JY Bros Trip # 3

So like father like sons, the boys have really taken to the JY Ranch. Dad (Pappy) and I have been hunting at this really special place since I was 5. Jack made his first trip when he was 3, and Grant last fall at 2. It's amazing how these guys can show us things about the ranch we haven't appreciated in decades. We do ALOT of hiking, telling stories, eating candy, looking for arrowheads and just driving around in the cruiser. They love it. We haven't shot much this year but have had a ton of fun. I don't think I can or want to go with out them! Don't get me wrong, we still hunt but for...cheetahs, hyenas, pigs, deer, turkeys, coyotes, bobcats, and jack rabbits. We just haven't shot anything yet this year!

The boys in a creek bed after a long hike. We've driven over the creek for years, just never really explored it!

Learning from Pappy how the windmill pumps water without electricity. By the way, he really knows how they work.

On top of the world! It's really just a dirt pile by a dredged out tank. But, we sure felt like it :)

Grant the "Line Leader". He was our guide this trip. We didn't really get in a hurry...ever.

I'll try to start posting some. The boys are growing like crazy and are keeping us outside more and more. Thanks to Pappy for making it possible for us to go to the JY and learn so much together!

December catch up part 2

We decorated Christmas cookies.

Christmas Eve we had dinner with my side of the family. It was a really fun evening.

I monogrammed some PJs.

It was a white Christmas and snowed!

Marshall spent most of Christmas working on his new project.

We went to Braden's birthday party!

December catch up

Uncle Austin came to visit.

We put up the Christmas decorations.

The boys did great in their Christmas programs at school. Jackson's class sang We Three Kings. Grant's class sang Joy To The World.

Jackson has been taking piano lessons this fall he had his first recital and did Amazing. Mary had a Little Lamb has never sounded so good.

We took the boys to six flags for the first time. They loved all the rides. Neither boy was scared of any ride. No fear.

They snuggled with Granelly.

Jackson talked to Santa. Grant did not.

We set up PaPaw's train. Huge hit with the Shepard boys.

To be continued......

Leah

To the JY with Pappy and Daddy

The boys headed to the ranch on Saturday and had a blast. They love riding around in the cruiser and going on hikes. They found lots of animal tracks, some pigs and saw some deer.

Instead of circling toys they want in a catalog they circled scopes.

When they arrived home on Sunday Jackson was wearing the same clothes he left in.....

Leah
