Another addition to our Polly Pocket collection. We already have this one but at $2 from the Op Shop this week I couldn't pass it up.

Lovely Mail

While I was in Melbourne recently I was lucky enough to meet Cam. Cam was in my first Sample Swap, we've swapped some goodies a couple of times and I bought my girls 2 of Cam's crowns for Christmas so it was great to finally meet. I mentioned to Cam that I had been admiring these for a while and look what arrived in my mail box this week. Perfect for my Ipod Touch.

Thanks so much Cam

Sew it Together - Sample Swap

I've been very remiss not posting about the lovely goodies I recieved in the Sample Swap.

Here's my group all ready to swap.

Pear pincushion from Lizzie, lunch box from Karen (which luckily hasn't been snagged yet although I've been so slack this past week I haven't taken my lunch to work but I'm promising myself this week), Crafting bag from Trash (it says super crafty on it with a crafty superperson - love it), wash cloth from Donna (I got one of these in a swap last year and I love them), tea towel from Sheridan (I wasn't going to use this so I hung it on the oven just to look lovingly at it. Then I dried my hands on it and I love it even more it's so soft. I am under orders from the maker that life's too short not to use it so I'm taking her advice) and a cute little pincushion from Sophie (the perfect size for taking away).

So a big thanks to everyone who participated in the swap and I really hope you had fun.

Sew It Together Wrap Up

I have been waiting for better weather to take some photos of my SIT goodies but unfurtunately that doesn't look like it is going to happen so you will have to put up with these.
Firstly this lovely lady made me some gifts - a zippered pouch and a notebook cover both with my name embroidered on them. Apparently everyone in my house is now called Cass, the pouch is stuffed full with Charlotte's pencils and Lucy has taken such a liking to the notebook that she has hiddne it so I can't take it back, which is why there is no photo of it. I think I need to make them their own. There was also a bag full of goodies from the SIT sponsors but I couldn't get a good photo today but a big thanks to - Lark, Retromummy, Ric Rac, Thea & Sami, Craft Junk, Oz Material Girls, Jackobindi. I was also lucky enough to win a pattern from Craft Mumma's on the day.

This is all I managed to get done on the day but it was interspersed with a trip to Cleggs and Lincraft but I can't show you what I bought because I couldn't fit it in my bag and Sheridan still has it, hopefully she hasn't used it yet.

I forgot to post pics of these yummy cakes we had on Sunday morning at Little Cupcake in a little laneway just up from the hotel. That chocolate icing was divine.

Oops just looking through the photos reminded me I haven't posted about my swap goodies. Tomorrow I promise.

Sew it Together - Saturday

I've been mulling over what to write about the whole Sew It Together experience and in particular the Saturday crafting session. This post definitely doesn't sum up everything I am feeling even though it is 3 days later, I just can't seem to put it into words.
I never imagined when Sheridan floated the idea way back here what a wonderful time I would have - catching up with old friends, meeting other old friends for the first time, putting faces to those behind some of my favourite blogs and meeting new bloggers.

Sheridan did the most fantastic job and I feel very lucky to count her as a friend and she was well assisted by Donna (those are her hands by the way).

There have been lots of posts doing the rounds and pretty much everyone is saying the same thing "fantastic weekend bring on next year" and I for one can't wait.

Melbourne and Sew It Together

What a weekend! It was absolutely fantastic and so jam packed I think I'll have to break it in to a couple of posts. First up was Friday. I don't have any photos but I met up with this wonderful blogger and it was wonderful to finally meet her.

These pretty much sum up the rest of the day.

The day ended with a few (too many) drinks at Nikki's studio and meeting some old friends and new.

Proud Mum Moment

Indulge me for a moment please....

Last week Charlotte was Student of the Week and then last night I was ready the newsletter and under Junior Artist of the Week I see my big girls' name. I won't be there on Friday for assembly, I'll be here but her dad will be there to clap loudly when she goes up to collect her certificate. Here she is with her torn paper portrait taken hastily this morning

Well done Charlotte

Sew it Together

Not long now until Sew It Together. I'm pretty excited not only will I be getting to meet and catch up with some great bloggers but I get a couple of kid-free days as well.

Here's a sneak peek of a little Thank You gift I have put together for my Sample Swappers.

Also go over here and check out this swap, it's quite similar to the sample one and looks like a lot of fun.

Mathildas Market

As I'm no longer a stall holder at Mathildas I popped in yesterday to have a leisurely peruse.

I managed to pick up this lovey top for Lucy on sale. It's made by Ivy Designs.

Sorry about the photo my computer is playing up and I'm just glad I've finally been able to upload.

Of course I couldn't go home without something for Charlotte so I picked up this bracelet from Melei which Charlotte is in love with.

Swap Goodies

I finished my items for the Sew It Together sample swap I organised. As I only needed to make 6 things I decided to do a bag. I love them all and hope the other swappers love them too.

Not long until Sew It Together so I need make myself a new bag and get some things cut out to take. I'm using a pattern from Fat Quarterly to make a quilt. For those that have the mag I'm making the hex panel but using them for a quilt instead.

And a big thanks to this lovely lady who kindly sent me a camera she had upgraded from. I'm still getting the hang of it so excuse the photos. I can't wait to finally meet her when I am in Melbourne.
