the audition was successful and so jon and me got into hall 11 jam band... nex up is mid autumn festival... dunno wat's going to happen...

"...yue liang dai biao wo di xinnnnnn" *shudder*

i dunno if it's just me or wat, but sometimes i feel that i'm hanging on to the modules by the edge. i guess it's those darn projects... coz it's a group effort and you just can't simply do everything by yourself. at the same time, with more pple means more conflict with regards to time, schedule, work load etc. personally i feel somethings just can't be measured and to bicker about every little detail just makes life difficult. the deadlines seem far but you know that there isn't much time left. yes, at the end of the day it's the grades, but i prefer to look at it from a perspective that the more effort i put in, the more i learn.

" 'cher, 'cher, got come out in the exam or not? " exams questions... is that all we care about? so what if we got a lot of head knowledge ready to regurgitate but fail to understand or apply it in our lives. reality is cruel.

da bao-ed big mac for dinner. which reminds me...

woman as explained by mathematicians

yesterday was quite busy with activities..

it's tutorials and lectures as usual, then after that attended campus crusade crossroads in the evening with jon and ee fai... and got to know more pple. pple from same hall, other halls, aiyah basically the whole world lah. jeremy (my church band leader) happened to be my disciple group leader!! but he must have zia zua coz he didn't call me... hahahaha

after that jon and me went headed back to hall and it was about 9 plus already. practiced "sweet child o mine" and "november rain" solo just like last night... but this was a last minute rehearsal already. jon played "SCoM" solo while i played the backing track and then the other way around for "NR". i tink they're rather impressed, since we're like the only two rockers there. i couldn't really catch their expression, i was more focused on what i was doing. and i guess being exposed to jamming, performing and all that gives you a steady nerve to do auditions.

i prolly wouldn't be able to do that 2 or 3 years ago. gives me the jitters. performing to 100 pple far away is different from performing to 20 pple close up.
my IT tutor is really a maverick and oddball. he plays battletech and dungeons and dragons games. pretty cool.

at least im left with only accounting tutorial to finish. which im doing now hahah XD

fixed up my laptop... linked it to the desktop and such... installed utilities, applications, games... the only thing is don't have ms office. no worries, will be remedied soon XD

hall life is getting better. loners will flock together one. actually, didn't go hall orientation really means you won't get to know much pple, and pple will have their own clicks already. but it also means you're not obliged to hang out. signed up for jam band audition with jon... see how it goes.

friday's hall activity: buffet dinner at hall canteen followed by ice skating at jurong fuji ice palace. ice skating was pretty cool... i tink it's slightly easier than roller blading. can go fast easily, but more unstable. everyone was zooming around... there's like 100+ pple easily and the whole ice surface turned into water. very very slippery... and not very nice to fall into (get totally wet). couples holding hands zooming around... fake bubble snow... awwwwwwwwwwwwww *cough cough*

mum-turned-kid: *eyes flooded mouth quivering* because thE STUPID PRINCIPAL WON'T LET YOU HAVE A PLACE HERE *BOOOO HOOOO HOOOO*!! AH SOH'S DAUGHTER AND AH NGEOW'S SON SO LUCKY, GOT THE PLACES, AND THEN YOU GOT NO PLACE, IT'S BECAUSE OF THEM TOO!! son: huh? find another school find another school loh?

mum-turned-kid: *WAILING* WHAT?!?! *SMACKS SON IN THE HEAD* IT'S NOT 'FIND ANOTHER SCHOOL LOH'... IT AFFECTS YOUR FUTURE!! IF YOU DON'T GET INTO THIS SCHOOL... *SHUDDER* IT'S... IT'S... *CHOKES* IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!! *WAILING* YOU GONNA GO TO ITE!! THE OTHER LOUSY SCHOOLS WILL ONLY DO YOU HARM AND DESTROY YOUR MOST WONDERFUL FUTURE AS CEO OF MICROSOFT CUM BRAIN SURGEON CUM SURVEYOR-GENERAL OF SINGAPORE CUM DIRECTOR OF CHARITY EARNING BILLIONS OF BUCKS WHILE DRINKING KOPI!! HOW THEN CAN MY LIVING IN BUNGALOW DREAM AND OLD TAI-TAI COME TO FRUIT? *BAWLS* YOU WON'T GET INTO R.I. AND THEN WON'T GO INTO R.J. AND THEN WON'T GET INTO HARVARD! IT'S THE END!!!!!! YOU WILL BE A ROAD SWEEPER!! *FALLS TO FLOOR AND THROWS TANTRUM*

son: huh.

and as for the everitt road case. it's just unbelievable how human behaviour can degnerate into something like that. i agree with the judge. one moment she can be a respectable lecturer in school, and the other moment, a green monster with genes spliced with a tiger on speed at the same time. udder madness.

got homework already, but once you can do it, it does feel good doesn't it?

selin's mum said something. but then it's hope, faith, love. the greatest of these is love.

and so school starts, pretty cool ya know... new challenges, new friends, old friends, new place, hostel living, new lifestyle.

i guess after 2 years of ns, this is somewhat welcome.

i actually enjoyed the first lecture =) gonna join sailing and campus crusade hopefully.

went through the subject registration system and they really got some interesting elective modules like "are you ok? mental health in singapore", "forensic science" (think csi)... "astronomy" seems quite interesting... maybe i consider taking it up.

happy national day all, we should be thankful for a peaceful country =)

been to school yesterday, a lil anxious and excited at the same time.

during the welcome ceremony, while the professors who gave a speech talked about time management, don't let work pile up (and to be politically correct, remember to have some fun too), the distinguished alumnus, mr teo ser luck, some paliamentary secretary and ironman, advocated HAVE FUN and LOTS OF IT. it was pretty funny when he related he was a struggling student but an avid sportsman.

cleaned up much of the hostel, just the floors need a lil bit more brushing up. gonna bring much more stuff over if there's vehicle. lotsa china pple around. almost all the time in the hostel area i saw china girls.

church band practice tomorrow.... yeeeeaaah =D

gonna buy a toshiba tecra M5-2411 laptop!

i watched lady in the water. it's pretty good imo.

the more i think about the movie and it's "underlying" themes / topics, the more intriguing it is. i don't tink the average movie goer will think much about it, it's just a fantasy show. some of the plot is rather silly too. i tink directors, esp artistic ones, tend to put subtle themes into their movies but most pple won't notice. perhaps it's a satisfaction for them that they do understand.

if you look at the show on it's face value, it's a 3 star. if you look at it as i do, it's a 4 star.

one major theme in the movie is that it is anti-war. everyone's tv or radio is tuned in to something about war somehow. the pple in the movie are from a diverse racial background. there's korean, hispanic, caucasian, indian etc, not to mention they really have diverse personalities. i tink 1 conversation was a punchline, "who could be so arrogant and narrow-minded as to determine other pple's role?" something like that. i seriously think it's poking at some particular world leaders nowadays.

i feel like an e lit student haha. i like e lit, i just hated it's rigidity. there's always a "right" answer. pui.

matriculated online and got my timetable, i think it's not so bad, not sure though:
monday - tutorial (1430-1630)
tuesday - sem? + lecture (0830-1130, 1430-1630)
wednesday - sem (0830-1230 or 1030-1230) YEEEHAA
thursday - tutorial + lecture (0830-1030, 1430-1630)
friday - LONG WEEKEND YEEEHAAA

what is sem ah? anyone can enlighten me? stupid monday 1430-1630... abit duh. so this is how it's gonna be for 13 weeks.. until the end of the year.
