, I was surprised and she stayed with her class. I was so proud.

This is how the recital went:

Warming up.

I'm a Little Tea Pot.

Shake Your Sillies Out.

The Hokey Pokey.

Fly to Your Heart.

Yes, she just stood there. THE WHOLE TIME! Still, I was so proud. It was a huge deal that she didn't come running to me or El Guapo.

Right at the end her shoe came off her heel and she didn't know how to tell anyone, so this happened:

But once I fixed it she went right back to where she was supposed to be.

The only part she cared to take part in was when they did Ring Around the Rosies. She seemed to love that. She actually loved it all, but she liked that enough to actually participate.

I am so grateful for my sweet, talented friend that taught the class. It was a dream come true to have my daughter in dance. The plan is to start up again in the fall. I can't wait!
