Ytd's PE was pretty fun...Played badminton with the girls in my class: hui ling si hui, wei wei, shuang han. Wei wei was Ponsana, I was Susilo & Hui Ling was Lin Dan. Hohoho!!!!!!!!
Olympics Darling #1: Ronald Susilo
Haiz....Ronald was out of the competition. So sad.....I felt pretty numb abt on wed but when i read the article in Newpaper, i felt really sad for him.
'When told he had been featured on the front pages of the newspapers here, Susilo's voice cracked.
"Oh no. I'm so ashamed of myself. I feel so sorry for everyone back home who was watching my game on television. I can imagine how disappointed they are....I'm so ashamed. Please help me tell Singapore I'm so sorry to have let them down. and i want to thank every Singaporean for supporting me all the way in my first olympic Games, and givving me a chance to try for a dream."
Still, his stirring Olympic adventure has shown budding young Singaporean players that the gap at the top of the badminton world is not that great, if they choose to work hard with their given talent'
Oh my gosh...i cannot even start to imagine his guilt, for letting down everyone who was watching the match on wed night.
Some words to Ronald Susilo:
Thanks for bringing us along your Olympic journey. Though short, it was certainly colourful and uplifting. Thanks for making us jump up in joy, our palms sweat; for making us cry out in anguish, shed tears of sadness and making us feel what we have never felt before: truly proud to be a Singaporean. Everyone here in Singapore is proud of you. You have shown us that nothing is impossible & you are a source of inspiration for me. All the best~!!!
Did you ever know that you're my hero
And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings.
Olympics Darling #2: Ponsana Boonsak
He was really cool...look at those behind-the-arm shots! WoW! O_O He actually hit the shuttlecock & the shuttlecock could still go over the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) *jaw drops* At one point, Ponsana had to dive for the ball but he still got it over and managed to scramble for the next shot, which he returned on his knees. W-O-W. Heh....actually he's quite cute...looks like Jung (Iron Ladies)/Nomura Mansai (Onmyouji).
On Wed, he played for his dad, who would have turned 56 the next day had he not passed away 6 yrs ago while Boonsak was in China for a training stint. My heart really went out to that guy...Yepz, hope his dad will be proud of him for being the first Thai to reach the Olympic badminton semi-finals.
Too bad he lost to Taufik yesterday in the semis. Grrrr...was having the damn 2-hr chem tutorial during his match so i couldn't watch him....shit shit shit....
Olympics Darling #3: Kitajima Kosuke
Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's so cute...hee hee....he won the gold in the 100m & 200m breaststroke ..So happy for him!!!! Saw him pumping his fists in the air and going "YEAAAH!!!!!" after he won the 200m breaststroke. Totemo inspiring. He's Japanese, an Asian, yet he could still win in a field origianlly thought to have been dominated by Caucasians. Really proud of him =D
Before the start of the race, he grabbed the logo of the Japanese flag on his jacket
a la Halu in
Pride. And he was so cute during the awards ceremony...smiled that typical PR smile. He seems pretty tall for an Asian(around 175?) and he's only 21. *heez*
Shall remember his "YEAAAH!!!!!" to spur myself to work hard for my A's....i wanna have that "YEAAAH!!!!!" feeling too when i get my results next year.
As the medallists were walking out of the swimming complex, suddenly, Kitajima did sth very cute, very jap...haha...i dunno how to explain it but it's just so darn
cute. =D
Sigh.....wish Susilo's fight in badminton wasn't over...but it was. Ahhh...the beauty of events like the Olympics. It's so stirring to watch those sportsmen fight. Not just for the gold but more to achieve their dreams. I was so damn touched, watching them grit their teeth & hang in there, fight back when they're losing and their smiles & yells of joy. Yesterday, i also mourned the crushed dreams of Susilo & this Singaporean Idol contestant. She could really sing but couldn't advance to the next round because of her looks. So sad, watching her face crumble under the disappointment and then seeing the shots of her a few days earlier when she got through the auditions. Then, she was jubiliant and literally hopping with ecstacy and her face was lit up with hope. When i saw her i started tearing & eventually cried. Through her lost hopes, i tot back on Susilo.
Kanashii~ Haiz...the route to pursuing one's dreams......u'll keep thinking, when will that day come? And the most impt qn: Will it
ever come?
To that girl (i forgot your name): all the best! Keep on doing what you like! I'm sure you can acieve your dreams one day~!!
Yes! Right now i've found my direction for my future and my A's because of them. (And because of the maths test, through which i found out i couldn't do complex no.s & curve sketching *horrors!*) If Susilo can make it to the Olympics, i, too, must buck up & get my results!!!! RAAAAAAAA~!!!!!!
Good luck to Li Jiawei for the table-tennis semi-finals!
Jia you jia you jia you~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
