New Year's eve fell on a Sunday this year, so no big parties. It was our last day of 2pm church too! Hooray! It's been tough having late church. I'm excited to be going to 8am next week. I taught my last primary lesson too. They want to release me from teaching primary. I've been teaching for almost 5 years and did nursery the year before that. So this next year I would have been teaching my nursery kids. Pretty crazy. They had originally wanted me to do Activity Days...again. I've done that calling a few times. Haha! Anyway, I had to turn that calling down because it conflicted with my teaching piano at the same time. So, for the time being, I will have no calling! So weird! I also was able to play the organ for Sis. Cobbley this week too. We had a great sacrament meeting with talks about the DISTRACTIONS in our lives! Boy, are there a lot!! We raced home after church to finish dinner up. The married kids came over, along with grandma and grandpa Severtson. We had ham, funeral potatoes and salad and homemade rolls. Afterwards we played a game of Quip Lash and then watched a couple movies. Caleb and Porter went to a friends houses. We lit off fireworks early because I was afraid of our new neighbors having issue with it. The house across from us is now an Assisted living house. I had a huge stash of fireworks from the last couple of years. So Caleb and his friends came back over and did fireworks. Sadie even helped! Haha! She loved watching all the flashing lights and wasn't even scared of the noise. Bentley and Cal left around 11:30pm. We watch the Ball down in Time Square and then we went to bed shortly after. 2017 was another roller coaster ride adventure with ups and downs and turns and twist, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Here's to another new year!!

Maizey's wisdom....gone!
Maizey was the next victim of wisdom teeth removal. With our good dental insurance ending next year, we wanted to get them out soon. So two days after leaving Harkins, she had hers out. Unfortunately at the time she came down with the flu. We were worried that would cause her not to have the surgery, but they said as long as she wasn't running a fever, she would be fine. She was lucky and only had to have two removed. It was quick and easy. I got some great video of her. She was pretty funny! Then the fun began...her pain medicine wasn't doing the trick and her good mood faded fast. :) Her poor face had swollen pretty bad and has lasted for days. She was able to get her pain under control, but the swelling is very slowly going down. She's even still numb on her chin. Monday was back in the land of the living. She was able to start packing up her room and pack for college. Today she had a follow up with the Doctor, he said that he didn't think she had an infection. He gave her a stronger dose off antibiotic to help. At least the swelling is going down and she's feeling better. What a doozy!:)
Snap chatting with all her fans! Haha!

Christmas!!!
Christmas is slowly changing as the kids get bigger, no more 4am wake up calls and excitement for Santa. We woke up at a decent hour, which was nice. We opened presents and we all were happy with what we received. I made our traditional breakfast of Butter Braids, sausage pinwheels and ham and cheese puffs for breakfast. Kami and Tim and Bentley and Cal come over and ate with us and then we waited for Garrett to call home, which is the best Christmas present! We had a great time talking with him. We got a ping pong table this year. So we had putting it together. It's a beast...sure hope it fits upstairs...
2017 Christmas Card
Here's our Christmas card for 2017...our family is getting bigger (taller) and larger (in quantity). :-) All of us are doing well, happy and firm in the faith! We've been surely blessed...Merry Christmas!

Severtson Christmas Eve party
Christmas Eve was on Sunday this year. Church was only an hour long. We had a beautiful program. I was able to sing in the choir. Noah was asked to bare his testimony of the Savoir. He didn't think too much about it and really didn't prepare for it. So when others started to get up and had more to say then just their testimonies, I think he started to panic a little. :) He did alright, probably a lot better than he thinks. But I hope he learned his lesson to prepare. Because this will definitely happen on his mission. :)
Afterwards we rushed to JuLee's for the party. We got there early, along with lots others. Haha! We had Mexican food for dinner and lots of treats. We visited a little and held baby Sadie a lot! Then it was time for presents. We got lots of fun stuff from the brothers and sisters and mom and dad. Even Sadie got a cute little cabbage patch doll named Bonnie Sadie! The missionaries were able to come over for a bit and even Jake was able to message a few of us there. Afterwards we ran to my moms to wish her a Merry Christmas. Then all the kids came over and we did sibling gifts. Then later Toby and I brought out the gifts. Luckily most everything was wrapped a few days before. So that was nice, not to have to stay up late wrapping presents.

Glasgow Christmas party
This years Glasgow Christmas party was a little different. They was a call to revamp it, so that's what happened. No more grandkids doing the nativity and no more talent show. This year Lathe and Martha volunteered to be in charge. They did a great job! Mostly Danielle did everything. Haha! She had us sit with other people not in our immediate family. We had a yummy breakfast and played games. Lona did play the piano. We also shared memories of grandpa Glasgow from Christmas past. It was nice to get together and get to know everyone better. Next year, we get to be in charge. Haha!

Missionaries for Dinner
We once again we had the missionaries over for dinner. Love having them and their sweet spirits in our home. I try to have them over as much as I can. Trying to pay it forward with the members who have had our missionaries over for dinner. Elder Lott is actually a distant cousin on the Clark side. Rod's mom was a Lott. We actually met Elder Lott's uncle at one the cinema shows. He owns a theatre in Idaho. So that's pretty neat.

Mysterious lights over Queen Creek
Tonight after my piano recital, we went to deliver Christmas cards in the neighborhood. We started driving we notices a BUNCH of tiny lights up in the sky above us. It was amazing to see! They were all different colors too. We gazed at them while we were going up and down the streets. We decided that they had to be Chinese lanterns. We would see a few people out and about looking at the same thing. Stopping and listening to what they thought they were. At one point a plane went passed them and divided the lights to make them go into a V shape. It was pretty cool!
Well, a few night later, we had the missionaries over and the mystery of the lights were solved. That night the whole Gilbert mission had gotten together to celebrate all the baptisms that they had had that year...400 lighted balloons went up in the night sky! Pretty Awesome!!
A few nights later another light shown in the sky!! This time it was a huge horizontal light that beamed across the night sky! It was amazing also. We later found out it was from a rocket....from CALIFONIA!! My nephew who's serving a mission in LA also talked about seeing it! So weird!

Christmas piano recital
Another Christmas recital in the books! This was my 4th Christmas performance. I had 17 students this year! They all did a fantastic job! Recitals are my favorite part about teaching. The students get to learn harder songs and push themselves and then perform their hearts out! It makes it all worth it! I'm thankful for the opportunity to use my talent to help others develop theirs.

Reed family Christmas party
We had our annual Reed family party at uncle Brad's house this year. He's the only one that has a house big enough to fit all of us. :) It was a little different not having grandma Reed there. She sure was missed, but know that she was with us in spirit. We had yummy food as always and a nice time visiting with family. We even had a visit from good ol' St. Nick! Sadie showed up in her elf costume too!
