First Day of Summer!!

It was beautiful yesterday - the first official day of Summer - so we had fun in the sun!! I was finally able to pull out the swimming pool I bought when it was last hot - like a month ago, and they had lots of fun, even though Quincy has strep throat.

Caught WHITE Handed!

Isaac had found the powdered sugar the other day and decided it would be fun to "make" something. A couple weeks ago I let them play in left over flour - apparently they thought this was ok to use and do again.

Normally I would automatically raise my voice and say "What are you doing?!" But I withheld and decided to make a memory out of the mess. :o)

As soon as I came around the corner, the smile on Quincy's face as she looks up from the pile of sugar she is standing in quickly disappears. She hurriedly steps off and say "Isaac did it." HAH! While I know FULL WELL Isaac instigated the mess, I know she wasn't just going to sit back and let him have all the fun! (photo taken 6/16/08 8:11am)

Hiking at Squak Mountain State Park

We FINALLY had a Saturday where neither of us were busy or had things we really needed to get done, so we (I) decided to go for a hike. Not knowing what Squak Mountain State Park had to offer, we decided to check it out. This is a GREAT hike for amateurs. They have these neat little stories along the way for kids. It's not too strenuous - pretty easy going hike. This was Quincy and Isaac's first time hiking so it was JUST what we were looking for!

Before we left and we were getting our hiking shoes on, Quincy told us she wanted to buy sparkly Ariel hiking shoes, but she was content with her pink "hiking" backpack. She thought that we were actually going camping and started gathering toys and books - we had to tell her like 4 times we were only going hiking and we would be back shortly - so cute.

Isaac didn't really know what we were doing or where we were going, but he was excited non the less. And once AGAIN, Isaac fell and hit his head in the SAME spot he always does
Isaac ended up being the first to poop out and want to be done. Quincy on the other hand could have gone on for miles, she was so prepared with her snacks and water in her backpack, she LOVED it!

Jason and I enjoyed the hike as well. I had lots of fun taking pictures of beautiful wild flowers along the way (even though Jason thought I was pretty silly). All in all, it was a GREAT day and we all had fun.

Quincy REALLY wants to go camping now!!
