Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!!!

We had our first official snow of the year yesterday. It rained, hailed, and thundered almost all morning. Then shortly after I got home from work (around 3 pm) it started snowing. We went to Spanish Fork for lunch then on to Springville to visit Wal-Mart. We thought if we hung around Wal-Mart long enough it would change back to rain. We were wrong. We had to brush a nice thick layer of slushy snow off the car when we left. Geddy was fascinated with the big fat flakes falling out of the sky. I was going to take some pictures to put on here, but by the time we got home it had stopped and we hadn't got as much here as Springville had. We are supposed to have another one this next weekend. Why it only storms on the weekends, I don't know! I guess we just aren't meant to get any yard work done. I'll have to try and get the lawns mowed in the morning while Geddy takes his nap. Hopefully they will be dry enough then. Geddy has not repeated his all-nighter, but he hasn't woken up more than once any night since then.

Miracles Do Happen!

For the first time in his 14 months, Geddy slept through the entire night! I put him to bed at 8pm last night. He didn't wake up until 7:45am this morning. And he woke up chattering and laughing with his teddy bear that he sleeps with, not crying. I did not sleep the entire night, I was afraid something was wrong with him since he hadn't woke up crying. So I spent half the night watching TV in the living room and listening to him breathing on the monitor. Hopefully this is the first of many more sleepful nights and then I can get some sleep, once I am used to it.

Yesterday afternoon I left the living room for a few minutes and when I came back Geddy was hiding from me. I quickly found him when I heard his little giggles. He loves to hide under blankets and pillows and then when we find him he bursts out of them, laughing. I told him it looked like I was going to have a Geddy-sandwich for lunch.

The following video was also taken yesterday. I bought him a new "toy box" (a.k.a. a cheap laundry basket) for his toys in the living room. He had much more fun dumping it out and then giving his puppy and elmo a ride in it. It is a little bit long, and kind of bouncy (I was standing and following him around), but turn up the volume and listen to his sound effects and his laugh. I think they're worth it.

Amazing the difference one year makes!

Wow! It has been exactly one year since I took this picture. He was so little. His face was always expressive, even at that age. He loved (and still does) to raise and wiggle those little eyebrows.
Little did I know just how expressive and silly he would get in just one short year. Now that he has discovered his tongue, there are endless possibilities. In church on Sunday he was waving, 'hello' to everyone and then sticking his tongue out. I took this picture yesterday. I was trying to get him to smile so I could send a picture to his Dad at work. At least there is a smile behind the tongue!

My Boys

I like to call this one "The Patient One and the Pestering One". Geddy loves his 'big brother', Spanky so much that he is constantly wanting to give him hugs and kisses. Before Geddy was born, we were really worried about how Spanky would react to him. Spanky was our only 'child' for 8 years. He has adjusted quite well. If Geddy gets too bothersome, Spanky will swat at him, but the claws are generally retracted. For the most part, Spanky just stays out of the living room if he isn't in the mood to tolerate Geddy's attention. I think they will become great friends as Geddy gets older.

Geddy's Fever

I had planned on putting more stuff on here earlier in the week but life has been a bit crazy since the weekend. Geddy has been fighting a virus of some kind since Saturday. The main symptom has been a high fever. It has been bouncing from 101 all the way up to 104.4. Took him to the Dr. one day and they said to just give him Motrin and Tylenol alternately until the fever was gone. Well, the next day is when his fever when over 104 so we took him to the ER. He was not really responding to me and his temperature was so high, I thought it best to get him looked at again. Of course, the Dr. there said the same thing our family Dr. had said the day before. Since then he has had some good hours where his temp. is almost normal and he can play a little bit and then his temp. will go back up and he will be fussy and just want Mom-mom to hold him. Right now he is actually sleeping in his crib. He has been there a couple of hours, so hopefully he is getting some restful, healing sleep. Now if I could just get some that would be great. Unfortunately, I have to catch up on the housework and e-bay shipments. The first picture and this next one were taken Tuesday afternoon when Geddy was feeling a little better.
Geddy hasn't had much of an appetite since Saturday. But he sure was happy when Dad brought him home some Popsicles Tuesday evening. Since then he has decided to eat some Mac and Cheese and some yogurt. Hopefully his throat will stop hurting so he can eat a little more normally. He has lost about a pound in the last five days.
Not much is going on for Scott and myself. Work keeps us busy, as does Geddy. Have a great week everybody.

Silly Geddy

Well, it seems like video worked for everyone so I will be adding more soon. Geddy has been quite active lately. He has become obsessed with climbing our piano to get to all the fun little things we keep up there.
Yesterday he had quite the active afternoon. He was going crazy laughing, spinning around, throwing himself off the couch, and burying himself in blankets and pillows. I got so many cute videos, I can't decide which one to add. I will pick one for now. This one is cute because he decided to "catch" the ball in a different way while playing with his dad yesterday. You also can see a bit of his "fancy feet" at the beginning. "Fancy feet" is his favorite thing to do.

Video

I am going to try a video. Please let me know if it works or not. Geddy is always doing funny things, but I haven't found a successful way to send video clips from our digital camera through e-mail.

The video I originally wanted to try didn't work. Blogger kept rotating it sidewise and it just wasn't as cute that way. This one shows one of his favorite pasttimes. Banging with empty soda bottles, thus the nickname "Bam-Bam". If this works, I promise there will be better quality and funnier videos to come.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

I decided to finally join the rest of my sisters and have a blog. Sarah, I am not sure if you have a blog, but I know you have a website because I was just looking at your cats' pictures the other day. Hopefully by doing this I will be able to spend my e-mailing time with more personal e-mails instead of sending out mass ones just so everyone can see the most recent pictures of Geddy. I want to make a couple of clarifications about my lists. I am not copying Beth and listing all the books I've read. Mainly because I don't want to copy Beth. But also because I have to read so many books for work that it would be a ridiculously long list and a lot of them aren't worth mentioning. So, I will list the ones I really liked and the appropriate age level. The second list is our favorite websites. I just thought it would be fun to put some links there for websites we know are safe and fun that we thought others in our family would enjoy too.
