Christmas Day 2011

Happy Birthday Jesus! What a fun Christmas. It was so much fun to experience Christmas with the boys this year. I'm pretty sure Marshall enjoyed the boys toys just as much (more) as they did. On Christmas eve we had a quick photo shoot in front of the tree. The boys knew they would get to open one present after the shoot so they gave me some pretty good smiles. I don't care who you are.....those are some cute kids. While Marshall and I set the table for the Christmas lunch we were hosting the next day, the boys decided to wear their stockings around for a while. Grant was having some trouble getting his on. This is what the boys woke up to Christmas morning. Grant was up at 6:30 and Jack slept until 7:30. Grant and Daddy. Love. This. Kid. (even if he is really feisty right now. No matter what you say his reply is: don't say that! Or stop saying that) Marshall made this great toy for the boys. It is a foam board that they can hammer little plastic nails into. He did an awesome job. The boys actually helped and had no idea they were building their own gift. Breakfast. We moved the furniture around and created a Christmas lounge right off the kitchen. This is me pretending to lounge in the lounge. My Christmas tree cheese tray. Lunch. Painting with Granny. My parents, Morgan and Neriah came over for lunch along with Granelly and Pappy. We have amazing families. Too many blessings to count.

Christmas card

Granelly and Pappy took our Christmas card photo this year since our personal photographer (Aunt Kelly) moved to D.C. Jackson did awesome. Grant....not so much. The first photo is the grandparent favorite. If Grant had looked at the camera I might have agreed. It definitely shows Grant's 2 year old personality.

Tada! Merry Christmas from the Shepards!

Go tell it on the mountain

December has been packed full of fun and the boys are making the most of each day. This Christmas has been more homemade crafty than previous ones thanks to Pinterest. I am officially addicted to this website and have found some really cool things for us to do. We made playdoh yesterday and the boys have played with it much more than the store bought stuff we have.
Here are my Roudolf the blue nosed reindeer.

We went to get hot chocolate one day at a new coffee shop on Camp Bowie. This is right before Jackson spilled his full cup all over the floor. We haven't been back.

I painted this cool wooden box we found in Pappy's barn. I think he made it sometime in the 80's. I filled it with our quilts and the boys love to curl up in it.

This is Grant modeling an apron I personalized for a little friend. I gave him a sucker if he would try it on.

Some Christmas shirts.

This is after the boys Christmas program at school. I got a video but no pictures of the actual performance. Grant did great. He didn't sing We wish you a merry Christmas, but he stood on stage and held hands with his little classmates and swayed to the music. Just like he was supposed to. I was so proud of him. Jackson sang Go tell it on the mountain. He was in the very middle of the stage and sang loud and proud. What a rock star.

More homemade Christmas shirts.

Daddy made the boys a deer blind.

We went with Granelly to see Santa Claus the musical at Casa MaƱana. Both boys loved it and sat through the entire show. I think Granelly and Marshall had the most fun though.
