Swim Lessons Part II

So swim lessons have been going AWESOME! Jackson is kicking, paddling, trying to blow bubbles and lots more. Another little girl joined our lesson and it has really helped Jackson. We sing songs and play games. Lots of fun!!

Spring Time Fun

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather and playing in the yard for hours everyday. Jack loves to water the flowers just like his Daddy does.

Last week we went to the zoo with Jack's two best buds Jasper and Will. Since all the boys are walking now it was CRAZY. We had a great time though.

Easter, Easter, Easter!!!

We had a really great Easter and I took lots of pictures! Saturday morning Jack and I headed downtown to walk in the Race for the Cure. We made it about 2 miles and Jack was ready to ditch his stroller. Luckily we were really close to the car. Saturday evening we dressed Jack in his new Easter shirt and got ready to head to church. Just as we were about to walk out the door he took a drink out of his sippy cup, no big deal....right? Wrong. His cup had mustard all over the bottom of it and the mustard got all over his new shirt. So after a quick change we were off to church with Granelly and Pappy. Sunday we went to my Parents house to hunt eggs with cousin Neriah. Jack did great hunting the eggs.

(I had 11 inches cut off my hair this week and donated to Locks of Love)

So, a few weeks ago Marshall and Uncle Austin went shopping for Jack an Easter outfit. Marshall found this at a resale shop, it is this jumper made out of some weird polyester material. I have nothing against pastels, ducks, bunnies, etc. I just have chosen to not dress Jack in these type of things. Needless to say, Jack only wore this outfit for a few minutes at the house. I think you can tell by his expressions he felt the same way about the outfit that I did.

Sweet Boy

So I did my best to get a good picture of Jackson and Neriah together. Here are the best out of about 30 pictures.
Cute picture of Neriah

Both are ALMOST looking at the camera.
Where am I supposed to look? Everyone is making funny faces at us!!

I love this picture. Jackson was trying to give Neriah kisses. So cute.

Swim Lessons: Week 1

This morning we had our first swim lessons at the Fort Worth YMCA. Jackson did........Ok. By Ok I mean he screamed the entire 30 minutes. The instructor said that was completely normal. I held him the whole time, the pool was heated, there were lots of toys to play with. He still screamed. We talked about blowing bubbles in the bathtub and some other things we can try until next week. I'll keep you updated on his progress! :)

Blankie Drama!!

I may have mentioned this before, but Jackson has a blankie that he is VERY attached to. VERY attached to. He must have blankie for every nap and at bedtime and usually in the car too. Sometimes he drags blankie around the house with him just for fun. It is definitely his security blanket. Blankie will usually calm him down if he is upset. Blankie has really come in handy after Dr. appointments and.....in Sunday School where this episode of Blankie Drama begins.

Jack has been crying the entire time he is in the nursery during church. Not just a little sniffle, I have been told it is a mad, loud cry for the entire hour. So Marshall and I decided to send blankie with him to the nursery to see if it would help. Sure enough, it did! He cried when we first dropped him off and then was great the rest of the time. What a relief. When we picked him up I watched as the sweet Nursery Worker put blankie in the diaper bag and we were headed home for nap time. On the way to the car my sweet husband stopped to pull some weeds out of the church flowerbed. He is a nut about that kind of thing. I find it a little annoying sometimes but our yard is BEAUTIFUL so I don't say anything :).

We get home and put Jack in his bed and I ask Marshall for the blankie. He says it is not in the diaper bag so I go out to the car to find it. Blankie is not in the car and nowhere to be found. Jackson is getting a little irritated at this point because he is in his bed and there is no blankie. I tell Marshall to rub his back or rock him and I will run back up to the church to look for the blanket. I get there and look under cars, look in multiple rooms in the nursery. No blankie. As I am about to leave, I run into our great AUNT KELLY! I tell her what is going on and she takes me to the front desk and looks in a cabinet. There, folded perfectly is THE BLANKIE! I jump up and down, I hug Kelly, I am shaking I'm so excited. I'm pretty sure she thought I was crazy but acted like I was completely normal.

Meanwhile back at the house Jackson is completely outraged. He is screaming and Marshall is trying anything and everything to calm him down. Including giving him....a bottle. Jackson hasn't had a bottle in months.....months. Poor Marsh...I appreciate the effort.

Turns out when Marshall had stopped to pull the weeds at church, blankie fell out and someone turned it in to the lost and found. Currently we are in the process of trying to find a back-up blankie. Pappy is emailing with the creator of the "Silky!" blanket to see if we can get an exact match. Thank you Pappy! Drama done.

Bubbles!

We have had great weekends lately, just hanging out with the Little Man and family. He is getting so big. He loves animals and being outside. He now says the word "bubble" and loves it when we blow bubbles. Here a few pictures from a few weekends ago.

The Marshmellow Walk!

So, Jackson is walking around these days.....but there is a catch. Little Man will only walk to you if you are holding a marshmellow. He can walk from one end of the house to the other, no problem....but only for a little piece of sugary goodness. Any other time he has to be holding your hand, most times specifically Mommy's hand. We love playing the marshmellow game at night, but look forward to the day when he will just take off on his own without any treats. :)
