Who Doesn't Love Beaker?

"Beaker from the Muppets"

Random Thoughts

Just some things I've been thinking about...

  • Saw "I Am Legend" with Will Smith this weekend. Why do they have to kill the dog? For some reason I can handle watching a person die in a movie, but if the story makes you create a relationship with a dog, and then they kill it, I get so sad. I just clung on to Duke for dear life during that part. The other part of that movie that bothered me, though I enjoy suspense and thrills, I don't handle them well. I held my breath for the entire movie because I just knew some scary zombie was going to jump out screaming at any moment. Good movie, I just don't think my body can take watching it again (or poor Duke's ears, every time a zombie came out and would pull harder on that dog's ears. Surprised they are still attached.) Where was Da Vinci, you ask? That old fart went to his kennel to sleep hours before the movie started.

  • So, so, so glad I'm not going to work tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day... Good luck to my teacher friends!

  • I am headed to Creative Escape (big scrapbook weekend of classes and other fun stuff) in AZ with my friend Ginger next week. Very excited but little worried since I don't know what to expect. I don't want to feel inadequate about working around all these incredibly talented people with just my "ok" stuff. I need to get over my insecurities.

  • I hate it when someone tells me to do something, when in my head, I'm already going to do it. Why do people have the need to tell me what to do? That must of happened three times today alone!

  • I need to lose weight. My eating is just getting out of control, and now I have a stomach ache. I love the taste of food too dang much!

I told you these thoughts were random. No rhyme or reason, just what was in my head!

An Impromptu Family Day

Most of our days in the Christoffersen household are pretty structured. That's the teacher in me, always planning ahead, scheduling my to do list, blah blah blah! So when we had an impromptu family day, I really enjoyed myself (I hope Wyatt and Byron did too!). Nobody needs a ton of detail, here's just the fun stuff...

  • Discovering "Exploration Park" at Mountains Edge community. Just perfect for my little cowboy! Its a far drive from our house but so worth it. If you want to go, let me know and we'll totally come along!

  • Bass Pro Shops. Well, we were on Blue Diamond Rd, seems like waste to not stop by.
  • Lunch with Gramma Jeri. Its nice to go out and do things with her.
  • A peaceful afternoon with Wyatt napping and me spending some quality time with my man (with no TV, amazing).
  • Drive up to Mt. Charleston for a ward picnic. I brought my spinach and strawberry salad and apple brickle dip. Yum! How did I get roped into leading the ward in "The Chicken Dance?"

Oops! Have I lost your blog?

As you can tell, I have been doing some remodeling to my blog (the tacky animated title is finally gone!), and I lost my beloved blog list! I'm in the process of putting the sites back on, but you could help me by putting your site on my comments, if you don't see your site on my list already! I use my blog to check up on all of yours, DAILY! I might have to dust or something, if I don't have your blogs to read!

Fixing my blog again

I'm trying to fix my blog. It'll be like this for a bit. That animated title is driving me crazy!

Mom's home!

Hooray! My mom is out of the hospital! As if this wasn't enough good news, the doctors told her she could just take a pill form of antibiotics and not the IV form they were first planning on. Mom had a "pic(?)" line, an IV line next to her heart, put in and everything. They were able to take that out, give her some pills, and send her on her way. Thank heavens. I know it was through our prayers and a blessing given by Dad that all this came to be. She still has this gigantic cast on, but the doctors should be taking that off at the end of the week.

Years ago, as a teenager, I remember my oh so graceful mom falling in our boat, while preparing for a lake trip, and she broke her heel. That ended that summer for both if us real quick. My mom loves the summer, she loves the pool, going on vacations. I was so worried that she would yet another summer cut short unfairly. We are so happy that this isn't the case.

Scheduled posts

Anyone know how to create a post and then have it come up at a scheduled time? Look for your inner computer geek and help me out.

Mama Drama!

So my poor mom has been stuck in the hospital since Friday for a staph infection in her arm. She thinks it came from a bug bite! Ouch! Now they are worried about her liver not dealing well with the infection, so she has to stay longer. Keep her in your prayers, please!

Is it an illusion?

No, it isn't. Byron really has been doing the plumbing for the office of illusionist Criss Angel. He hasn't bumped into him, but maybe Criss will magically appear! Oh, and they just did some final touches on Siegfried and Roy's place. Guess you could say Byron work is magical!

We Love Fun People!

The Leydsmans are fun people! And some of our best friends. We just visited with them in SLC. Here's a list of the fun stuff we like to do with our friends (sorry if you don't understand a lot of these things, some are inside jokes, which also makes friends be fun people)...
  • flipping contests on the trampoline (Just Byron and Suzanne, that would make me throw up)
  • guitar hero (I will get the Killers song down)
  • New restaurants like the Mayan Adventure (come see "Mayan" divers dive off of cliffs into an indoor lagoon. The divers were way too white to be Mayan, can anyone say the BYU dive team???? Do they even have one? Only in Utah.)
  • Shopping!!!!! I only go shopping when I'm with Suzanne. Probably a good thing we don't live near each other.
  • Phase 10!!!!!!!!! Who won 2nd place????? ME! I still need acknowledgement!
  • Being tormented by the E.T. doll (I have a tremendous and very real fear of E.T., but wait...I wasn't tormented this trip. Did Tony actually grow a conscious and decide not to tease me this time, or did he just forget? I'm assuming it was the latter of the two.)
  • Way too much chocolate and Reeses Pieces and Diet Pepsi
  • Staying up soooooooo late, normal bedtime for Tony and Suzanne, hours and hours past ours!
  • Katy Perry
  • Laughing until I thought I would pee my pants, also during the hours and hours past our bedtime.

Thanks for the great weekend guys!

Just for the "halibut!"

Byron got back from Alaska not too long ago. (I'm sure you read the nightmare I went through to get him home). He had a pretty good time, mostly just happy to be in Alaska. He could see whales and eagles from his hotel room everyday. We now have some tasty fish in our freezer, Wyatt's favorite!

Mrs. Clean

Becoming a mother has turned me into a complete germaphobe! I have spent several days now bleaching and spraying lysol over Wyatt's toys to kill any remnant of foot and mouth disease that dare survive! Perhaps I should have worried about cleaning this little toy...
