How it all began......

I developed a love for running this summer. My friend Lacey talked me into doing a
5K in June for Art city days in Springville. I was very hesistant but 3 days before the run we signed up and went. No prior training or anything. We ran/walked and came in around 41 min. Not so impressive, but that was the first race of any sort I have done since my junior year of high school. I ran cross country and hated every minute of it, But it was different for some reason this time.We decided we were gunna start running every morning at 6. It was hard and we walked alot of the way for the first couple of weeks, but halfway through the month we got better and it wasn't so bad. My achy joints finally got used to it. My knees and ankles killed for the first few weeks, but we did great the month of June never missed a morning. July got crazy for Lacey so I kept going solo. I LOVED it!!! I just stuck my earbuds in and would run between 3-4 miles every other day.It was so thereaputic.I have ran on my treadmill off and on and tolerated it,but I really enjoyed running outdoors. Something about the cool crisp summer mornings and seeing the sunshine made all my worries and stresses disappear for awhile.I started mixing it up a bit in July.I went to a spin class Tues & Thurs at 6:30 and then ran the rest of the week except Sun. I felt great. So I ran another 5K on the 24th and came in at 31 min, improvement I was pleased with and then I ran my final 5K for the summer 2 weeks later and came in at 30 min. Now that it is colder and darker in the mornings I have let myself slip out of the habit, and I really miss it, so I am determined to figure out a way to get myself going again. So if any of you are trying to decide..I would highly reccomend it.It's a great way to get in shape!!!

August slowdown

OK...I know this is a really lame way to blog, but it is the only way I know how to get caught up. These next few posts will mostly be slideshows. After I got a couple months behind I felt overwhelmed so I seldom got on here.Mostly I just checked FB and that was it. Not a good idea to get so far behind. But nonetheless I did and this is all i can do to catchup, sorry if it annoys anyone. So I am going backwards, sorry!!! The month of August was less crazy. I was getting tired of run run running, so we stayed home more. We did manage to take the kids to seven peaks for the day with some good friends of ours,The Alveys and that was fun. We mostly wound down and started getting ready for school. You know the school shopping and not as late of nights.School stared for us on the 19th so that put a damper on the month rather quickly. It was nice for me to get them back to school they were starting to fight alot and were pretty much done being around each other all day.Layni gets to go to preschool 3 days a week this year and she was pretty excited. All of my kids love their teachers and class this year which makes it really great for me. So here are the remainder of my summer pics.

July

So July was HOT and just as busy.I kept waiting for summer to get relaxing but it never really did,but when does life ever slow down with kids, right? My sister in law Liz and I decided to take our kids to Hogle Zoo. That was fun.Layni and Tryna had never been and Corbyn couldn't remember because he was younger when I took him and Jaycelyn. We went to more reunions.Spent quality time at the pools, mostly Payson pool. We went to the Ute stampede with most of Shaun's family, Celebrated the 4th swimming and having a BBQ. Shaun took Corbyn Golfing and I took the girls to the parade. Of course we must not forget the fun times of the 24th in Fairview. I ran the 5K with Liz and many others and Jaycelyn did the 1 miler with her cousins.Later that night we went to the demolition Derby witch is always entertaining. I didn't do as well capturing pictures of everything in July, but I will post what I have. ENJOY!!!!!

June Adventures

We had lots of fun adventures to start our summer out with. Jaycelyn and Corbyn did awesome reading throughout the year so they earned a free trip to Trafalga from their school. We decided to go as a family and had so much fun. Then we went to Our annual Wayman Family reunion and quiet enjoyed ourselves there, it's always so great to get together with family on Shaun's mom side. We also had the Anderson reunion with all of Shauns Dad's siblings and their families. Our kids got to go off of the infamous cabin swing.... they had a blast!!! They would of stayed up there all day if we let them. We also made sure we made it to at least one carnival,so we spent the day with My brother Donny and his family at the Pony Express days in Eagle mountain. There is where Tryna discovered cotton candy!!!(Here is a slide to show some of the photos)

Another shearing experience

Shaun took the older kids once again with him to help sheer sheep. They also got to bring a couple of cousins, which made it even better. They really enjoy the time with their dad.Of course the horse riding and 4 wheeler didn't hurt. I am just so grateful that they have the opportunity to learn how to work along side their father and family. I am truly blessed to have such great family around us!!!
