All for Harry

Last week a friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy. When her water broke, the cord came out before the baby, causing the oxygen to the baby to be cut off. 6 short days after the baby was born he left this earth and went back to our Heavenly Fathers arms. The parents are obviously heart broken and also left with lots of expenses. To help this sweet family there has been an online auction set up by friends until saturday early evening. Donations are also accepted. You can read all about it here... www.daveclancyfamily.blogspot.com

I CAN'T believe that Libbie is already 9 weeks old!! It has gone by WAY TOO FAST!! She has been so much fun to have around. Now that things are starting to calm down around here we are starting to get the hang of this! Here's a few pictures from the past few weeks and Easter Sunday.

They LOVE their sister!!!

Nellie and Cora LOVE their little sister Libbie. Nellie is such a good helper with her and LOVES to hold her. Cora got sick the day before I came home from the hospital and ran a fever for a week, so we had to keep Libbie and Cora separated, which was VERY hard, especially since I can't lift anything heavier then 10 pounds for 6 weeks...Cora is 26 lbs, so it has been really hard to not be able to pick her up and take care of her since she has been sick. I picked her up one time...and now my C-Section incision is opened...OUCH!! But THANK GOODNESS for my WONDERFUL Mom!!!!...She has been here EVERYDAY to help me get Nellie ready for school, get Cora out of bed, and stay with my while Denver works his night shifts. She has also completely organized my house!!! I would be lost with out her!!! Thanks Mom!! I love you!!! But now Cora is finally better and she LOVES to be around Libbie (she also LOVES to try to pull her ears off, kinda scary!! oh well at least Libbie has 2 ears!! haha just kidding) I am starting to get the hang of being a mom to 3 kids, it is a lot of fun, and allot of work, but I LOVE IT!! I went to the Dr. yesterday for my 2 week post op appointment and I think that I have the BEST Dr. ever!!!! Anyone looking for a new Dr. should seriously consider Dr. Holmes!! Hes GREAT!!! I honestly believe that the reason I have Cora and Libbie is because of him, he always listens to his gut instinct and prays about his decisions. All I can say is he is GREAT!!!!!!!!! Also when I went to the Dr. yesterday he told me that I can start driving again, so I'm going to go get my hair cut today!! YAY!! my mom is going to watch all 3 girls for me. So...I'm off to get my hair chopped!!!! Hopefully my kids are good for my Mom so she will come back to help me!!! Bye!!

WENDI...

So...I was thinking...I have the greatest sister/best friend in the world, and I want everyone to know about it!!! Me and my sister Wendi have been really close to each other as long as I can remember. She is 8 years older then me, but when we are together or talking on the phone it seems like there is NO age difference. We can sit on the phone for hours and talk about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING or NOTHING at all and it is always a blast!! She even lets me talk to her while I'm asleep haha. Last week while I was in the hospital, she called to check on me everyday and came down and visited me for 8 hours one day because she knew that I didn't like to be there alone, which was allot of fun! But I don't know how good it was for me...we laughed non stop!! Which is usually a normal thing for us to do, and I expected we would laugh the whole time, but after having a C-Section its not a very good thing to do. I literally laughed so hard that I split a gut!! My incision opened up...YUCK! Wendi has always been there for me when ever I need her. I cant imagine getting through half of the things that I have gone through with out her. Its fun because we totally understand each other, even when we don't make any sense to anyone else, we get each other. Wendi I'm sorry that I'm posting this, I hope you don't get mad at me because I know that you didn't want any pictures of you on your blog...so instead I decided to put your picture on my blog :-) if you are mad...please get over it!! Because I'm sure I will need to call you again in the morning to cry to you about how overwhelmed I feel. I'm sure you will make me laugh about it and help me get through it like you always do, and if you don't answer your phone...I just might turn into a crazy person!! Scooter...You are the BEST and I love you so much and I am soooo grateful that you are my sister and my best friend!!! Thanks for always being there for me, and thanks for all of the fun times we have together!! You are the best!! And...IDY!! (sorry, inside joke!) haha Love you! Shelbi

Little Libbie Louine!

Shelbi asked me to post an update for her about her sweet Libbie. Libbie Louine (named after Shelbi's grandma) was born on 2-07-09 at 9:27am. She weighed 5 lbs. 8 oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. She started off having some trouble breathing so they ended up putting her in the NICU eventually giving her her very own and very fashionable c-pap mask to help her breath. She was on oxygen at first but it wasn't too long before she was able to breath just the room air which is progress. They took the c-pap mask off of her on Sunday night and Libbie has done great.

Libbie has also started eating which is another marker she has to hit before she can come home. This is the earliest Denver and Shelbi have ever been able to hold or feed one of their babies. Although it is a tough situation for them, being able to hold and comfort their little girl makes it a little easier to get through each hour of the day.

They told Shelbi this morning that some blood test results have come back that show signs of an infection in Libbie's blood. They are going to do a second test just to be sure that it wasn't some contamination of the test and confirm that there really is an infection. The doctor is hopeful since Libbie isn't showing any other signs of an infection. Should there be an infection, they will do a spinal tap to find out what kind of infection it is and Libbie will be on antibiotics for 7 - 10 days at which time she will remain in the NICU.

Denver and Shelbi are amazing. They are dealing with it all incredibly well as far as I'm concerned. I guess unfortunately they are used to the NICU just being part of having a baby since this is the third time. Shelbi is doing well after her C-section. She is in much more pain this time than last but I guess it's to be expected since Cora was 2 lbs. 9oz when she was born and thankfully Libbie is bigger. Shelbi will be coming home soon and leaving little Libbie in the care of her wonderful nurses but will be visiting often. I'm sure she will be posting new pictures and updates then.

Thank you for your kind comments, prayers, and concern. It really means a lot to both Denver & Shelbi as well as their family. Below are some more pictures Libbie's Uncle Brandon was able to catch while in the NICU with Shelbi as she held Libbie for the first time. Don't I have a super cute new little niece! I think so too!!

I love you guys! Hang in there. There are many prayers being offered for your family at this time and we all know that helps more than anything.

So, as long as I have been given access to Shelbi's blog, I have to to admit it feels a little empowering. I mean, I can post whatever I want! Hmm, what funny/air head story should I share with you about Shelbi? Okay, maybe I'll spare Shelbi for now since she is one who is not afraid of going after a little revenge. However, I will say this.... Shelbi, you are one of my bestest friends I've ever had! I absolutely LOVE "hanging out", laughing till are faces hurt over STUPID juvenile things, and talking 15 times a day on the phone for hours at a time. It's nice to know we "get" each other when nobody else "gets" us. (I guess that comes from you tagging along with me for the past 27 years). You are the best and I don't know what I'd do without you. I truly treasure our friendship as one of the most important things in my life. I love you! (Ah come on now....that's nothing to cry about! Stop your blubbering and wipe your nose, you got a booger!! That's right Shelb, I got your back!)

Love,

Wendi

5 more days!!!!!

I had my Dr. apointment today and my Dr. moved my C-Section up to THIS saturday the 7th!!! My blood pressure is high and Libbie's pretty small because of it. So he thinks it would be better to take her earlier before things go real bad. But he thinks she will be just fine with no problems!! Im really excited and scared at the same time!! But after 5 trips to the hospital and 3 apointments a week for 10 weeks...I AM READY!!!!

The LUCKY day is...

On February 13th, which is FRIDAY THE 13th and also, my parents anniversary...will be my scheduled C-Section. Its nice to know I have an end date in sight!! Thats only 3 weeks and 2 days away!!!! YIKES!! and also WOOHOO!! Its going to be a LUCKY day!!!!

Still here and KICK'n

I'm a little over 35 weeks pregnant now and feeling HUGE! I feel like I'm over due. I thought I was for sure going to have this baby before Christmas...I have been having lots of contractions since before then. They have given me shots to stop them, sent me to the hospital a few times to monitor Libbie, and I have 3 apt. a week since I was 28 weeks. Its starting to get VERY LONG!! Although I AM VERY grateful that I have made it this far! My Doctor thought I would for sure have her before 32 weeks. I am so excited to go in, have my C-Section, have the baby in my room with me, and bring her home when I go home!!! Ive never experienced that before. It should be fun!! I will have my C-section in about 3 weeks or so...I just cant believe it is that close and that I have made it this far!!! YAY!! (p.s. I'm scared to death to have another baby!!!)
