What I do on Sunday afternoon

My wonderful roommies bought the most awesome Christmas Tree for our most awesome house, aka 'The Club House.' 'TaH duh, isn't she beautiful?,' the tree that is.

I just got a new fancy Kitchen Aid blender and I hadn't tried it out yet. Sunday afternoon we had some friends over for dinner. I was in charge of making mash potatoes, but we don't have a masher. I had a brilliant idea that I could blend it up and make pseudo mashed potatoes. Boy was I wrong. So I tried out my blender, and I got a gooey potato mixture as seen below. I thought I would have to throw it away but I got creative. Adrienne told me to try to make potato biscuits. To my surprise they turned out to be delicious! So I learned a lesson, if your try something that isn't working then make a few changes and you might create a masterpiece.

Unlimitied....

"The first step in moving towards our dreams is admitting first that you're worthy of such a destination. The rest, all falls into place. Spirituality contains alot of paradoxes. One of them is to trust in God and let go. By surrendering you actually gain the ability to heal, grow and cope with even the most difficult circumstances. That is the place where the miracles happen, and they do. When you let go, the magic starts. Imagine not having to be afraid and hurt. You just know it will be ok. It is possible to live like that."

The good, the bad, and the UGLY

BECAUSE WE GOTTA BEAUTIFUL HOUSE TO CELEBRATE!!!

'Tis the season for parties! Since we just moved we thought the occasion appropriate for an ugly sweater party. We did have quite a few superific sweaters! We had food perfect for a chocolate fountain but didn't have the fountain, and enough pomegranate 7-up left over that we could bathe in it.

Yes my mom did have a blanket like that, yes he does plug into the wall to light up, and she can walk like an Egyptian.

Yes the club house also allows pets. This is Gulrie the Gorilla, our dear friend John thought he might like a night out at the club house and Gulrie got some attention from the ladies.

Pucker up! Everybody gets a kiss under the mistletoe. A little 'Blue Steel' might do the trick as well.

THANK YOU

An act of giving thanks; an expression of gratitude, especially to God: a hymn of thanksgiving.

10 words I think of when I say 'Thanksgiving':
Pilgrims
Turkey
Indians
Maize
Harvest
Smorgasbord
Family
Pie
Gratitude
Blessings

Sneaky sneaky! Little hands can't wait when their tummies are talking.

Living a few hours from my brothers place has its benefits:
1.) gives me a break from the norm
2.) I get to hang out with family
3.) I get to indulge in the best food ever (thank you Cynthia).
4.) and the 3 top reasons are my nieces and nephew. (the pictures below are evidence).

One of my top 10 thanksgivings to remember

Thomasin's own little Pumpkin Pie.

Just a show-and-tell of the best Thanksgiving dinner that I've had. Turkey, Potatoes, yams, Cranberry sauce, cherry salad, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, coconut cream pie, cherry pie, and chocolate pecan pie, stuffing. It was delectable!

Marta eyes it and is gonna go for it!

Chi-town

A visit to CHI-town
I went to Chicago for a visit, reasons I still really can't understand but had a good time non-the-less. I wandered around, more like a lost puppy dog than anything else. The "L" just isn't a organized as the DC metro back at home. I had a marvelous time. I enjoyed the best food ever, nice weather, a Bulls game, Navy Pier, a Blues joint, yet of all things that I did the most memorable moment was the hardest one. After two years I had to say good bye to my best friend. But come what may and love it, I must take the good with the bad.
The Bean and I

Chicago by night.

Food at the Bongo Room was the best and most delictable breakfast food that has touched my taste buds. And I've never been to a free Zoo before which was fun...I am a child at heart, never quite grown up from enjoying the simple things. I saw a friend that I grew up with as well, it is amazing that after so many years you can get together with someone and laugh as if no time had passed. She is as beautiful as ever, and living her dreams. Visiting with her made me realize that I can't let go of my dreams and I need to find someone that will support and motivate the fulfilling of these dreams and not mock me for my ambitions.
I loved Chicago and everything it had to offer. I decided if I got accepted to grad school there I would have no problem moving there.

No place like HOME

Align Center
House on Brandon Ave!!!

The best house on the block. This my home, something I can call a blessing. It has been evidence to me that the Lord is watching out for me.
AKA the club house, the bomb.com, and

I can finally come home and say to myself, 'Simone welcome home.' I have a place where I belong, and I have a family. This is a shout to my dos familia. I love our home, our kitchen with black and white floor, my king bed, the sun room, the pool, the yard, and my dreams of what is gonna be one amazing veggie garden!

Isn't it fabulous?!

An UN-Unbirthday

What is age? A sign of your wisdom and experience, not necessarily how many wrinkles you have.

I love you bowl so my roommie not only got a little group together, but made me dinner and a birthday poster. Another roommie made me one of my favorites, Carrot Cake and she hung balloons and streamers around the house.

A little smokey...and I only have 26 candles.

LUCKY STRIKE, LUCKY DAY!!
