On Monday morning we checked into the hospital at 7:30. I changed into a hospital gown and got all hooked up to the monitors. It seemed to take forever to get all the paperwork filled out then the doctor came in at 9 am and broke my water. At this point I was only dilated to a 3. I was able to walk the halls for an hour while I was waiting for my epidural. By 10:30 I had my epidural and was waiting for it to kick in. I really didn't ever feel completely numb but I did have some relief from the pain. Around noon the nurse checked me and I was dilated to a 7. She told me she was going to lunch and buzz the nurse if I felt any pressure. A little after 1 my nurse got back from lunch and checked me and I was a 9 and completely effaced. She went and called my doctor and started getting everything ready. The doctor got there and I pushed for 3 contractions. Emma was born at 1:34 weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. We are not sure who Emma looks like, but she is so beautiful. She has lots of dark hair and the cutest round face. She is just the sweetest baby and is so content. I have always loved the name Emma and it fits her perfectly. We decided to use the middle name Darlene after my grandmother who passed away in September. I was always very close to my grandmother, so I was so excited to name Emma after such an amazing woman.

Emma getting her first bath. She didn't like when they took off her clothes, but I guess she loved the warm water.

Jake and Austin came up on Tuesday morning to meet their new baby sister. Jake was so excited and came next to the bed and said, "Baby Emma, she is soooo beautiful." It was so cute. Austin on the other hand did want anything to do with the baby. So I have yet to get a picture of all 3 kids.

We have taken tons of pictures, so I will try to post more soon. Right now our biggest priorities are sleeping and eating. We are just trying to survive.
