Well we just got back from a quick trip to Cancun. It was a whirlwind of a trip and was much shorter than we had planned, but Seth's brother Scot's wife Michelle suffered a hemorrhage on the same day we left for Cancun, so once we arrived, we found out and changed our flight home in order to make it back for the funeral. Michelle had brain cancer, but this hemorrhage came as a surprise. We all thought we would have a lot more time with her. Her viewing and funeral were beautiful, she is such a sweet girl, so talented and so genuine. We miss her dearly! Scot will be spending more time with us at our home while he adjusts to a new life without Michelle here by his side. There is so much I could write about Michelle and the wonderful person that she is. It has been neat to learn even more about her from people that are posting on her facebook page. She was loved by so many people!

So for the two days that we were there, we tried to make the best of them. One day we took a tour to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam and also got to swim in a cenote near Ek Balam. We signed up with Helaman Tours which is an LDS tour group, so it was interesting to see their perspectives and insight and how the Mayans and their traditions tied into the Book of Mormon and other gospel teachings. Fascinating really. The ruins at Ek Balam you are able to climb, this picture below is taken at the top of the highest ruin looking out and back at the other ruin. It was a pretty far climb and rather steep.

The other day we spent going to Market 28 which is just a big market for tourist filled with all the classic mexican souvenirs. We were in speed mode since we wanted to go an island and go snorkeling, so I have never shopped a place like that so efficiently. We got what we wanted and took a taxi to the ferry to take us to the island called Isla Mujeres. We rented a golf cart once we got to the island and then took off to find a good place to snorkel. We ended up bartering with a guy to take us snorkeling, we paid about $20 a person, which is a lot better price than anywhere we saw. Basically he had to take the deal because that was literally all the cash we had on us. So he took us out in his boat and we got to see a lot of fish and the reef. The only bad part was I suddenly felt really sick and ended up barfing in the ocean. Nasty, but at least it is the easiest clean-up. I felt fine afterwards, I must have just swallowed some salt water or something. Apparently all of the fishes like the barf because they were going crazy over it. Sorry if that is TMI. :)
We enjoyed the beach and the vacation as much as we could. We pretty much were distracted with what was going on at home and that consumed most of our thought and conversation, but it was neat to see another part of the world.

So it has been quite some time since I have updated everyone. As you can see in the pictures above, we had success with getting pregnant. We did end up having to do IVF, and man, all I can say is my heart goes out to those women who do IVF, and who have to do it multiple cycles. And even more, who go through all of that and still do not get pregnant. It is NOT fun, let me tell you. I do not like needles and that many shots just about did me in. It is crazy the process and the cost. We are ever so grateful that it worked on our first try. We got three embryos and put two in and one took, so we are pregnant with a singleton and couldn't be happier! We froze the remaining one and hopefully will get to use it at a later date. We found out on my birthday (April 25th) that we are having another girl and my due date is October 11th. So things worked out, which we feel so blessed. She is growing well and I am having a hard time being as diligent as I was with Ariana about working out and eating well so I feel like I have gotten a lot larger faster with this one. I guess part of that is normal.
Other than that, things have been just going along. Seth is still enjoying his job, we have been enjoying our house. It is a lot of work and we are trying to figure out how to care for this yard and all of the flowers that came with it. Somebody really liked flowers that lived here before us. There is always something that needs to be done, but it has been enjoyable for the most part (except the leaking skylight in the kitchen) (and the clogged bathtub that we had to get fixed), but that is normal I guess now that we are homeowners. The picture to the right was taken on Easter Sunday.

Ariana is doing well and is building quite the vocabulary. She can count to 10 and love Elmo and Frozen. She likes to collect sticks whenever we go on a walk and always wants to leave the house and go places. She is like her mom in that regard. She loves books and will read to herself. Tonight she started telling us what to add to the prayers which is the first time she has done that. She wanted to make sure we said we were grateful for the 'park' and 'chicken nuggets' and 'her cup of milk'. It is fun to see what they come up with next.
