That face!

These pictures are from almost 2 weeks ago, but I still wanted to post them. During Mother's day weekend, all of Aaron's family got together. Jake is the youngest of 10 cousins and he wanted to play with all the big kids outside. One cousin ran into Jake's head with his bike. That is where the big purple bump on the middle of his forehead came from. Then Jake fell and hit the concrete and scratched his nose and the side of this forehead. He still didn't want to settle down. He wanted to be outback playing with the other kids. The first 2 pictures our from the night this all happened. The other 2 pictures are from a couple days later. His poor little face. It looked so sad. At church everyone was asking what happened to his face. He is just a little boy and he loves to run and play. A week later his face was all healed and he looks much better.

Swimming in the backyard

It was really hot here last week, so we decided to set up Jake's swimming pool. He loved it. At first he was a little nervous, but after a few minutes he was all over the pool. I didn't get a very good picture of him, just because he won't hold still. But thats ok, he was having such a good time.

We have been here in Nampa for over a month now and we were given callings last Sunday. My new calling is to be Gospel Doctrine teacher. I was so shocked and totally overwhelmed. I taught my first lesson yesterday and it seemed to go ok. I was just so nervous. Aaron was called as the Priest quorom advisor. I think that he will love working with the young men.

We planted our first garden this past weekend. We planted tons of different kinds of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, bell peppers, and jalenpanos. So we will see how this goes. I am excited to make fresh salsa this summer. I am sure we will have plenty of tomotates for that.

Jake

Jake had his 2 year appt today. He is a very healthy little boy. Jake weighs 27.5 pounds which puts him in the 50th percentile. His height is a little different. Most of the first year of his life he was in the 75th of higher percentile. Now he is in the 10th percentile. He doesn't seem that short to me. The doctor predicted his height just taking Aaron and my height into account and guessed that Jake would be 5'11", which isn't too short. But also all the men on both sides our family and tall men. Aaron's dad and brother are both tailer than him too. So I am not too convinced with this doctor's prediction. Jake did have one shot today, but seemed to do okay. As soon as we left the exam room he was fine.

Everything else is going well. We are still getting all settled in. Our first big project is going to be building shelves in the garage. Aaron and I are both excited to have storage space.

This picture is of Jake in the backyard. He loves being out there and we love it too. We already have plans to plant a garden this month. And next year we hope to build a swingset and sandbox.

More pictures!

Here are some more pictures of the house.
I love having a little entry. It is hardwood floor, which is nice. The doors on the right of the picture are to the laundry room and the closer one is a coat closet.
The living room.
Here is a picture looking into the living room from the entry. I love the big window at the front of the house.

Our house

Here are finally some pictures of our house. I still had a couple more to post but the interent is not working right, so I will post a couple more later. We have been here now over a month and are starting to get settled. We are loving all the space and the big backyard.
The fireplace in the family room. The back door is to the right.
The family room and kitchen areas, where we spend most of out time.
The master bedroom.
This isn't a very good picture of Jake's room, just a bunch of toys. While my mom was visiting we painted it blue. Jake learned how to climb out of his crib so we are making the transistion to a twin bed. Once I get the room all set up I will take more pictures. Here is the family room. I am not crazy about the yellow/goldish color and I am planning to change it in the near future.
Here is looking from the family room into the kitchen. The eating area is to the left and the master bedroom is through the doorway on the left of the picture, inbetween the kitchen and eating area. I am still not sure what to do with all the plant shelves in the family room and kitchen area.
Here is the eating area that has big windows looking out into the backyard.

Easter & Jake's Birthday

Jake's birthday was on Easter this year. It was a pretty full day. Jake got his Easter basket in the morning and after church we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Seable's house for dinner and birthday celebration.

Jake with his Easter basket. The Easter bunny was really good to him this year.

Aaron helping Jake put eggs in his Easter basket. We had an Easter egg hunt at Aaron's parent's house. All the grandkids loved it!

2 years old

We had Jake's pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids for his second birthday. We thought that turned out pretty cute. We sure do love this little boy!

The month of April

Life has been a little hectic the last few weeks. We moved over into our new home over in Nampa over 3 weeks ago and really are loving it. The moving was going great till our moving van broke down 15 miles from Nampa. Aaron had to wait 3 hours for the repair man to come out and fix the truck. It was a long day, but we finally made it.

Aaron started his new job a couple of days later. The people at the firm are very nice and I think this is going to be a great experience for Aaron.

A few days after we moved here we got news that my Grandpa Pickup had passed away. He had been sick for a while and we knew that his body was worn out. He was almost 91 years old. We drove down to Provo for the funeral the next week. The funeral was very nice and so many people came. He was loved by many.

We stayed down in Utah for the rest of the week to spend time with family. We had such a great visit and had a hard time coming back to Idaho. We really have missed living down in Utah.

A couple days after we got home my mom came to visit from Texas. It was kind of a hectic time to come, but she had been planning in for a while. We had a good visit and she helped me hang pictures on the wall and even paint Jake's room. While my mom was here just this past weekend we went to my brother-in-laws graduation and to my cousin's wedding in Salt Lake. It was a crazy weekend, but I really enjoyed it. We came home on Sunday and my mom just left to fly home this morning.

I have pictures to post but I am on Aaron's laptop and they are on our home computer. So I will post them as soon as possible.
