Also, all you LA peeps....what is with the huge clown wearing a dress that lives above the CVS in Santa Monica? I am always so confused whenever i see it. I want answers.

Day in a nutshell

Some old lady wanted to buy the necklace i was wearing at the time (see below) at lunch today, and also ran into Hugh Heffner's girlfriend.

Craft night continued

Maybe craft night inspired me.

Today while watching Knocked Up on E! (twice...sad huh?) and the Sound of Music, i started and finished Erin's hair flower for her wedding (so exciting!)

Just debating on a chain or a ribbon for the rest of the necklace.

Merry Christmas/Bah Humbug

This year I didn't get to go home for Christmas like orginaly planned.

So i stayed in bed till one with my phone on silent, and watched movies on USA. Depressing i know. I tried my hardest to convince myself that it wasn't Christmas and i wasn't missing out on anything, and some of the time it worked, but mostly it didn't because my family and friends were calling nonstop reminding me that I was still very much alone. (Sorry guys, i didn't answer any of your calls because I didn't want to be bawling...don't take it personal).

But don't worry, I was only suicidal (kidding) half of the day, the second half was spent with miss Melissa Morales at Sherlock Holmes.
-5
where we saw our friend Peter's name in the closing credits! So exciting! Associate Producer, Peter Eskelsen!
Loved the movie by the way.

Then after wards we had a mini photo shoot so I could have proof that i left my house on Christmas Day 2009.

Merry Christmas. I guess. Ha, sad.

oh hey LC...

Went to see Nine last night. Guess who else went to see Nine last night? Lauren Conrad.

We sat in the same row.

Basically we are BFFs now.
ps. that movie blows.

as does the Lovely Bones, saw that one earlier this week where the girl who played Cher in the tv version of Clueless was sitting in front of us.

just a lot of run ins with the tv crowd at Landmark in LA.

Brain Dump

-I'm working A LOT. Emphasis on the a lot part. It's great, buries exhausting.
-speaking if work, tonight there was an event at the store, filled with really wealthy horse people. Yes, you read that right. HORSE PEOPLE. Let me just say this...I don't think there is a more boring groupof people than those who love horses.
-Now that I'm in LA, I spot celebrities sort of often. I saw Seth Rogen shooting a scene at a Shell gas station last week & Quinn from Glee was in the store yesterday. Remember how I used to do the celebrity gossip segment on Kim's radio show? Yeah, sort of feels right that I live amongst these people now, huh? Ha.
-I'm going to do a painting for Ellen. Not because she asked me to but because I really want tickets to Ellen and I think if I act like a fool outside of her studio with a huge painting of she and Portia, I just may have a chance to get in for this 12 days of giveaways business. Seriously folks, I will act like a MANIAC for Ellen tickets. You're going to be embarassed for me but don't be, because I will get some pretty sweet swag.
-I can't get enough of the song "edge of desire" by John Mayer. Love it to the point if obsession.
-Anybody watching (and loving) Friday Night Lights? I am, obviously.
-I haven't been drinking much dr pepper these days. Really sometimes a few days goes by without one and I'm perfectly fine. That makes me somewhat proud of myself. I thought I was extremely addicted.
-Saw 2 movies recently...Brothers and Up in the Air. Both good, both depressing. Next movie I want to see is Sherlock Holmes. It better not suck. (sidenote, my friend worked production on Sherlock, and he's really worried people aren't going to see it....uhhh I think it's safe to say it's going to do extremely well)
-Only a few more weeks until my magazine print debut. I can't wait. More excited about that than Christmas.
-Speaking of Christmas, I am working Christmas eve and the 26th so we will have to pray for a Christmas miracle that someone takes my shift or I am going to be eating christmas dinner alone at the bowling alley diner by my house.

Ok I'm not spell checking this because I wrote this whole post on my phone, in the bathtub. TMI?

It's been a while...

The title of this post is supposed to be sung like that terrible song by nickelback? Creed? I don't know. It's a bad song.

I haven't blogged in a while...haven't had a computer other than my little phone and when you're out of the blogging habit, life seems boring. Which yields to...not much to blog about.

-it's almost Christmas, and my little (teensy 1bedroom) apartment doesn't have a single decoration. How depressing is that? I have been listening to lots of Pandora Christmas radio and of course loving it. Fav Christmas songs...don't make fun...
"little drummer boy" by Jessica and Ashlee Simpson
&
"O holy night" by N'Sync

I know. Terrible huh? But it's true. I love them.

-I saw the movie "Precious" last night. Now, I don't like to see R rated movies usually, but I really wanted to see this film and I am so glad I did. Yes, it's disturbing. Yes, it made me itchy and want to shower right that second (everything in the movie is covered in sweat, it's disgusting). Yes, it was depressing and yes it was FILLED with F words....and yes, one of the best movies I saw this year. It was important. If you think you can stomach it, go see it. And if you can see it in a fancy movie theatre while sitting on a comfy leather couch with a nice boy...do that too.

-I know I'm late on this but...ADAM LAMBERT! what the? The guy is doomed. Seriously, he isn't going to sell records by being a filthy nasty human. That was so barfy, was it not?

-now that I live in LA I better be able to see ELLEN. Does anyone know any tricks to getting tickets? She gives away free stuff and I feel like I should get some of her free stuff.

-You won't be dissapointef if you buy the 2010 Real Simple Weddings annual magazine. More on that when it comes out...I don't know what exactly will be included but I did speak with a reporter and an editor and I know the wedding is 1 of 10 featured but we'll see what it actually looks like in January! So exciting!

-I am working at anthro again. Woohoo! Looking forward to smelling like the store...not. How good are "not" jokes? Ha. The smells give me a headache but I am actually looking forward to it again. I feel like I dress better when I work there. Not just because I have new clothes (won't have the funds for it this time around :( sad) but it forces me to be more daring and I like it. Plus, new friends! Friends that I didn't make at church which hardly ever happens! Already made friends with 2 girls just at the interview...

-wouldn't mind a prescription for ambien these days

-I'm watching the rockafeller tree thing right now and Michael Buble is HOT.

That's it. I'm done and this teensy touch keyboard is giving me a hand cramp.

Christmas Wish

Alright so I have been slacking on the blogging, i'm determined to change that.

Maybe its too early to be thinking about what i want for Christmas, and lets be honest, i wont be getting any of these things.

Nike Lunarglide Sneakers
nikelunaglide
my running shoes right now suck, and they squeak with every step. plus these just look cool, do they not?

Tracy Morgan's book: I Am the New Black
book-i-am-the-new-black
heard its hilarious, and how could it not be? Sort of want the audiobook though, its read by mr morgan himself.

7 For All Mankind A-Pocket Lexie Jean
jeans
i need these. this is the #1 thing. These are my most favorite jeans, and i have already gone through 2 pair, the last pair having just barely died. I wish that Anthro still carried this style so i could get them with the discount. Sad day.

Bumble&Bumble Creme de COCO Shampoo
cremedecoco
Best Shampoo i've ever used. I sort of have stopped using conditioner, and its made my hair a lot more manageable...its too silky when i condition a lot, so im down to twice a week. I need good shampoo, and this stuff is the best. And it smells like heaven.

Anthro Lacemaker skirt
anthroskirt
The prettiest skirt in the store right now. So pretty. I think it would be a good investment seeing as it would be darling paired with tights in the winter, and then worn through spring and summer with a good pair of wedges.

The new Michael Buble album: Crazy Love

Michael Buble is hot. Thats all.

thats about it. oh yeah, and lots of gift cards to michael's and joannes.

GO ON...BUY ME SOMETHING.
thanks!
kidding. (unless you want to buy me something?)

brain dumps are for november

-I am moving to LA. I repeat, i am moving to LA. This week. I already packed my stuff and left Huntington Beach, and am moving into my new place this weekend. IM THRILLED.
-Since i am homeless for a week i hitched a ride with Kayla to Vegas. Worked out perfectly.
-Modern Family is the funniest show on tv. Dont believe me? Watch this clip.

-I am still in love with the iPhone and twitter.
-Paintings are starting to sell like hot cakes again. Just like they did last holiday season. Its a good confidence boost.
-I need to plan something soon. A new party or event. I need a paid customer. I need rich, bored people to take me under their wing and give me creative work.
-I love turtleneck weather. I love it so much that even though California doesnt think November is turtleneck weather, i still wear them. It was 83 degrees on sunday when i left for church in my turtleneck and tights. The weather cannot hold my passion for fashion.
-Erin and Warren got engaged last night and i actually had tears as i read her blog post. Im such a dork.
-I wish this was my wedding
-Saw MJ's "This IS it" and blah, it was good enough, the dancing was great...the show would of been amazing...hes still a creeper but extremely talented...anyway, the "girl" in his show i knew that i recognized. It was driving me nuts. It finally came to me today...SHES DIXONS DJ GIRLFRIEND ON 90210. Is it pathetic that i know that?
-There are a couple of giveaways coming up here to create some holiday season buzzzzzzzzzz. I think ones going to be tonight, but i will post a link tomorrow once i know for sure.

And ummmmm thats it for now.

Baaaaaahhhhhd to the bone

Halloween to me is like New Years Eve and Valentines Day...a letdown. Not this year though.

This year was fun.

After going back and forth between costume ideas, we decided to be little cute lambs. 5 of us. Meridith, Heather, Kylee, Camille and myself. We were a cute little flock.

Drunk Driving

Last night we piled into the car at 10pm to rush over to the movie theatre to see Michael Jackson's "This IS It."

But on our way, we got pulled over.
11141_167747036215_514971215_3375379_4714619_n
Meridith had to take a sobriety test. I could NOT stop laughing.

some of my favorite lines from this idiot cop (he was asian and had the thickest accent and lisp, i couldnt understand anything he said, it was awesome.)

mer: why did you pull me over?
cop: how much have you had to drink this evening?
mer: uh nothing. why did you pull me over?
cop: whats in your mouth?
mer: gum
cop: can you spit it out? how old are you?
mer: im 33. Why did you pull me over? You think i've been drinking?
cop: are you on any drugs? you were driving in the bike lane....your right tire was on the white line
mer: what?

i was DYING. She didnt get a ticket. So funny.

Also she doesnt drink obviously.

Thinking of thoughts and things.

-I went to lunch with Kayla last week. I just love her. She lives in Pasadena and its the cutest place, and its just perfect for her. I'm sad that i haven't spent more time with her out here.
-I'm in love with these pop art paintings i have been working on.
-The Hills is good, not great. I cannot stand that Kristen. Shes so damn annoying.
-I love to read. I sometimes forget that when i don't have a book in my hand that keeps my attention.
-My life has been different than ever before the last month. I'm about to move, I'm not completely and totally sure when or where either which is a little bit freaky, but its going to be soon. I have realized the same lesson i keep learning every couple of months. That what i have in store for myself is not necessarily what the Lord has in store for me. Its a hard pill to swallow every time.
-My friend Natalie, is in the Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie, and every tweet she tweets, blog she writes, or text i get from her...gets me so excited about that show. I need to go see it. I love bye bye birdie. I remember seeing it for the first time late one night on the Disney channel when i was like 12. I loved it. I need to see the telephone hour, live. I have until April.
-I haven't been sleeping again. I hate insomnia. Which is a stupid thing to say, cause who loves insomnia? No one.
-If you aren't watching Modern Family, you're an idiot.
-My roommate made these day of the dead pillows for Halloween, I'm obsessed with them. I'm really going to miss this house.
photo
-I'm doing nothing for Halloween. I am kind of excited about it.
-That's all for now.

Brain Dump - Fall Edition

I've been in Las Vegas since last Wednesday, and I must say...I am glad i don't still live here, but it has been really really REALLY nice to be here for the week. My nephews couldn't be any cuter, and I am getting a lot done, and its always good to be around my sister Megan. The weather is chilly, which makes me happy, but i sort of wish i would of packed something other than sweats, cause my fall clothes really are WAY cuter than my summer clothes.

HELLO TURTLENECKS & TIGHTS.

Ok so anyway, this is a brain dump. I just decided that just now.

-While watching "the soup" the other night, there was a clip from a pageant show called "king of the Crown" well, we figured out when its on, Megan taped the rerun, and we just finished watching it. ITS BRILLIANT. So hilarious. Perfect television. Its one of the reasons I am happy the television was invented. WATCH IT. Its on Wednesdays on TLC.
-Speaking of TLC, who does John Gosselin think he is? Did anyone else see poor Kate Gosselin crying on the Today show this morning? Again with "the soup" (it was a good one, I'm sorry)...I'll quote Joel Mchale "when did we start siding with Kate?" Seriously. She used to be a beast, and maybe she still is, but she has 8 kids and a total idiot for a husband/ex husband so i think i would be quite the beast too. That guy is a real loser.
-I feel tremendously blessed that i have marketable skills.
-If you are looking for a good dry shampoo, its PSSSSST!
psssssst
its cheap and its at CVS. It keeps my bangs from looking wet by afternoon.
-Over conference weekend i was able to get quite a few paintings done. One being this one i did for Nie Nie
nieniepainting
I love it. And did you see the commercial for Wednesday's Oprah? Shes on it!
-I also did these paintings for Krissa. They are pretty freaking cute i must say.
-I have really good friends.
-I've learned to never leave out a can of peanut butter out at my sisters, as it took me 10 minutes to wash all the peanut butter out of Lincolns little palm and up his arm. THAT STUFF DOESN'T JUST RINSE OFF.
-Found out a couple of days ago that Christmas this year is taking place in FOLSOM. So so so happy about that. Its been over a year since i was last there.
-I miss Utah right now. its weird. I never miss Utah except in the beginning of fall. Las Vegas and California have fake seasons, and fall is just so magical and i really wish i was somewhere where there were leaves? too much to ask?
-I need a project, and i need it soon. My hands are bored and i need to create something.
-I will be posting a tutorial on how to make those Anthropologie necklaces very soon. Promise.

That is all for now.

Medieval Times

Years and years ago, my lovely parents used to take me and my 3 other siblings to Medieval Times in Buena Park. I remember our usual family nights involving either Medieval Times, Raging Waters or Knotts Berry Farm....anyway, my friend Brandon got a ton of reduced price tickets, so 30 of us drove to witness blood being shed for the King, Princess and her Prince. Atleast i think thats what happened, i dont speak medieval.

seriously, hes dreamy, right?

So there you have it folks.
