A journey begins with a single step

I took the first step to redecorating my bathroom and bedroom. The walls have been various shades of purple since we bought our house. I've always liked purple but I am ready for a change. The first step was to paint the bathroom. It is such a small room I felt like it was a manageable task. I hope I get enough energy to tackle the bedroom next. You can see the bedroom wall color a bit in the photo.

Look at this cutie! He is getting bigger daily. Today he had two bowls he was eating from so of course he had to have a fork for each hand.

Emily's gift to Kaleb

Emily has been doing a lot of sewing lately. She made this fun robot for Kaleb for Christmas. After Christmas she made a baby doll for herself that kept her entertained until school started again.

Good helper Emily

Emily is such a good friend and helper to the younger children that Kaleb calls her Mini Mommy. She couldn't wait until Josh was big enough for her to carry him around. She takes very good care of him and loves to help.

Baby photos

My friend and neighbor Anisha took these adorable pictures of Josh yesterday. I just love them.

Kaleb turns three

Kaleb is such a fun and happy kid. He loves Thomas the train so I made him this train cake. We ate dinner at Garcia's and had cake and presents at home. He really enjoyed the day and was so happy when we gave him a Thomas the train balloon and decorated for his special day. When he woke up from his nap he saw it and said, "You did this for me?" in such a way that it almost made me cry to see how appreciative he was. I'm glad he had his special day. I didn't realize it at the time but as we were leaving the restaurant I had my first labor contraction. Kaleb just missed having to share a birthday with his new baby brother by an hour and 20 minutes.
He wanted to go to Garcias for dinner so that they would sing to him and give him ice cream. When they sang to him he got so excited I didn't know if he was going to laugh or cry.He loved the ice cream and shared with everyone.
At home he opened his gifts. Many of them had to do with Thomas. He was so gracious and excited.
At bed time he snuggled in the new blanket mom made and the pillow case Emily made. He also got a new stuffed dog because his favorite dog named Truck had been missing for months. (Ivan found it about a week after his birthday hiding under a dresser)

Halloween

This Halloween we were so fortunate to find two of or costumes at the DI. David actually found them. He saved me from sewing a Jedi costume by finding this Anakin costume.
Jonathan is Buzz Lightyear.
Kaleb went as Pooh Bear. He only wore the hood for a few minutes, Ivan and David took turns wearing it during trick or treating.
Emily was an adorible Hello Kitty. She made most of the skirt herself.
David is Anakin. He and our Star Wars loving neighbor are great at dueling.
