Embracing Tomorrow's Light

This was written for someone single as she was contemplating the far-reaching decision she had yet to make about her unborn child....

When you’re on a pathway
And find a choice ahead
To the left one might be ending
To the right you may be fed.

For even though your choices
Sometimes take you far from home
Heavenly Father has allowed
You to ask so you’ll be shown.

For even though your child
Isn’t yet upon the earth
As his mother you’re entitled
Inspiration before his birth.

Heavenly Father knows that you’ll
Make the choice that will be
The best for your child’s life
Throughout eternity.

So, hold onto the hand of Father
As you face tomorrow’s road.
Hear the answer that He whispers
As He lifts from you this load.

Keep the hero that’s within you
Inside your noble heart
As you contemplate with courage.
You’ll choose the better part.

Destiny's Hands

I wrote this for the fiance of my nephew to go with a bridal shower gift...

When you were a little girl
Your hands reached toward the sun
A whole world to explore
As you chose the path you’d run.
Life brought you great adventure
As you held your memories
New days were like the pages
In a book of make believe.
You picked bouquets of dreams
As you planned what you’d become.
You grasped eternal meaning
As your childhood was done.
You met another, and you knew
Just as soon as he held your hand
That he was your intended.
He was everything you’d planned.
In your grasp you hold the future
Of all eternity…..
Your hands will now create
Dreams for your posterity.
You’ll hold onto each other
As you both learn how to stand
Together you’ll give service
With the union of your hands.
