haha... i am outstanding and brilliant!!! i hope so... haha
hmm... it looks a bit yin yang but dun get me wrong... i dun believe in yin yang or feng shui or what have you kinda superstitions... of course it is good to have things in moderation... to have a balance like the yin yang stuff... but sometimes.., many-a-times, you cant get enough of a good thing... more is better... and in that case, who in the right mind would want to act in moderation??? unless you are a monk on a mountain-top... haha... sorry to be so crude..
i dun know about you, but i do think that some concepts in feng shui are actually based on common sense... like being able to see the sea, river or other water bodies from your home would give you "good luck" because water-ways always make good business and living near them makes more sense and gives you more opportunities for business, jobs and wealth... think about it... all major cities in the world are located along a water-way or next to one... except maybe las vegas... which oddly offers lots of "good luck" and big money... haha.. well, this would also mean that your home has the advantage of the maritime effect... having warmer winters and cooler summers... yeah... anyway, a house facing the north-south direction means that you dun get the bright early morning sun or the hot afternoon sun, which is good... placing a huge mirror opposite the main windows dun chase away "evil"... it simply makes your room appear bigger, brighter and more airy and spacious, it makes you and the house feel/look richer, and that is always good... haha... having the foot of your bed face the door is not bad luck but is just plain unsightly when you are sleeping... especially if you are a gal... and if your bed's foot faces the window... you cant sleep, nap or rest properlly after sun-rise because of the day-light shining through the window and disturbing your sleep... if you realise, when lying down or reclining, you will naturally face the ceiling or the foot of the bed... you will never look "up" or towards the bed head... yeah... and not having proper rest/sleep simply means a tired you... which means low energy levels and morale... poor work performance and therefore the so called "bad luck". Placing a "good luck" fountain in your home just looks pretty... and the part about it bringing good luck is just bullshit... it just earns the geomancer some extra money... yeah... haha.. to me, feng shui makes sense... it makes common sense.. and it has nothing to do with bringing luck or chasing away evil... while the location and position of your home and its furnitre does affect your life in some ways... it has nothing to do with luck... its just logical cause and effect...
well, that is just my take on feng shui... its common sense... thats it... thats all it is... and you should not think that it is more than that... you may disagree and to you, i may be wrong... but it does not matter... i dun expect you to agree with me... and vice versa... different opinions make the world interesting... everyone has their own free will... just dun infringe on mine and i will not do yours... cheers...

Sunday
i believe that in my last post... i kinda belittled the act of dying for your country... sure... i do not believe in it... and given a choice... i believe no one will want to do it... like someone said... you will never willingly fight and die for a country... but you fight for the freedom of your family and friends... fellow countrymen... yeah... and i was wrong...
we should all respect those who have lost their lives in wars past and present... many of them probably died not by choice but by circumstances.. which is sad... and many-a-times unnecessary... however, if it were not for these brave men... who sadly lost their lives... the hitlers, stalins and saddams of this world will still exercise their tranny... yeah... just imagine if hilter had won WW2... what kind of a world will we be in!!... hence, we should respect the war veterans, dead or living, who gave us our freedom from tranny... especially those who died... some of whom fought and died at a younger age than me... that is, to me, a very sobbering thought... reminds me of a LOTR scene where the king of rohan (correct me if i am wrong) said that a father should never have to bury his son... yeah... it should be the other way around... but the sad truth is; war is young men dying and old men talking... quote from the movie troy... so we should give the war dead their due, or long over-due, respect... we should all appreciate them...
went to kensington temple today... great message... powerful message... i believe that they will put it in their website soon, like tmr... yeah... finally gave my tithes for october... i know that it is late... so kinda rounded it up a few pounds... haha... cos i felt like i owed God interest... haha... anyway, felt good to give my tithes... it was a burden... now it is off... yeah... haha... there are times when i think that giving more tithes den you should, kinda obliges God to give you more back?? haha... hmm... it is not true... but i do get such thoughts sometimes... its like instead of praying for God to help you in your exam or driving test, you pray and thank God for giving you an 'A' or thank him for your pass in the driving test... den it kinda obliges Him to give you what you have already thanked him for giving... hahha... hmm... it is just a silly idea of mine...

11.11.11
Well, today is some armistice day where they remember the end of world war 1. Yeah... for the past week or two, there were many people wearing some flower pin badge or something... kinda like wearing a red ribbon to support cancer victims or aids research or something else... Like one of those lance armstrong yellow bands... yeah... but this was a flower... i asked one of them what it was. and the reply was that it was to support british servicemen... and i only realise yesterday, that the flower was actually a poppy flower!... i guess soldiers like drugs and cocain, or whatever... anyway, I din really bother, i mean... i too have worn one of those ribbons... a white and green one if i remember correctly... but i forgot what it was for... i only remembered that it was compulsory in my school... haha.. maybe singapore should have something like that to honour our national servicemen too... aka NSmen like me!!! ... haha... just joking... i really, honestly, truely pray that i, or anyone of us singaporeans, will never have to die for our country... people and history tend to glorify death and sacrifice for king and/or country... but to me, there is no honour in death... a dead hero is, afterall, dead... his name, his legends and his stories may live on in history, but he is still dead, he is no more... "dying for a cause is honourable, living for a cause makes more sense"- benjamin goh (1985- )... hahahahahahahaha... hmmm... i just quoted myself... was that self-plagiarism?.. hmm....
OK... today is the 11th of november... armistice day, which i honestly did not know... so went with the evelyn gardens people to portobello market... the pictures are below... and on the way there, I saw 4 air force fighters flying pass my head at low altitude in a really tight diamond formation... they looked like euro-fighters... the ones RSAF almost bought before deciding on the F-15s... yeah, anyway, they flew really low, really slow (i know because they did not produce a lot of noise) and really really close together... 2 metres apart?? maybe... so i went like wow!! that was so cool!! ... I still did not know that it was armistice day... later on... i learnt that every year, in britain... at 11 am on the 11th of november (11th month) they observe 2 minutes of silence... yup, 2 mins and not the usual 1 min of silence... to honour the war dead i believe... ok... so i missed it... but i have no reason to care for british war dead... it was WW1 afterall, where singapore was hardly affected... so maybe next year... At 11.11.11 ... i shall remember to remember about the war dead... yeah...
About the poppy badges... if i am not wrong... they are sold to public (for publicity) and the funds collected are used to help british servicemen and ex-servicemen as well as their families... it is organised by some charitable organisation and planned to coincide with armitice day...
And portobello market is a street market with many many stalls. sells lots of stuff... nice stuff... but honestly quite useless... just looks pretty. there are stalls which sell coats and jackets for like 10 quid... you may question the quality but it looks good to me... however, most of the stalls are rather over-priced... perhaps, bargaining is necessary... but i dun know... i like the food stalls though... interesting foods... dun mind going back there again... they do have some really cool stuffs there...

Fall

It is fall and the temperature is falling... trees are turning amber and their leaves are falling... had some spare time... drew this to kill time... experimented with texture... and came out with this picture. Some things are only possible with a computer... other things with a brush... but when it comes down to drawings... it really does not matter...
School is getting boring... why cant it be a bit more interesting, a bit more challenging... the pace of work is slow... school feels like a part time job... something you do and forget thereafter... there is no meaning or purpose for me in school... its all about the cert at the end of the day... all i can say is that school is dead... the only interesting subjects are manufacturing and design... these two drive me... everything else is a yawn...
i miss my saxophone... i want to go busking... to play whatever i like, whatever i want... all to get some insignificant spare change... i dun have to be good... dun have to impress... without a care in the world... just to close my eyes and feel the music play... i will get my audience as they rush to and from the tube staton and i just hope to see someone smile and pop a coin into my case... and i just hope someone, some stranger, will stop to listen... i just hope... it will be so so so so cool...
but its a dream... the reality is that i have laundry to do... someday, all these mundane tasks of life will be automated. and I envision such a world... a world where laundry baskets will wash, dry and iron your clothes once they are full... where we go into a shop/restaurant get our goods/food and walk out of the gentry as sensors and tags and our credit card calculates and pays for all the goods and services... where refrigerators will do your online groccery shopping for you... where cars are automated and environment-friendly.. where robots will clean your house when you step out of your house for work... a world where we can all concentrate on the important things in life...

flame

FYI, I really hate all these arguements about doctrines and truths and about evolution and the big bang and other religious/ scientific theory stuff. Because all these are just opinions and there is no way to prove whether all these are right or wrong, simply because our human intelligence is finite. Therefore, I do not expect you to believe everything i say, as much as you should not expect me to believe everything you say. Instead, use the free will that God gave us to judge for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. And do remember, that God is not just a God of grace but he too is a just God and you and I can be sure that we will one day be judged for our believes and our actions.
the above drawing was inspired by flames found on motorcycles and choppers. expresses my mood now. a warm yellow flame and its nemesis, a cold green flame... good vs evil... yeah, finally managed to post this drawing. thanx to andrew who pointed out that blogger may have restricted file types like the bitmap images i use. so converted it to jpeg and problem solved. thnx andrew. u rox.
school is getting harder, more challenging and more interesting. Starting to see unfamiliar formulars and concepts. The good thing is that i got to operate heavy machinery today! did turning, i believe i did not do as good a job as i would expect. But den again, its my first time. Was really cool though. wished i got more chances to play with the machines again. too bad that there will not be wielding jobs for us to do and learn due to some safety regulation. sianz... ooo... i also got a cool CAD software that draws 3D objects and assembles them. Really cool and really free. the school got lisences for us to personally have it. its called solidworks. neat stuff... very easy to use too (once you get the hang of it). Its simplicity is quite amazing. and simplicity is always beautiful. Just like simple ingenius solutions are so much better and more beautiful den big complicated ones. sorry to use the word beautiful in such a way, just cant think of any other word to use. nice? good? pleasing? nah... beautiful.
It is also getting colder. it kinda wierd, but the level of coldness is not gradual but in steps. as in the temp will like drop 5 deg. c and den hover in that region for a week or two before it dips another 5 deg c. or at least it feels that way. haha... just checked the weather forecast and surprisimgly, it appears that the temp is actually rising. watever, i cant control the weather. just got to prepare for it.
great sunny weather today. warm rays of the sun coupled with cool refreshing breeze. aaarrrhh... now all i need is my cuppa. haha.
of God's Law and God's Grace...
It has, obviously, come to my attention that someone has posted bible verses in the my chat box. I understand that everyone have their own believes and own doctrines. Therefore, if i have offended anyone's believe or doctrine to the point that he/she/it was so compelled as to quote me bible verses, then I am sorry. I am very sorry. I am very sorry that YOU and your doctrines are wrong! I am sorry that you have been lead astray! and i am sorry that you believed a half-truth, no better than an out-right lie!!
How dare you quote me those bible verses out of context! How dare you do so anonymously! If you want to be anonymous den i will treat you like one. Even a stranger will tell me his/her name but you came with strong comments without stating who you are. If you want to be impersonal, so will i. If you really believe that what you say is the truth, den why are you so afraid to reveal yourself? You are either a coward or a liar. I believe you are both! And anyway, if you want to believe the 'teachings' of 'pastor' prince from new creation, den go ahead. Go ahead and disobey the law, go ahead with your sinful ways, afterall, arent you under the grace of God like you claim??
You quote romans 6:14 but have you read the whole of romans 6? In fact, you dont even need to read the whole of romans 6 to know that your notions of grace are wrong because the very first verse, romans 6:1, already states: [1] What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? [2] By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Once again you quoted out of context: You quote galatians 2:21 and 3:19 but did you read a few verses further because 2 verses later, in galatians 3:21 states: Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not!
Now here is romans 7:7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
And again in romans 7:12 So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good. [13] Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognised as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
the grace of God does not mean that the law is no longer in effect. In fact, Jesus expects us to obey the law through faith and the grace of God. It is through Christ and God's grace and not our own strength that we can fulfill God's commandments and his laws. Romans 8:3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in sinful man,[d] 4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
I could have gone on and on to quote apostle Paul just like what mr/miss/mrs/mdm anonymous did but this is enough. This is enough bikering for today. Afterall, why quote Paul when Jesus himself wants us to obey the law. For Jesus said that if you lust after someone, you have committed adultery and if you hate your brother, you have committed murder. Yup, the law states that thou shall not murder and thou shall not commit adultery. And yes, Jesus not only wants us to obey the law but to do so in the strictest sense!
Just think about it, it was God himself who gave moses the 10 commandments (the law), so how can Jesus Christ, who with God is one, contradict the law that God gave? No, Jesus together with the grace of God and the Holy Spirit came to reinforce the law, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us Romans 8:4. Through grace and faith, we are righteous and the only way to know our righteousness is through the law.
I am usually quite passive about such doctrine and theories stuff. However, when that anonymous idiot came and posted comments, that i am strongly against, in my own personal blog, I had to do something about it. I cant control what people post in the chat box and of course you are free to post your opinions and your "truths". In the same way, i will write freely about what i believe. and about those comments, you have no idea how angry i was when i referenced the verses quoted by that so and so, and learnt that they were actually new creation bull shit. I had expected those verses to be words of encouragement but to my utmost distaste, they turned out to be heresy. I fumed and I just had to let it out. I just had to let it out with this post. Do you want the truth? do you want to know the truth???!!! you cant handle the truth!!!!!!!!
Anyway, on a lighter note, do not just take my word for it, read the bible and see for yourself what is right and what is wrong. In fact, in this world of opinions and counter-opinions, never blindly believe everything you hear. At the same time, we should try to open up to other people's ideas as much as we need to stand by our own believes. agree or disagree, the Holy Spirit in you will guide you to the path God wans u to go. Amen =)
