Ice cream

We have never been able to get Jake to eat ice cream. Not that it is someone we want him to eat lots of, but it seems like everyone likes ice cream. Up till today whenever he would try it, he would get the most disgusted look on his face. We thought maybe he didn't like how cold it was. Today we decided to stop and get a treat from TCBY. Jake was watching me eat my ice cream and then decided that he wanted to try it. So we guess he decided that ice cream wasn't so bad because then he finished my bowl for me. Funny little guy!

Swimming

Today we decided to check out the city pool. Jake had such a great time. Almost the whole pool is only 1 1/2 feet deep. There were sprinklers and fountains throughout the pool. Jake had on a life jacket so he could walk around the pool and he just loved it. Poor guy, he cried when it was time to go. Aaron was trying to get a picture of Jake, but he didn't want to look at the camera. I guess he was having too much fun to slow down or he has decided that we take too many pictures.

Who's that? ... Me??

This last week Jake has starting sitting down and look through his scrapbooks. It really does keep him entertained for several minutes. He likes to point to a picture of himself and ask "who's that?" then a few seconds later he'll say "me?" It is pretty funny.

Jake's big boy bed!

Aaron and I decided that it was time to get Jake a twin bed. Jake had learned how to climb of his crib and I was worried that he would try climbing out and hurt himself. Also we are going to need the crib in January for the new baby.
Jake has been doing so great in his new bed. I was really worried about him not staying in bed, but the transisiton has been really smooth. Jake sleeps great at night and even does great at naptime. He doesn't even try to get out of bed. He even waits for me to come in and get him in the morning and after nap time. It is crazy how small Jake looks in a twin bed. He was running out of room in his crib.
I am planning on painting a second coat of paint in Jake's room, a little darker blue. I still need to hang pictures and I am planning on making some curtains. I am hoping on getting all of that done in the next couple of weeks.

I can't keep a secret!

I am sure everyone can tell from the picture what our secret is. It seems like everyone is announcing that they are expecting and I couldn't wait any longer.

Our new little addition is due Jan 5, which makes me 10 weeks along. We are just so excited and feeling so blessed. Aaron and I are so excited for Jake to be a big brother. Hopefully it will not be too hard of an adjustment for Jake. He is use to having all of our attention being an only child for the past 2 years. I have been trying to point out babies we see on tv or at church, but he doesn't seem to care very much. Jake can say "baby" but only when he wants to, not when I am trying to get him to say it.

We had our 3rd ultrasound last week and everything looks good. The baby was moving and wiggling around. It's only a little over an inch long, probably about the size of a small plum. Aaron thinks the baby looks like a cinnamon bear, because of its short little arms and legs. We got to hear and see the heartbeat the last 2 ultrasounds. It was amazing, just as amazing as it was hearing Jake's heartbeat for the first time. I am just so excited to have little newborn again. Hopefully the next months don't go by too slow!

Standing on his head

Jake has really been trying to do head stands. I catch him leaning against the wall or the couch attempting them daily. I think it is so funny. I have never been able to catch a picture of him doing it till yesterday. Jake is such an active little guy and never seems to hold still.
