Newsletter Subscription

If you read my blog through a reader you might not have noticed I have added a newsletter subscription thingy at the side so if you feel so inclined maybe you might like to sign up. I have no idea when the first newsletter will come out because I'm still trying to work that out but I promise I won't bombard you.

I can't rememer which blog I saw the "how to" for setting this up but if I find it again I will come back and link it.

Crafty Weekend

What can I say, another great weekend with wonderful crafty friends.

Only downside is my machine packed it in and needs a service and we missed this crafty chic

I managed to duck into one of my local op shops yesterday and I picked up this great desk for Lucy for $15.

It's a lovely red colour and in fantastic condition and most importantly she loves it.

We had out annual Pink Ribbon Morning Tea at school today and I had a little stall and had a great morning.

The committee raised over $22000 for Breast Cancer which was fantastic.

Handmade Kids

I'm so excited my Handmade Kids project is finished. You may remember the package I received in August well I've made up all my little goodies. Of course I made a Traveller.

I used the gorgeous fluffy fabric as the pocket, I just couldn't stop running my hand over it.

Then I made up some hair ties and bobby pins and a giant fluffy brooch.

Then one night I was looking at the fabric thinking about what else I could make and the circles threw up an idea. I decided to make a bean bag throwing game. I then backed the circles with calico and filled them with rice. I wanted to make some sort of target for the game so before I sewed up the circles I scanned them in to the computer.

Then I printed them on to tshirt transfer paper. I cut a large circle from calico and ironed the printed circles on, then I backed that with some fabric from Ikea. I wanted to make the target into a bag to hold the rice filled bags. After some discussions with a few people I ended up putting buttonholes in the edges and threading twill through it. It pulls up into a bag.

I'm really happy with how it turned out and I have a few changes in mind but I think these might make an appearance at Mathildas in November. The girls tried it out today for me.

I think there are heaps of options with this, you could use it for colour recognition, counting or just for funAnd when you've finished throw it over your shoulder and off you go.

Story dice

You may remember some time ago I got these wooden blocks, well I finally got around to trying out a story dice.
At first I was going to paint a base colour on them and then either paint or stamp a picture on each side. Then of course after waiting all this time I was in a hurry to make them so I decided to use vintage storybooks.

I used pages with words as the base and then stuck the main picture over the top. I mod podged over the whole thing to seal it and filed the corners and edges.

I am thinking of selling them with a small moleskin to records the story all in a drawstring bag. I might do a couple for the Pink Ribbon Market this Friday and see how they go.

I just had to post this picture of Lucy. She has decided she needed an MP3 as well and she "borrowed" Charlotte's old one. She walks around the house with the headphones on singing Mama Mia all the time now. Yesterday in the car I wasn't allowed to have the radio on because "I'm listening to my songs mummy!"

Happy Birthday

My wonderful partner is turning 50 today (yes he's heaps older than me!). I'm so lucky to have found a fantastic person to share my life with, he's a great dad to the girls and we love him heaps.

Happy Birthday Jeff

Nothing to see here

There hasn't been a lot happening over at Snailblazer HQ lately. Getting another order together for The Local Shop, working on my idea for the EB Doll Quilt Swap, working on some things for our Pink Ribbon Morning Tea and that's about it.

I don't think I blogged this stamp I got ages ago from ETSY. I've been stamping the back of some swing tags with it. I can see lots of stamped paper bags too.

I've finished the sewing cards and made up some little felt pouches for them. I'm going to take them to the Pink Ribbon Morning Tea market and I might list a couple of sets on Made It too. I just need to find the last pouch. I know I've sewn it but I can't for the life of me find it.
I don't suppose anyone knows where I can get pink M & M's inAustralia
