Today was my 30 week check up with the OB doctor. Everyone is doing great, cruising along without any problems. The babies are still moving and kicking. Their heart rates are 154 (baby A) and 158 (baby B). The size of my uterus is 35cm, which means that if I were carrying one baby, I would be the size of a woman who is 35 weeks pregnant.
I have another appointment in two weeks with an ultrasound. Dr. O'Brien also mentioned getting a stress test for the babies at either 34 or 36 weeks (I can't remember which) as routine for twins. It involves going to the Labor and Delivery floor at the hospital and hooking the babies up to a heart monitor for a while to watch them.
Also, my labs were fine. My glucose was normal (no gestational diabetes!), but my iron was slightly low at 10. My iron usually runs low, 11.5-12, and he said it's not too bad, but I should start to take an iron supplement daily. It's already on the shopping list.
My baby shower is this weekend, too. Patti was kind enough to host one for me. It's a joint shower with me and Julie, with most of the guests being family members. I'm also having another shower on Tuesday night at the Macaroni Grill in Annapolis with the people from work. That should be fun! Nothing like a little wine to end the work day!
Strolling along with Deb and Joe as we live our lives to the fullest, laugh out loud, and love like there's no tomorrow. Stumbling through twin parenthood with our two little angels, our family and friends, and a lot of wine.

A Few Updates
1. Third Trimester-- Yeah! Finally, I am officially in the third trimester. It seemed like it would never come. I have a few minor aches and pains, but nothing worth mentioning. Otherwise, I feel great.
2. 28 Week Appointment-- Today was my 28 week appointment, completed with ultrasound. The babies are doing great. Baby A (girl) is 2 lbs 6 oz, heart rate is 154. Baby B (boy) is 2 lbs 8 oz, heart rate 145. I am now seeing the doctor every two weeks, with an ultrasound every other appointment.

3. Nursery Update-- We have finished painting the nursery and assembled the cribs. So far, we have only one mattress, but I am planning on getting the second one the next time it's in stock at Target. We think it turned out great! It is really bright in there when the sun shines (it reflects off of the floor). We still have to put up the Snoopy valance and curtain rod, and I am planning on getting/making a plain white curtain to go underneath. Also, we still need to get a rug of some sort to put in there to absorb some of the echo. However, those are just extras.

4. Car Seats-- The last thing that we need to have in order to bring the babies home. We have purchased two of them for Joe's truck, and so far, we have one for my car. All I can say is, I Love Ebay!
5. Rugby-- Joe played his first game against Salisbury University last weekend. They didn't win, but the game didn't really count. It was more of a preseason game. Salisbury University won the Division II Nationals (or something) recently, so they are pretty good. Joe is still a little bitter about losing to the college students.
