Happy Birthday to my Baby!!

Dane Ryan Skinner

THEN
- 5 days old

-3 weeks old
-1 month old baby
-Dane on the day of his blessing.
NOW
Dane giving a big cheesy smile right before his birthday party began.
He has been saying he is 2 since he was 1 but now he can almost show how old he is with his fingers. We figured by the time he understood he was 1 NOT 2 he would be 2 so we didn't bother to teach him his real age.
The birthday boy got his wish. "baball upcakes" My friend and I decorated his cupcakes as baseballs, basketballs, footballs, and worms in dirt. It was fun and Dane was so excited when he saw them.
Dane and Caleb had a joint birthday party at the park and loved blowing out their candles. It was quite the efffort to get a picture of both of them with both of their candles lit at the same time:)
I guess he didn't want to get his hands dirty...
...so instead he spent the rest of his party with a frosting mustache and flavor saver. YUM!
Terrible Twos???!! No way!

:)

Dane LOVES his dad! He loves to wear his shoes, drag his backpack throughout the house, and wear his hat when Ryan wears one. (He is trying to hold up two fingers to show how old he is going to be on his birthday)
Wondering what to do with himself once Ryan left for school.
I wanted to see if the little headband/beanie I crocheted looked cute on an actual person so I tried it out on the cutest model ever! YEP!- Dad was at school and doesn't check the blog so I hopefully won't be getting in any trouble:)
Dane LOVES stacking things up right now. He loves to see how tall me can make his block, juice cups, and yes- his cars. He honestly was so proud of this "tower" but then when I got the camera he was too into his show to pose.
AND....drumroll please.....

35 weeks pregnant... Almost there...!

Just trying to keep busy...

Ryan has been a busy man studying for classes and boards so I have had to figure out things to do with my time when Dane is down for the night. I have started a couple of projects but have only finished this so far. I learned how to crochet when I was probably 12 and haven't tried it since so I was actually impressed that I remembered how to do it. I wanted a cute headband/ ear-warmer thingy for the winters (in utah of course not AZ). I did the headband pretty easy but wanted something else so I somehow made up a flower pattern and think that it turned out pretty cute. Hopefully I can get some use out of it this Christmas:)

Now I need to decide if I am going to leave the "ear-warmer" like this...
Or if I'm going to tuck the petals under so the flower is not as big. What do you think??

Ok, so I have been really bad at blogging/ checking up on blogs and have noticed that a couple of my friends have gone private without me knowing. Also I missed the boat on getting them my email before they went private. For all of those girls- PLEASE ADD ME, I will be better at checking on blogs from now on I swear. My email is carlieweston@yahoo.com.

Baby Update.

Yesterday I had my 32 week Dr. appointment. I got a 3D ultrasound and they measured the little guy to be almost 5lbs (which is in the 75-90%) and they told me he has lots of hair already, SHOCKER! I have a feeling he is going to look like his big brother. I also talked my Dr. into setting up a date for my induction!! yea! I am due May 31st but he doesn't want me to go til my due date since Dane was a big baby and made my recovery worse than it needed to be. I was able to talk him into inducing me May 21st which is the day of Ryan's last final, my Grandpa Weston's birthday, and my mom's birthday. As soon as Ryan wraps up with his last final we will head to the hospital where our Dr. said Ryan will get to deliver our little boy.

Our Little Trip to Gilbert

Last week my mom came into town and it was so fun to spend some time with her. He headed out to Gilbert to hang out with my sister and her family too which was fun. We spent pretty much all day every day by the pool which was great. Every afternoon Dane would wake up from his nap and would eat his lunch at this little table with his "bowboy" hat on. He then would be so excited to swim in the hot tub. He didn't use his floaties once while we were there. He would jump straight in the middle of the hot tub and open his eyes to find my hands and pull himself to the stairs. He might be swimming by himself before too long!

Steph's kids decided to have a lemonade/bake sale one of the days and caught sneaky little theives stealing their doughnuts and airheads when they weren't looking. Dane and his 2 1/2 year old cousin made off with lots of goods before the other kids even noticed which was so hilarious to watch.

The little guys had a great time snacking before Weston scared them off.

Our Fun Week.

Finals Week is over!!! Woo HOoo!! Only one semester left!

Every morning Dane sees Ryan put his backpack on, grab his keys, and then slip his sunglasses on before he goes to school. Lately Dane has been coming to me with his backpack saying "backpack school"and makes me put it on him. Then he heads for the door and says (in a very high pitched voice) "See ya mom!" This particular morning he grabbed his backpack and then sunglasses. After he got them on he made me get him a set of keys so he could go to "school". Maybe next time he will remember to put on some pants first.
Dane and I packed a lunch and picked Ryan up from school last week so we could go have a picnic. The weather has been sooo nice lately so we went to the park. After lunch Ryan and Dane had a friendly game of soccer until Dane decided he wanted to play basketball and went and stole a ball from some 10 year olds that were already playing.
Dane and I also got to hang out with our good friends Heidi and Jamie who came over to visit. We never get to see them anymore so it was fun catching up- even though Dane and Jamie could care less that the other was there.

We have all been suffering from allergies in our house this past week. Dane usually wakes up all boogery but the other morning this is what he looked like. Poor kid got his first bloody nose in the middle of the night and it was all crusted to his face by morning.
This past week I also celebrated another birthday even though it fell smack in the middle of finals week. My friend, Criscell, let Dane come over and play with her little girl while Ryan and I ran and grabbed dinner on my birthday. My other friend, Britni, let Dane come over and play with her kids while Ryan took me out to dinner on Friday night. We never really leave Dane with babysitters so it was REALLY NICE to get out on our own for a change. (Hopefully he was a good boy and Criscell and Britni are still my friends).

Ryan took me to Chevy's for ONE of my birthday dates and I scored a sweet sombrero and balloon when they sang to me. First thing in the morning Dane grabs the balloon and puts on his "bowboy" hat and ALWAYS says "ye haw bowboy". This picture is not staged. He watched the whole show like this and then everytime we leave the house he runs to get his bowboy hat first.

Our Trip to Idaho

At the beginning of the month I went to Idaho to visit my mom and dad for almost 2 week! It was really fun to see them and work on little projects while I was there. My sister picked me up from the airport and we made the drive with 4 little kids in the back. The whole week that my sister was there was really fun for Dane because he had a 5 year old to follow around and who he thought was the funniest kid ever, a little girl 6 days older than him to bully, and brand new baby to hold and give kisses to.

All the kids helped my mom make some fresh bread and Dane was so proud of his mini loaf of bread that she made for him.

I let Dane practice being a big brother on my sister's new baby. He was obsessed and kept kissing her and would say "hi" and wave to her everytime he walked by and kept calling her "cute baby"

EVERY time I take Dane's shirt off, this is what we get.... a free trip to the gun show..

cutest little BIG trouble-maker

Ready to play in the snow and ride the sled.
He loved the sled ride grandma gave him and all the kids
Everytime I turned around Dane was eating either snow or icicles. I was funny until I saw him come from the other side of the car eating a handful of black snow from the tire-well. I ran over and made him drop it and then he just said "mmm....good!" SICK!

Ready for a mattress ride?
While we were at my mom's house she got a new bed for one of the rooms so instead of carrying it down the stairs we decided to let the kids ride it down. The only one who enjoyed it was Tyson. The other kids didn't love it so much!
Patiently waiting for his "gi-geem-cone" aka ice cream cone.
Just hanging around. He was able to hang on by himself but never long enough for us to get a good picture. He thought it was so funny hanging on the bar.
I glance over to the climbing wall where Dane had been watching his 5 year old cousin climbing and this is what I found. I really shouldn't be shocked by anything this kid can and does do. He loved following Tyson around all week.
When the kids needed something to do and we didn't feel like taking them out in the snow my mom would just go borrow the neighbors dog and it would entertain the kiddos for quite sometime. Poor dog...
Trying to keep warm with his gloves and "yat" on.

I got a new 'do. Not sure if I can pull off the short hair yet but can't do anything about it now...

the back of my new 'do
It looks even shorter when I round brush it!! Scary- I've never been a short haired girl before.
25 weeks along and lookin like I should be 35 weeks....
Thanks for the fun trip mom and dad!

HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY to my MAN!

Last week was Ryan's birthday (Jan 17th) and my friend, Sara, was so nice to watch Dane while I took Ry out on the town. It was nice getting out for an evening with no kid and no school talk. Dinner was yummy too! A couple of days later we had a combined birthday (for Ryan and Rhett) get together with yummy dessert. Man these boys are getting old :)

Christmas Recap...

This Christmas was fun and a little different. We stayed put and Ryan's mom, dad, and little brother came out to stay with us. We had some yummy food, played games every night and I even attempted to make my first Lemon meringue pie with fresh lemons I picked over at Ryan's school. My mom and all of her sisters are amazing cooks and that includes pies. I called her for her recipe and was surprised that it turned out almost as good as hers. I don't have many pictures from the Christmas break so I posted the most recent picture of Dane that I have.

This picture was taken at an outdoor mall by our house that has a little play area in the middle. Dane kept going in and out of this tunnel and then when I did not see him come out for a while I looked inside and found him just relaxing. This whole relaxing thing does not happen much.
ALSO..

Here you go Kaymee!- finally a pregnancy picture.
Here is a picture of me at 20 weeks. Less than 20 to go!! I am already in talks with my Dr. about induction. I don't want another big baby like Dane was.

Day at the Phoeniz Wildlife Zoo

We went to the Phoenix Wildlife Zoo during Christmas break and it was AWESOME! I wasn't quite sure if Dane would enjoy being at the zoo but he LOVED it! He loved all of the animals and especially loved the petting zoo. We taped Dane while he was in the petting zoo area and are so glad that we did. I thought he was be too chicken to go near the animals but he got right in there and tried even picking up one of the pygmy goats. We condensed the video that we got to show family but it is still pretty long. Enjoy Gma's and Gpa's!
