February 2015

We got this cool dinosaur kit where you had to dig through some clay to find the fossil bones & then glue together the dinosaur.  Yes it made a huge mess but everyone was so excited about it.

Valentine's Day was fun.  We had banana pancakes for lunch & read each others cards.  I love that each of us make a card for every other member of the family.  It's the only holiday we all do that.  It was great to see how grateful everyone was & how much thought the kids put into their drawings for each other.  Jeremy & I went dancing that night.  I think next time the dancing bug hits we'll just dance at home :).

We finally went to Fort Stevens.  We've been to the part of the park with all the trails & Coffenbury Lake but we have never been to the actual Fort.  There was lots to see & explore.

One day the kids were out of school so we went to Coffenbury Lake for a picnic & then walked to the shipwreck beach to jump down the sandunes.  We had so much fun that we took Daddy there the next weekend to do the same things.

Klootchy Creek County Park

We had a free night stay at the local KOA who was hosting the district Pinewood derby race.  The cabin was perfect - it had a full size cot, two sets of bunk beds & we brought the pack n' play for Dallen.  It was advertised as "heated" but I think that's stretching the truth a bit :)  We used their pool that afternoon too.

We saw a double rainbow that weekend!

Hyrum placed 3rd in his age group so he went home with a trophy this time!  However he had the most fun learning how to play foosball with his friends.

The next night was the local Daddy/daughter dance.  Emma has been so excited she made a countdown calendar & asked me at least 3 times a day when the dance was for 3 weeks prior.  She asked Jeremy multiple times if they could practice their dancing.  So cute!

Hunter has shown interest in photography lately & likes to steal my camera to take pictures of anything.  His favorite subjects are his siblings.

More jumping fun!

Time to fold laundry...

Walks to the park

Found Santa having a tea party one morning

Some friends of ours were in a car accident & we made get well cards for them.  Their last name is  Hill so I told Dallen 'Draw a picture of you smiling at the Hills' so he drew a picture of himself smiling at two hills or mountains.  It was so cute.

Checking out the Astoria library for the first time

Hunter had an appointment for a sleep study in Portland to check for sleep apnea.  He was such a trooper!  I couldn't believe how still he sat for all of those wires & how fast he fell asleep with all that stuff stuck to him.  A DQ stop the night before & an amazing free continental breakfast made up for it all.
