I'll Have 2 Flies With My Coffee...

This is what greeted me this AM when I opened the shutters. I always open the shutters
while thanking GOD for the day and safe keeping during the night.
My vision was somewhat fuzzy so I had to do a double-take.
Needless to say I did not need a stimulant in order to get the ole brain started.
Instead of reaching for the coffee pot, I reached for the camera.

He has goo on my windows....

I ventured outside to grab a few shots but did not like his stance
so I quickly dashed back inside.

After a morning of flies and lengthy photo shoot its time to rest but not too soundly,
after all he has our home to protect.

GOD bless your day and may HE keep you all safe.

He Walks On Butter

"He Walks On Butter"

(click on photos to enlarge)

 My lilies in the front of the house are blooming a rich buttery yellow.

For 3 weeks now, to my delight I have a daily visiting "Katydid".
Each morning or shall I say, all throughout the day I venture out to see how he is doing.

This past weekend he vanished, my heart sank for I feared the worst;
 but to my delight yesterday (Tuesday), he is back.

 I was out this AM having coffee with him.
He has become quite the listener and no longer runs behind a petal when I approach.

I am careful not to overstay my welcome so I left him in peace.

GOD sure does bless in many ways and some gifts are as simple as flowers and bugs.

Got Wood?

I know having termites would be worst...but the wasps are eating up the wood on my wind chimes. Daily they come to strip off more wood. Wonder if I could put out that old table I want stripped and see if they would eat the finish off of it then I would not have to do it myself.
OH WELL... this made for a good photo shoot.

Feeding The Gang

During this awful cold snap here in the south I can’t help but feel for the feathers and fur outside. Via GOD’s blessings, we are able to keep His creatures fed. We had so many come for breakfast this AM, I could not keep up snapping them all. Missing are the doves, mockingbirds and robins; they were the first to eat and run. I had no idea that robins ate seed; for years at the other house where we lived I never saw a robin eat seed, only bugs.

My favorite backyard birds are hummers and woodpeckers.

Sharing.

May GOD keep you all safe and warm.

Imperfections

We all have imperfections that can make us who we are or they can break us down.
God allowed you to have that for a reason; so go let your light shine for His glory.

"Lazarus Lizard"

Today I was looking out the window looking for my spider in the crepe myrtle and I spotted something green laying on one of the crepe myrtle limbs. At first I thought it was a leaf but when it moved and I saw what it was; I was so excited my eyelids curled backwards with glee.

Once we were hosting a rather large dinner gathering and after the main crowd left, a few close friends remained to help clean up. Well you know great ideas either start while in the bathroom or in the kitchen; lets just say our bathroom was not that large for a gathering of 6 so we settled in the kitchen. All comfy and with stomach filled we chatted over coffee and for some reason we hit on the subject of lizards. One thing led to another and it escalated into one big heavy detailed conversation right down to developing a company, trademark and products; all because of a lizard. We knew we first has to have a name and after many names were thrown into the hat, this one stuck...... "Lazarus Lizard". I wont bore you with the other details but this idea has stuck with us since the latter 1980's.

Each time I see a lizard I think back to that late night conversation in the kitchen with dear friends and a wild imagination.

This is what I saw looking out the window so
I grabbed my camera and tiptoed closer.

Is he not one cutie pie!

These photos were taken with a Canon 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens. I have not been using this lens, its been its original box since I got my camera as I usually use my 50mm 1/4 lens or my 18-135mm lens.
Goodness, this is not a bad lens to be a kit lens.

Smile pretty for the camera... Say "Cheese"!!
Gasteracantha cancriformis
Crab Spider or Skull Spider
Update, added a few more pictures.

This is one for my record books. I was cleaning up around the shrubs and thank goodness I looked up or I would have run into this rather large web. It was hanging in the crepe myrtle tree. This spider is no larger than a green pea. Between the non-stop wind blowing in all directions and me weaving, It was difficult to get a good clear shot at any angle but I tried.

I  googled "skull spider"; that is what this guy look like to me. I found his name, "Gasteracantha Cancriformis".  I read they are harmless to humans and will not bite; they are beneficial to the garden and they are prevalent in the south.

Reminds me of Panda eyes.
BUT can you see the face, eyes, nostrils and the teeth?

Early Saturday AM I got out to see if my friend was still there.
He was repairing his web.

Okay, take my picture but HURRY!

During our rainy days I was watching the birds have fun eating berries from a tall tree, I have no idea what the name of this tree is, its not your typical holly tree. The backyard birds love the berries and this one particular mockingbird spotted me hanging out my kitchen door with camera in hand so it flew over to the wind-chime rod to get a closer look at me. He/she took a few seconds off from berry picking to look me up and down, I had to snap quickly as it he/she tired of me after a few frames.

God bless your day and keep you all safe.

Tale Of 2 Hummers

I still am recouping, feeling better but still need to take it easy a few more days. I have been enjoying the hummers lately, sitting at the kitchen window and watching their antics. The sun in out and they are in rare form fighting over the feeders.

Hope you enjoy...
These are not the greatest shots, they were shot through dual pane windows.

Hungry Hummers

Click on photos to enlarge...

Just a few pics from my kitchen window today.
It’s raining so I had to shoot from inside, I am shooting through insulated dual-pane windows so things are not as clear as "I" would like. I kinda' miss my old house
with the drafty old single pane window. I got some great shots out those panes.

I have 3 hummers battling for the 2 feeders and it’s a trip trying to capture them.

God bless you all and keep you all safe this holiday.

Early Morning With GOD's Creation

Its been a rather hectic week, I seem to never accomplish what I set out to do. Its useless to make a schedule on Monday for the week... Will have to revamp my way of thinking and maybe just fly by the seat of my pants on a daily basis; then I would not feel so defeated. I had hope to take some time just for "ME" and take my camera out shooting but that was not meant to be; but this morning was a perfect time. Hubby is teaching a soccer class and was out the door by 7AM. After 2 cups of coffee I was out the door checking out the bees and butterflies. For now, this post is for the bees... the butterflies are for later....

(click on the photo to enlarge and then click again to get
even larger. Look at all that pollen trapped within his fur.)

This bee was so busy and it was difficult capturing him, I kept chasing him around the bush,
but after many frames, I finally got a good shot...
GOD shall supply all his needs, the flowers were loaded with pollen.
SO if our LORD supplies his needs, then why are we to question
that HE will not supply ours for those that love the LORD.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Click on this pic as well...
This is how I am feeling with only 2 hours of sleep...
Could not shut my mind off. I was up reading the bible studying Jude which took
me over to reading about Esau. Fascinating story about two brothers; whoever
said the bible was boring, they sure
 have not taken the time to read it.
My prayer is that the LORD is apart of your daily life and you come to
know Him and give your heart to Him.
Like Tiny Daggers
A nice place to relax (on papa's head) after a hard day of flyin', eatin' and chewin' up tree limbs.
Please, enough with the rain!!!!!
When will we see the sun?
We have needed the rain for so long and everything looks so green and lush.
We thank the lord so much for the rain, its been a blessing.
We pray that He will now let us have a few days of sunshine so things
can dry out, its so humid, even my orchid has mildew on its petals.
Flowering Sedum.
So that is what this plant is...
Finally have my computer back, that was the longest 6 days and then to have to re-install the software, figure out what was gone and what changed. So much has changed and I will have to figure it out as time goes on. Thank the lord our computer friend was able to save my old C drive with all my info on it so I can go back and rescue stuff to put on the new drive.
Hubby allowed me to get a new lens, A Canon 50mm F1/4 prime lens. This AM was the first time since its arrival 6 days ago, that I have been able to test the waters.  Am use to zooms so this is a challenge with this fixed lens but so far, I like its clarity.
This is another plant I rescued not knowing what it was. For the longest it looked like Broccoli but now I see its a Sedum and its buds just started to open this AM.
In Jesus name I pray the Lord will keep you all safe.
A Taste Of Fall
Pumpkin anyone?
I always know Fall is on the way when I see the poison ivy that is climbing up my neighbors tree, starts to turn as well as the leaves on the Poplar tree. Even though we still have hot days into October, these signs I see sure put a spark in my step.
One of the little plants I rescued (not knowing what it was) flowered...
sniff...
It just has one lonely flower, but oh the show it gave me.
God bless and keep you all safe.
GOD's Stained Glass
"GOD's Stained Glass"
Accept for resizing these are SOOC.
Thank you Lord for creating such beauty all around us and the
ability to be able to capture it to share.
These are part of the dying plants I rescued in hopes of giving them a second chance.
I am pleased they are all doing so well.
How many chances do you think GOD will give you to get to know his
son "Jesus" and to know HIS way is the only way to salvation.
Please don't put it off, for we do not know if we will live to see tomorrow.
All one has to do is look at the news on TV.
 How many of those dear souls thought they had more time?
Fire in the hole!!!!
looks like a rolling flame in there.
What is on the inside of your heart?
GOD keep you all safe is my prayer.
"Olympics At The Lake"
There is a piece of heaven in a little town called Pine Lake. Its so peaceful there and one can get lost in its silence.
While there, with camera in hand, leaning over to take the picture you see of the dragonfly...
I was greeted by a gentleman jogging and one biking...
It reminded me of the Olympic with the activity.
As I was looking around.... I see the insects and animals were having their own as well.
I just sat back, watched and captured a few events.
"love the pollen that is falling out."
There was so much more going on, but it was just too hot to hang
around much longer.
I headed home where it was cool to await
updates on TV, to see who won what metals.
I hope this put a smile on your face, a chuckle in your heart and a peaceful spirit.
GOD keep you all safe.
