The Secret's Path
Strolling along with Deb and Joe as we live our lives to the fullest, laugh out loud, and love like there's no tomorrow. Stumbling through twin parenthood with our two little angels, our family and friends, and a lot of wine.

Vacation videos
Jake Dog is also on vacation. He is at Gram's house for the week. I'm sure he's having a great time playing with Molly and Dryfus.
Nicole and Joe played in the water for a long time. Ben went out to join them, too.
Nicole had more fun pulling the boogie board around in the shallow water. Then she would jump on top of it and pretend she was surfing.
Vacation!
We arrived in Kill Devil Hills, NC yesterday evening. It was a nice ride, about 5 1/2 hours, including stopping three times. I like having a Sunday-Sunday rental, because there was no traffic at all coming in.
The house is really nice, and the kids have a bunk bed in their room.

Just like at Gram's house, Nicole is sleeping on the top bunk, and Ben is on the bottom.
Nicole and Ben are ready for the beach. This was our recon walk early this morning (early being relative--it was about 9 am).
We hurried back to the house and got ready for the beach.
Nicole wanted to go and splash in the waves with Joe before we even put our stuff down. She kept running out of the water every time a wave came close.
She would run away from the wave, and then she would run back after the coast was clear.
Originally, Ben had no interest in the water. He is a digger. He couldn't get to his shovel fast enough, so he just used his hands.
Then he noticed how much fun Nikki and Joe were having, so he eventually joined them.
We brought a boogie board with us, which I ended up using more than anyone. Woohoo!
I have a couple of videos to upload, but the connection here isn't very fast. I'll upload them at some point.

Summer Camp
The kids went to Play Dough camp a couple of weeks ago. It looks like they had a great time!
They made their own play dough from scratch
They made different shapes with their play dough. Each day had a different theme.
Monday had a food theme. Ben made pizza.
Nicole made an apple

Ahh, Summer
Summer is finally here. Here are some of the things we've been doing:
Eating outside with Papa and Caroline. (Caroline's back is to us, Nicole is sitting across from her)
Nicole spent a week at Ballerina/Dance camp. She had a great time! And, she got to wear a tutu every day! There was a mini-recital at the end. So cute!
The kids randomly clean their rooms and stack everything on their beds.
Other times, they arrange items in patterns on the floor and play with them. After they completed this circle of shoes, they drove Ben's car slippers around the living room.
Nicole had a tea party with her dolls in the living room. She even brought out their doll-size table and chairs.

Water fun
The kids got a slip-n-slide for their birthday. I set it up and demonstrated how to use it, and then they started to play on it.
We tried playing in the small kiddie pool we have at home, but I think it may be time for an upgrade.
We also went to my friend's house over the weekend, and then we all went to her community pool (with her 2 kids). Her pool was very cool, with a big waterfall, jets shooting up from the zero-entry ramp, slides, and a whole other baby pool.
We were all exhausted after spending a couple of hours at the pool. Both kids were very well behaved, so we went out for ice cream afterwards. Then, we met Joe at a restaurant for dinner. It was a great day!

4 Year old update
Through all of this house mess, the kids turned 4 years old, had a birthday party, and visited the doctor for their check-up and got shots. All of this was great, except for the last part.
This was them after we got home from the doctor. They had 3 shots each, at least one in each thigh. We had to carry them inside. Poor little kids. By the end of the day, Nicole had pretty much forgotten about it (except for when her bandaid came off), but Ben was still milking it for all it was worth.
They are both very healthy and growing normally.
Ben is ready to have his blood pressure checked.
Nicole waited patiently for the doctor to come in.
They are both very healthy and growing normally.
