Look Who's 33!

We got to celebrate Tom's Birthday with him on December 2nd. As he has of late, once again he requested home made apple pie for dessert. Happy Birthday Daddy!

Tree Decorating

I really meant to post these pictures much earlier this month and have had them uploaded for weeks now. Somehow December has just slipped by with all the shopping and extra events, it has seemed pretty busy. We decorated our tree for family night the first monday of December. It has been quite to chore this year to teach Wesley not to touch the tree and play with the ornaments. I think after having it around for a month he may have finally at least gotten bored of it.

Amberly puts up her first ornament.

Reili has lost a couple more teeth in the last month or so.

Jane digs out the ornaments for everyone to put up....and tries to convince the kids to let me get them out for them.

Wesley studiously moves his ornaments to the most strategic spots. This requires immense concentration as you can see.

Tom gets to put up the angel. He's the tallest so he can reach. It was so wonderful to have him home for the holidays this year.

Our Little Doggie

For Thanksgiving this year we were invited to our friend's, the Boehme's, for dinner. We had a great time eating delicious food, talking, and playing games. The kids had fun running around with each other and watching a movie. Wesley found the doggie door quite the entertainment. Here is a look at our little "doggie". I guess we don't need a real one yet.

Halloween 2009

Halloween came and went....it is my least favorite holiday so I wasn't sad at all that it is over. These are the few pictures I was able to get of the kids in their costumes before they rushed out the door to go Trick or Treating. Our neighborhood is very busy for Trick or Treating and we wanted to make sure they got some of the treats before they were gone. Our camera was on the fritz so some of these aren't the best pictures, but they will have to do.

A smiling supergirl. She can save me anyday.

Supergirl and a cute dragon.

Halloween wouldn't be complete without Hannah Montana (of course)!

All three excited to head out the door for more treats.

Pumpkin Patch

On my birthday we took the kids on our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Dixon. We have gone every year (as you may have noticed in previous posts), but this was Tom's first year going with us so that made it extra fun. The kids loved feeding the goats, the blow up haunted house, jumping off the hay bales, the corn maze, the wagon ride, and the hay ride. We just enjoyed seeing how much fun they had .

Here's how you open your mouth, goat!

Reili's turn.

In the corn maze. Come on, Mom and Dad!

Reili rides in the cow wagon train.

A hayride out to the pumpkin patch. We already had our
pumpkins at home, but it was fun anyway.

Hi, Dad!

Going Back to Cali

In October I was able to take a trip to visit my younger sister Kathy in California. She just moved back from Spain last year and so I haven't spent much time with her in the past 5 years. It was really fun to spend some time with her and her cute kids. Tom took a week off work to stay home and take care of our kids while I went out there. What an awesome Husband I have!!! He did great and got a lot done while I was away. I am so thankful to have such a great family.

During the week I was visiting we took the kids to Disneyland one day, Kathy took the older two to the Halloween Trick or treat there another day while I stayed with Sarah, we went to the beach, took a short trip to some nearby outlets, and otherwise spent time resting, watching movies, reading, and catching up on life. It was a good vacation from my normal routine and great to see Kathy.

Joseph and I pose together at Disneyland while we wait for Sam and Kathy to go on a ride.

Cute little Sarah Jane and Joseph at Disneyland.

All of us in front of Cinderella's Castle.

Kathy and Sarah at the beach. The water was freezing, but Sarah loved it and wouldn't stay away from it even after she started shivering.

Samantha made a sand drawing on the back of her boogie board. The water was so cold, the kids didn't end up using their boards much.

SuperHeroes

The other day I got an impromptu visit from two really cute superheroes. I just had to take some footage. Amberly said we needed to get them running. Check it out.

Ward Campout

Last weekend was our annual ward camp out. This year was even better because Tom was actually here. We went to a campground only 20 minutes away and had a picnic. Then the entertainment for the evening was a Court of Honor (boring) sort of mixed with a youth talent show. Tom stayed the night in a tent with the girls and I brought Wes home to get a good night sleep in my own bed. The girls thought camping in a tent was the best thing ever.

Wesley's version of roasting a marshmellow...he's a bit too far from the fire. I'm not sure it really got roasted until he actually stuck it in the cold ashes and then couldn't eat it.

Mom and Wes wait for things to get started.

First Day of School

Reili's first day of 2nd grade was last Thursday. I can't believe she is already that old. She was really looking forward to going to school again and seems to be enjoying it. Amberly also started school this week, but it is her second year at preschool and I forgot to get any pictures. Typical...the first child always gets all the pictures. It is nice to be back into a routine again, but the weather doesn't feel school like at all.

Reili chose toaster strudels as her special first day of school breakfast.

Waiting for the bus.

A cute goodbye kiss from Wesley (he just had to go to the bus stop).

Ready to ride the bus to school.

A fun birthday

Wesley's best friend, Caleb, just had a little birthday party for his 3rd birthday party. I finally remembered to take the camera and take pictures. The kids had lots of fun celebrating.

Reili, Amberly, Caleb, Kennedy and London ready for presents.

Reili and Amberly and their goofy faces.

Caleb gets ready for his spiderman cake.

Wesley just wanted to play with all the toys...no birthday party games for him.

Gamma and PopPop visit

I'm finally getting around to posting this. Tom's parents came to visit us at the end of June/first of July. They came during the "I feel so sick and tired" time of the pregnancy, but one day they managed to drag me out of the house and we went to Maramec Springs park and we enjoyed the museum, a nice picnic, and took a walk around the fish farm and fed the fish. It was perfect weather that day and we had a good time. We spent a lot of time just hanging out and the kids loved playing tickle monster with PopPop and reading books with Gamma. Thanks for the visit Mom and Dad!

Other News

We found out some other important news in May. We are expecting our 4th on January 13, 2010! Reili really wants a boy (she thinks we need to have the same number of boys as girls) and Amberly wants a girl, so I guess whatever we get...we'll be happy. Wesley isn't even sure what is going on...he just knows Mommy has been tired and cranky lately. Luckily, the first trimester is over and the nausea has abated. I'm sure with the other three to chase, there is no hope that the fatigue will go away. We should know in a few weeks what we are having, so stay tuned.

Proof positive!

May Fun

May brought a birthday, the end of school, and another visit from family.

Amberly finally decided that she could sing and perform in front of hundreds of people at her Preschool spring concert. We always hear her little voice singing at home, but this is her first debut in front of others. Good job, Amberly!

Wesley celebrated his 2nd birthday (2 already...where does the time go?). I'm not sure why Tom picked this particular picture, but he is opening a present here I think. He did have a cake and everything, but we only got that part on film (and I always have trouble downloading movies on blogger for some reason).

So happy with his new ball. I love how little ones are content with the simplest gifts.

For Memorial Day Weekend, Tom's sister Rebekah came to visit with her five kids while her husband took a motorcycle trip out west. These particular shots are from our picnic in the woods with a bunch of friends from the ward. We literally were out in the middle of nowhere having a fire and a picnic (some of our friends camped too, I'm glad we didn't). The hardest part was helping the girls go to the bathroom in the woods.

Wesley and his bestest buddy Caleb enjoy a short stint in some chairs.

The outlook from across the fire?

Cute Rebekah!

Amberly enjoys a little sip.

Tyler and Ryan (our nephews) enjoy roasting marshmallows over the fire.

We're so glad Rebekah could come visit us before she moves back to Utah with her family. Even though it was less than a year out here...we were glad to have them closer for a short time.
