Swim lessons, Showers and Summer

We have been busy bees since last week. Neriah and Jackson took swim lessons from Ms. Kim all last week. Every morning from 9 to 10. I was exhausted just getting everyone there! On Monday Jackson would not get off the steps, hated any water getting splashed in his face but loved being in the pool. Throughout the week I watched as he cried, was chased around the pool by Ms. Kim, clawed at Ms. Kim when she made him get in the water and continually pulled on her swimsuit. By Wednesday I think Ms. Kim was exhausted too. She told him if he cried she was going to make him jump in with her. He cried.....and they jumped in. He immediately stopped crying. Its like he realized going underwater wasn't so bad. Today he is jumping off the side without a floaty, going under water and swimming all over the pool with his floaty. Playing at the pool is a totally different experience. We are so thankful for Ms. Kim.

Here are some pics of the last few days.

Grant is still the messiest eater....ever.

Marshall is totally against the boys EVER sleeping in our bed. I don't mind at all when they sneak in. As long as it is not an every night occurrence. I know they will only want to cuddle for a very few years and I try to soak up every minute.
A trip to the zoo.

Grant found the perfect pool.

Hanging out with the neighborhood crew.

To help Jackson get over his fear of water in his face I started giving the boys showers instead of baths at night. They love it.

Grant's hair is still a problem. I can't even get a brush through it without some type of leave in conditioner.

Three Amigos....most of the time.

We went with our friends to a great water park. The kids LOVED it. We will definitely go back.

This is the result of 2 hours at the water park.

It is really difficult to go grocery shopping with the boys. Marshall went to Colorado with Pappy last week for a few days so I had to take the boys shopping. They did fine, but I always end up buying some "bribe items" that weren't on my list. This picture was taken right before Jackson ripped open the cardboard and spilled all 12 yogurts all over the floor.

We went to the library last week and got our own library card. The boys picked out 6 books and we have read them every night since.

We are trying to stay cool in the crazy Texas heat. Yesterday it was still 100 degrees at 7p!

We love Malosi Jo!

To say the boys love their cousin baby Malosi is a huge understatement. They think she is the best thing since Popsicles! Especially Jackson. He always says, "Isn't baby Malosi so cute?" He can't wait to hold her. I even caught him singing a song about how cute she is.

Sweet baby sleeping pool side.

Finally I get to hold her!!

Blowing bubbles on her belly.

Sweet cousins.

I told Grant this was not appropriate attire for playing on Malosi's mat. He didn't care.

Crazy man!

Malosi (and Aunt Kelly) is always so patient with the boys constantly being in her face and loving on her. Thank you for that and for these great pictures.

Jones Family Reunion 2011

We attended the Jones Family Reunion last weekend. This is Pappy's brothers, sisters, cousins and their kids. We have so much fun at this reunion each year. It is crazy to see how much every one's kids grow each year. Pappy and Aunt Rhonda always feed us so well. I am on a veggies only diet this week given the amount of yummy food I ate at the reunion.

Pappy and Malosi relaxing down by the lake.

Grant decided to give himself a mud facial.

Aunt Kelly and the Giggly Girls. I am so excited to have lots of pictures with Aunt Kelly. Usually she is behind the camera.

Jackson woke up from his nap and needed to go potty. All the adults were on the front porch so he decided to go by himself. When he came outside he was so excited that he had pulled his shorts up all by himself!

Watermelon time!

Jackson holding Malosi....again.

Cheese!

Love these girls!!

Here is a group picture with most of the kids.....where is Jackson??

Here he is...having a terrible 3's moment. He refused to get in the picture.

Look at the size of our crew! So happy so many families were able to come. Notice the boys and I front and center not looking at the camera. I'm pretty sure I was threatening their lives if they didn't stop biting/hitting each other. Not our best moment.

Before we left on Sunday we had some time for face painting!!

The Quads!

Grant decided to have a few snacks after he got his face painted...This was all that was left.

What a wonderful weekend. So thankful for family.

Happy 5 Year Anniversary!

Leah and Marshall in the 2nd grade

June 10, 2006

Marshall and I met in Mrs. Landgraf's 2nd grade class. We lived in the same neighborhood and would ride bikes together. For valentine's day that year I remember his Mom drove him to my house. He was wearing a stone washed jean jacket and he gave me a little necklace with heart shaped pearls. I wish I still had that necklace! We were always friends through elementary, middle school, high school and college but never dated. A year after we graduated from college I moved back to Fort Worth and gave Marshall a call. We started dating and the rest is history. I am so thankful and blessed to have such an amazing friend and husband.

I love you Marsh!
