Various Things!

We are proud of Madelyn!  She entered our state Reflections contest at her school back in the fall.  She wrote a piano song and recorded it.  She won her school, the county and received a merit award at the state competition!  We went to an award ceremony and reception for her on Saturday.  She was nervous walking down to get her medal and certificate but did great.  Go Madelyn!
This year we joined a CSA! (Community Supported Agriculture).  A local farm invites you to join and then once a week a basket of fresh, mostly organic veggies are delivered to you.  Last Thursday was our first pick up day.  We have had SO much rain that they are delayed in planting, but we still got some great things.  The strawberries were AMAZING!  We got spinach that we used in several recipes this week, green garlic, oregano, thyme and radishes.  Oh and some very yummy asparagus which the kids gobbled up.  Can't wait to see what we get today!
The kids are into performing "plays" for us.  It is basically chaos, but they have fun.  In this one, poor Silas was the princess.  He has on Caroline's Easter dress from a couple years ago - lol!
My sweet cellist!  Caroline is really enjoying cello and is making very nice progress.  She has her first recital in a couple weeks and is going to play Twinkle.
Beautiful hand position!

Ear Pictures

These were taken about 4 1/2 months post surgery of his left ear.  We are SO pleased with Silas' new ears!

Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day was wonderful this year!  Me with Madelyn (age 7 1/2), Caroline (age 6), Silas (age 4 1/2)
The girls made me a yummy breakfast in bed - all by themselves!  It was the sweetest thing and made my whole day.
When I came downstairs, they had my chair decorated and had cards for me on the table.
Jason got me beautiful roses and a really sweet card.

We went to church and enjoyed the day outside - the weather was great! Jason grilled out for dinner and my mom came over to eat with us.  Thanks kids and Jason for a great day!

Rapunzel!

Friday and Saturday the girls performed in Rapunzel!  The director of their ballet school created this show and it was so well done.  They had so much fun, and worked very hard.  There were many nights of rehearsals and 3 performances over the last couple of days.  Enjoy theses pictures of my beautiful ballerina's!
Both girls were part of the witches garden.  Madelyn was a flowering kale and Caroline was a Rampion
She looks 16 with all that makeup on!
I have more pictures of Madelyn since I chaperoned her group Friday night.  So pretty!

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter this year!  Saturday night we dyed Easter Eggs and had so much fun.  The kids enjoyed decorating them and not near as many ended up cracked this year!  Sunday morning before church the kids opened their Easter baskets.  They got new pool towels and some beach/pool toys as well as a new sprinkler and bat and ball set to share.

Silas got his first Zhu Zhu pet as well!
Then we got dressed and went to our church for a wonderful Easter service!
 They are getting so big!
After church, my family came over for lunch and their was a break in the rain and we got to play outside a little.  Caroline and Luke are BIG buddies.  They have so much fun together.  They are 3 days away from being exactly 1 year apart.
 Sweetness.
