Well. I didn't send a Christmas card. I had to let a few things go this year and sadly that was one of them. Maybe Valentine's or Easter. For now, this is what our Christmas letter would have said:
It has been one awesome year. Our beautiful Lucy Grace came into the world on May 3. Lucy means light and that's exactly what she is. A bright light. We are all crazy about her- her big, toothless smile and happy, bright eyes. I think she likes to cuddle the most of the 3, but like her brother and sister, she likes to be on the move. Good thing, because this family is always on the move. She's the easiest baby of the 3, or maybe we're starting to get the baby thing. Or maybe #3 just has to be easy. Regardless, she fits right in and I can hardly remember life without her.
Elliott is beyond anything we could have asked for or imagined in our #2. She is funny and fun and a big burst of lovable energy. She is non-stop. She is excitable and passionate. She will share anything she has- even chocolate. She has such a loving, giving heart. She keeps up with her big brother which is no small feat. She is a tough cookie and can hold her own in the inevitable bickering that goes on among siblings. I am so proud of what a brave, kind girl she is and I love spending time with her. This year she started a tap and ballet class, took music classes, spent lots of time at the zoo and parks and museums, spent lots of time playing with sweet friends (even a few who weren't 4 year old boys) and is learning to ride her tricycle. It's so hard to believe how much she's grown up in the last several months.
Will. What can I say about this boy?! He amazes us. He recently schooled Troy in the solar system and has read his first several books in the last few months. He loves to learn. He's as rough and tough as any 4 year old boy and yet incredibly loving and thoughtful and gentle with his sisters (especially the baby sister). He is an awesome teacher to E and fairly patient with her when she's overly curious with his Legos. He played his first two seasons of baseball this year and was quite the little slugger. He's now starting his first season of basketball and Coach Daddy and I are thrilled at how much he gets into sports- he's got a golf swing like a pro and ran his first race this year at the Turkey Trot. We're a little proud.
Troy is still working hard and having fun being Daddy to this wild crew. He's so good at it. He has time for a little basketball of his own and the kids think he's a big star when we get to go watch. I am so thankful for him. I am one lucky girl! As for me, I am just thrilled and grateful to be completely, utterly exhausted from it all. Happy 2013! May it not fly by as quickly as 2012.
