BIRTHDAY BOY

This week Dane turned 4! He has been counting down and sooo excited to be 4. I planned a birthday party for him... and SURPRISE!.... it was Superhero themed:)
Superheroes in training

We had a superhero menu for lunch. From xray vision food (carrots) to super strength sandwiches (ham and cheese), to energy juice (capri suns)....

As the boys were eating their superhero luch I received a phone call from the police (wink, wink) and told the boys that a villian was on the loose and the police said he was on his way to the party to ruin Dane's birthday. The boys reactions were so funny, they were ready to get this villain and send him to jail.
As the boys finished up their lunch, the "Birthday Basher" (aka Ryan dressed like a goofy villain:) arrived and I led the boys over to where we played the first game. The boys took turns trying to throw a hula hoop over the "Birthday Basher's" head to try and trap him.
Such cute boys:)

After a couple of turns, the villain got away and left behind a bunch of bombs (black balloons) that the boys needed to pop before they blew up the playground. It was so funny watching the kids try to pop the balloons with their bums bc they had to get bouncing on them pretty good before they popped.
Ryan returnd to help me with more games and the boys were telling Ryan everything that happened with the villain while he was gone:)
The next game we played was a game involving the boys throwing a ball at cans with popular villains face on them.

Then onto the pin the logo onto the Transformers chest game.

As I was getting ready to hang the pinata the "Birthday Basher" came and stole the pinata from us which sent the kids chasing after him. I rounded the kids up and told them that Spiderman let me borrow his web slingers and gave each of the kids a can of silly string to "sling webs" onto the villain. The boys loved spraying him and trapped him on the little playground.

As the kids were spraying him I grabbed the birthday boy and gave him some toy handcuffs to put on the villain and take him over to the jail ring (a hula hoop on the ground). As soon as the villain was trapped in "jail" I uncovered a box full of water balloons and told them that the "Birthday Basher" was scared of water bc it made him weak. The boys threw water balloons at him. LOTS of balloons:), before the villain ran off yelling that he gives up and that the superheroes won.

Ryan came back and helped me hang the pinata and we watched the kids take turns punching the pinata with huge hulk gloves on. After the kids had a couple of turns punching it and no damage being done to the pinata, we used the bat and the kids went crazy breaking open the pinata.

I think the kids had a lot of fun feeling like superheroes for the day and eating cupcakes afterwards.

I gave the boys masks that I made when they got to the party. Here is all of them doing their toughest Superhero pose:)

That night right before Dane was going to bed Ryan asked if he had fun at his birthday party and told him that we would take him to lunch and take him to pick out a present in a couple days on his birthday. Dane got so excited and said "Then I'm gonna be 5?!" It took a little convinvcing that he didn't turn 4 at his party but he had to wait til his actual birthday to turn 4. He is so funny!

We woke him up by singing to him and brought him some doughnuts with 4 candles sticking out of them. After we had breakfast we went to the Children's museum which the kids really enjoyed. We then let Dane pick where we went for lunch..,. of course, McDonalds ( I kept trying to put other ideas in his head but he wouldn't budge..), then we took him to the store to let him pick out any toy he wanted and he got a cool nerf gun. He picked pizza for dinner and finished off his birthday with a slice of chocolate oreo cake. so yummy!
