Crazy how fast time flies! This is just a QUICK update on my little man, who is growing SO fast and is still melting my heart every day! Yesterday he had his 4 month immunizations, even though he is 5 months now, and here are some stats...

• 13.13lbs (10 percentile...skinny kid!!)
• 26.5" (75 percentile...super tall!!)
• no more reflux or colic, yay!!
• but is getting a tooth...
• pretty much sleeps through the night
• loves to hold things, especially his monkey blanket from Bella when he is going to sleep!
• VERY vocal, he is super loud and loves the sound of his own voice!
• rolls over from front to back, will NOT go the other way, he's not a big fan of tummy time!
  
• he is constantly moving around his arms and legs, I think he is a hyper child already...
• gives the sweetest smiles, and had the greatest giggle
• he is very ticklish
• he loves his big sister, even though she is constantly mauling him and almost suffocating him. Whenever he sees her he grins from ear to ear!

It's been a GREAT summer, and it's not ending yet for us! We are off to Utah and then California, I will have to post about the last few months when I get back!! I LOVE SUMMER!!!

So when Cruz was just over a week old, my amazing friend Ashley (sentiments by ashley photography & design) made the trip from Cardston just to see me and take newborn pictures for us! She really is so talented, and I am so glad we got to do this. Thank you Ashley!!!

Cruz is now just over 3 weeks old...I can't believe how fast time flies! He is becoming a lot more alert, and I'm loving his intense stares and occasional crossed-eye expressions! Bella continues to be enamored by him, and even helps me feed him a bottle in the morning while I'm getting ready! She is so sweet with him, she can't stand it when he's sad and will literally shove his soother in his mouth while saying "sshh, it's okay" like 100 times!! Adorable but I have to watch her as she can be a little too "enthusiastic" at times! He is getting better at nights now, I'm not getting up near as often and the few extra hours of sleep have made me feel like a whole new person!! I still feel like crashing at around 4pm every day, but my new habit of a glass of Pepsi every afternoon helps! So bad. I even made a new year's resolution of NO POP but that sure didn't last long. And now there are mini eggs and creme eggs to watch out for, darn Easter!!!

Being a mom of 2 is harder than I thought! I'm sure it'll get easier, but seriously getting out the door on time is impossible! I finally get why moms of more than 1 are late for things, I have become one of them! Which if you know me is hilarious because I am a VERY punctual person normally! I HATE being late!!! Oh well. I now know that I need to add at least 30 minutes on to the time I think I'm going to leave, and then I'm fine!

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks already! I don't even remember what it was like without baby Cruz in our family. He is so amazing, and already has brought so much to our lives. He is an answer to prayers...which I have to remind myself of at 3am when I get up for the 4th time to feed him!! He is definitely a little bit of a fussy baby...not like Bella at all. But when he's calm, he is just so so sweet, and has the most peaceful expression on his face.

Bella just loves him, of course, sometimes a little too much! She is constantly giving him kisses, when he's awake, when he's sleeping, and even when he's crying! She says things like "oh baby boy, it's a sad sad day isn't it?!" when he's screaming, or "sssshhhh, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay"... it is so cute how motherly she is with him!


We decided to go with a c-section this time around, due to the not so good delivery of Bella. I am happy to report we made the right decision, I feel SO good, and everything went so smoothly!! Day of surgery we had to be there at 6am, with the c-section scheduled for 10am. They hooked me up to an IV, did bloodwork, and we waited. And waited. And waited some more. FINALLY at 2pm the fabulous nurse (seriously, she was awesome!) came in and led us down the hall to where I'd have the surgery. Mason got to dress in some hot scrubs (seriously, Dr. Dahl looked dashing) and it was all over by 2:20pm! Amazing!! The anaesthesiologist took the camera from Mason and snapped the first few pictures of us with Cruz. So special, and I just loved that he did that for us!



I spent 2 days in the hospital, and honestly I was a little sad to leave!! Everyone there was so nice, I had the most amazing nurses, and I just felt so taken care of! Loved it! The food sucked, but other than that it was good! Getting back to reality at home was hard at first, in fact I think I'm still trying to settle into things. Mom of 2 just seems so crazy to me! My mom stayed with us for the first week, which really helped a lot, especially with Bella. She got super spoiled and got tons of attention, so I wasn't worried about her while trying to get back into the swing of things with a newborn.

At 9 days old my dearest friend Ashley drove up from Cardston just to see us and take pictures of Cruz and our new little family. She is crazy talented, and I love the pictures she took!! Here are a few, I haven't got them all yet, but I can't wait!



I am so greatful for this amazing blessing in our lives. We are also so thankful to all the people who have helped us out. We have had so many people bring us meals and treats, and I have loved all the facebook love and texts and phone calls we have been getting! THANK YOU!!! I feel so incredibly lucky!! Hmmmm can you tell I'm still on the "post-baby high" right now?!! Because I totally am!!!

Today I had to register you for preschool. I am SO excited, but so nervous at the same time. Will you be happy there? Will you have fun? Will you make friends? Will you get your feelings hurt? Honestly, this song makes me cry EVERY time I hear it. You are the most amazing gift, and I want to always keep you by me. I know that is so selfish, but you are the best little sidekick to me! You are beautiful, and funny, and so smart, and I am so proud to be your mommma. Some crazy things you are saying right now that are keeping your dad and I laughing are:

I am probably forgetting some more...but these have been the most hilarious ones as of late. You're a sassy one, that's for sure, but I wouldn't have it any other way!! Just try not to grow up too fast lil Miss...

Oh man life is busy!! December was so fun for us, it's always busy with my birthday, Christmas, and then Bella's birthday! We went to Magrath to stay with Mason's family for 2 weeks over Christmas, and had a blast. Bella was in heaven being able to have Grandma Kath time (that's what she calls Mason's mom!) and being able to play with her cousins tons. There was a bout of flu going around which set us back a couple of days, but luckily it was right near the beginning of our vacay so we were good to go by Christmas! Here is our month in pictures....

First up, I got to sit in on one of Bella's ballet classes for the first time! I was so excited, she has been in ballet since September and so far seems to really love it! Unfortunately I don't get to watch her (too much of a distraction, which proved true this time!) so this was super fun!
