scrapbooking

I take a lot of pictures. I have like 200 pictures that I just developed that I need to scrapbook. I was totally caught up till we moved here almost a year ago. Now I am getting behind, so I tried the other day to get some pages done. This was all I got done, but at least it is a start. I love scrapbooking, but it is sometimes hard to find the time to do it. I tell myself after Jake is in bed at night I will try to scrapbook, but by then I am totally exhausted. But I am not going to give up on perserving out family memories. Jake loves looking at his scrapbooks and calls them "his books".

Our little guy!

Jake has been such a busy boy and seems to be changing so much. I can't believe that he is going to be three in April. We still haven't had much success with potty training, but I trying not to stress about it. I am taking me sister advice and setting a start day and really preparing Jake for the day we officially start potty training. So on April 1st is the date we set. SO until then I want to read some books with Jake about going in the potty and really get him excited about it. It anyone has any ideas about potty training that would like to share I would love to hear them. I really have been dreading this. I am sure Jake is more ready than I think he is. I have just been putting it off. Jake is loving nursery now, which is great. I just love that he doesn't cry when we drop him off anymore.

Nana Pickup this picture is for you. Jake loves the sweatsuit you gave him. He just would not pose for a picture. He looks like a Boise State fan, so he really fits in here. Everyone loves Boise State!

The other morning I got Jake out of bed and we walked into the kitchen. I turned on the light and he looked at and said, "amazing". It was so funny. I didn't even know he knew that word. I think it is so funny how Jake sleeps with his hand under his chin, we had to catch a picture.

Jake is starting to really love his little brother. He is always wanting to lay down next to Austin. Jake loves holding him now too. The other day we were at the store and Jake heard a baby crying. He starting saying "baby baby" looking around for the baby. He got really worried when we starting walking away from the crying baby. He thought it was our baby. Jake didn't realize that Austin was in his car seat in the shopping cart. Once I showed him where Austin was he was ok and calmed down. I thought it was so cute. A couple of weeks ago, Jake didn't even pay attention to Austin. Then yesterday I tried putting Austin down for a nap in his crib with his bedroom door shut. Jake went nuts when he heard the mobile playing through the baby monitor. He wanted to get into Austin's room and he ended up waking Austin up by pounding on the door. I tried putting Jake down for a nap and he kept asking me to lay the baby in his bed with him. Cute boy! Also the last couple of weeks Jake has really been fighting his naps, but I still make him have some quiet time in his room. Sometimes he falls alseep, sometimes in his bed and sometimes on the floor. I just do not want to give up nap time!

Yummy Smoothie

I wanted to share this great smoothie I tried yesterday. It is a recipe I got from weight watchers and it is really good. Enjoy!

1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1 small banana
2/3 cup unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
2 Tbsp low-fat plain yogurt
3 tsp wheat germ
1 tsp honey

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into tall glass and serve immediatley. (Makes one serving.)

Last weekend

Here are some more pictures from last weekend. We had such a great visit with my dad and the boys. Most of the weekend I was with all boys! They sure are loud and crazy, but it was great. I was sad to see everyone leave.
Grandpa Pickup and Austin

Uncle Dewey

Uncle Brian

The whole weekend Andrew was trying to get Jake to warm-up to him. Right now Jake really only likes his mommy and daddy. But his does love his Uncle Brian! Andrew kept saying he can make Jake cry by just looking at him.

I love to see my baby brothers holding and playing with my babies. I love that Brian, Andrew, and Travis love my little boys so much. What great uncles!

Jake does not hold still when we go out to eat. So we got him a big brownie to keep him happy. He got it everywhere, but we will able to enjoy lunch, so it was worth it!

Jake and Grandpa playing with Jake's train set. Jake was having a great time. Grandpa even bought Jake the Mr. Incredible pj's he is wearing. Jake loves The Incredibles.

Weight Watchers

Well I decided a couple of weeks ago that I really needed to start working on losing those pregnancy pounds. So last Thursday I joiuned weight watchers. The first week went pretty well, I was just hoping that I would at least lose a pound or two. I went to my second meeting tonight and I was surprised to find out that I had lost 4.6 pounds over the first week. I was so excited. Seeing results makes it so worth it and gives me the motivation to keep going. I know every week won't be this good, but it sure is nice to have a big jump start. I just had to share my exciting news!

Austin's Blessing

My dad and brothers came into town to be here for Austin's special day. It has been so great having family come and visit. I didn't get a picture of everyone that came for the blessing, but here is the Pickup side. Aaron's parents, brother, and sister's family were all at the blessing too. Dewey, Jake, Brian, Aaron, Austin, & Grandpa

I was trying to get a picture of Jake and Austin together and this was the best one we could get. Jake loves to give kisses.

Our Family

I love Austin so much! He is such a sweet baby.

This is Stefanie, Brian's girlfriend, who also came up for the blessing. Thanks for coming up Stefanie!

I will have to post some more pictures of our weekend after everyone leaves. We have been having so much fun. I love having my family visit!

Not much to say.

I don't have to much to say, but here are some pictures from the last week. Things are going good and we are adjusting to life with 2 kids. Austin is 6 weeks old today. Jake is doing so much better and is becoming much more patient with me. Yesterday Austin was fussy and Jake gave him a big truck to play with. I thought it was so cute. Hopefully Jake will always want to share with his brother.
We bought a double stroller last week and Jake had to try it out.
Then he decided to crawl into the bottom basket. It was all really fun until he got stuck and Aaron had to pull him out.

We have church from 2-5pm (yuck!) so Jake doesn't get naps on Sundays. This was last Sunday around 6pm when Jake fell asleep at the table eating chips and salsa.

I just love Austin's chubby face. He loves to sleep with his binky in his mouth.

We were trying to catch Austin smiling on camera, here are the two attempts.

The last 3 pictures are are of the first time that Jake held Austin. I think Jake loved all the attention of the camera. It was so sweet to watch Jake be so gentle with Austin.
