June: Catching Up

If you look over to the right... yes, right there... you'll notice I've only posted a few times in 2011. To make this more fun for the handful of readers (Hi, mom!), I will recap the past few months.

1BSTB Family Day at a local water park. G is laughing (not crying) in this picture. I think collectively we took him down the "big slide" at least 15 times. This kid would live in the water if I allowed him to.

Uhm yeah. We're in a Bradley during E's company gunnery day. It was a blast... literally. I got to shoot 2 big, huge monster guns. It was awesome, I even got a little bullet burn. And I was proud of it, too! Earlier in the month I participated in the Brigade Spur Ride. The spouses of the Soldiers within the Brigade did several stations where we did tank simulations (driving / shooting), muddy obstacle course, and (my favorite) shooting an M16 at the range. For a blind girl who has never shot a gun before, I got an 82 out of 100!

Three of the best friends a girl could ask for: A, M, L, and Me.
I've known these girls for a long, long time and I'm a better person because of all of them. Earlier this year we decided to plan a girls weekend. At the end of June, we finally got to!! We had a blast. I may have made someone laugh so hard they may have done something REALLY funny. Maybe.
This was taken on the last night of our weekend (fancy dinner night!)

It's that time again..

A time comes for a military family when "one" must embark upon a mandatory trip overseas. Paid vacay? No. We sent E off on his adventure... here are a few pictures:

G wanted in on the picture action. He was so proud to stand with his dad.

E and his parents.

E and the saucy minx, A.

See you *soon*!!

I mean, what else can I say?

This precious boy is the light of our lives... even when he's flooding my kitchen or dusting the floor with baby powder.

Amen and M&Ms

The basis: So when G goes pee in the potty, he gets an M&M or two. And at night when we say our prayers we end with "Amen". Here's where the story (in my opinion) gets funny. Tonight after saying our prayers, G says, "Mommy, I eat Amen!!! I eat Amen! Yummy!" and he proceeded to pretend to eat "Amen". Confused and trying not to fall out of the chair laughing, I realized he thought that Amen and M&Ms were the same thing. To explain I said, "Well you get M&Ms when you go pee pee and we say Amen after we talk to God."

The result: He still likes to eat Amens. He says, "That funny!"

Today on the way to Austin I was asking G his name, which he proudly said. Then I asked what mommy's name was and he said mommy. Then I asked what daddy's name was and he said, "Erik!"

Huh? I guess he hears me call him Erik and he put it all together. He's so funny.

On a side note his other new phrases include:
What did you say?
Whaaaaaaaaaaat?
Did you hear that noise?
What are you doing?
I help Mommy.
Stop singing that song, Mommy!
I do it!
What?
Mommy, get up! or Mommy, wake up!
.... and my least favorite: No!
