Looking on the brighter side

It's been a long week. I am feeling refreshed and a little older.
Here is an excruciatingly detailed breakdown of what had went down whiles I was home. If you are incredibly bored, please "enjoy" it. I owe about 5 days worth of posts, so here it is. I wrote it in the weird tense (present perfect? what is it?) that I write everything in for some stupid reason.

Wednesday-long, long drive back to buffasnow. Hang with the family. My brother jason has grown out his hair and sideburns for the Worlds' Largest Disco because that is what he always does. He looks like Wolverine. He and I drink many beers. Everyone eats pizza and wings, because that is what we always do.

Thursday- We sit down at a table packed with food, but there's "nothing for miki to eat." My niece has very particular tastes. My parents must have softened up considerably. That would not have flown in Chez Nowak in the 70s. We play Scotland Yard and visit with the neighbors who are very cool with cute cats and a dog and soon: a baby.

Friday- Drive around with Adam and look at comic shops. They all smell like sticky 16-year-old boy armpit. I go to the Salvation Army and buy a winter coat that rules and a pair of shoes that are better than anything I could have bought in the store. My cousin Dan drives down from Arkport and we all go together to a bar for Jay's birthday. We find out that Dan has a hamster living in his dashboard, Adam almost refuses to get in the car. We drink and divulge too much. We take a cab home, Dan and I take a long walk to look for more beer. We find it. We play drinking games. My moms dinner has given us all thunderous gas, which we all find hilarious.

Saturday-It's touch and go. I am not used to having more than three drinks at a time, and I drank about twice that the night before. I am not accustomed to being hungover, but I think I am ok. I sip water for a while until I feel right in the head. I watch Tremors with the fam, say goodbye to Dan and eat an egg sandwich. My sister and my niece and go shopping and I buy nothing but a medium fry and a diet coke. We have dinner with my family at Red Robin and my hangover finally hits me. My mom gives me the cutest sweater ever and I wear it to Alex and Jess's. Most of you were there, so i won't recap that part.;)

Sunday- Long, long drive home. I fall deeper in love with the Shins. I get home and watch Mythbusters for four hours. I fall deeper in love with Jamie Hyneman.

I finally feel a little like I've gotten some sleep. I bought a grown-up lady wallet for myself. I feel so mommish. Ok, we're all caught up.

Back to The Shins.

Some songs you should downlove and have earsex with toot sweet:

Lisa, Make Love! (It's ok!) by Oh No! Oh My!
Red Rabbits and Sleeping Lessons from the new Shins album
In fact, if you can find it just go ahead and downlove the whole damn thing.
Happy Birthday, Tenacious D(Hoffmann.) Are you reading this?
Goodleberg?

Want to watch a short film?
My friends made this one:
eighth down, called "The Grounds".
http://www.scifi.com/exposure/

"The Grounds" is loosely based on local legend. The Goodleberg Cemetery in Western New York is supposedly a very haunted place. It is filled with unmarked graves from children who died during a cholera epidemic. A few years ago there was a mysterious tragedy that remains unexplained today.

They made it to the semifinals-if they win, they get to pitch a show to the sci-fi channel, and I'm really excited for them. I haven't been able to watch it yet, but I am sure it's good. Voting is one click, and you need to enter your name and an email and your zip code, but it's in a pop-up window. Pretty easy-peasy. If you feel like it's worthy, give it a click.

------------

Not much going on with me. A friend of mine shot some headshots for me yesterday, and I think I got one or two good uns. (My face is weird,he did the best he could with what I gave him.)
The photography is great, the composition is nice and there are autumn leaves in the background, which is just what I wanted. I have a lot of issues with my face, namely the crap job I did on my hair and my make up is too orangey, but whatevs. It's in color, where there is no forgiveness. I also have some issues with my face that I need to work out in something like therapy. It's a temporary pic. I have a showcase next week and I need something more recent than 2003 to give them. I am saving up for some super expensivo headshots that are made of gold and have jet-packs on them.
I am only $1000 away!

Let's pretend I never had a ticket to this with Dave Foley, so that no one needs to know I forgot. I'm glad I didn't skip out on my show. I'd feel guiltier than it would be worth. It wasn't in the dam ass cards. (I wish I was there for this, though.) Thunder said it was going to be podcasted anyway, so I'll just watch it all tiny on the compunerd and NEVER MIND IT NEVER HAPPENED THERE WAS NO SHOW DAVE FOLEY DOES NOT EXIST COMEDY IS A MYTH.

I miss my camera so much. So much.
I can't wait for Christmas so much. So much.
I don't feel like eating today so much. So much.
I am happy for michelemo so much. So much!

You can watch me doing longform here. Once I saw myself on screen I shut it off. I just can't watch myself flopping around in front of the camera like a jackimo. That's normal, right? I'm sure it's great, though. You should watch it and enjoy.

You should also watch Nate the Great on pbs kids when it comes on the air to hear our friend Mo as Annie's little brother Harry. They haven't made it yet, but they are about to. It is going to be better than cupcakes.

It's so lovely out. The window next to the computer is open an it's nice and cool and breezy with some leafy rustling. It's perfect. I don't want to leave the Astoria tonight, but I have a show. So blahbleeblah.

Last night was thanksgiving at Rachel and Kristin's. Yummy turkey and wine and we laughed like a bunch of idiots and played mafia which got more and more fun as the evening progressed. It was really nice. And my friend Dan let me cram into his car to come home. I'm going to house my take home plate in about 30 seconds. first, enjoy this toidbit frm friday gtalking with mo:

I'm on the brinka brinka tears tout la temps.

I am a bundle of raw nerves, which is why I should never watch television, or look at any news websites, or watch youtube clips from sesame street, or look in the mirror, or interact with other human beings.

I'm "creative" and an "artist", we're expected to be "sensitive" and "emotionally damaged" and "very, very crazy". Meh.

What are you guys all voting about?

Ok! Ok! I'll do it! As soon as I can remember where the school cafeteria place is that I went to that last time. STOP ASKING, PLANET.
What I am liking

1. I decided the only good thing about summer is when improv boys do shows in their undershirts and jeans. I miss that.

2. All the President's Men. That movie was fucking great.

3. Did you ever have an errant hair on your finger, like one of those little blonde ones, so that when you prop your chin on your fist you end up breathing on it, so that it just barely skids across that soft skin between your knuckles? It makes it itch in a way that's like kind of oddly erotic.

4. It is weird-looking, but I'm going to keep my hair like this. I am really excited to try out this green barrette I bought.

5. Edy's whole fruit bars. Come on!

6. Watch Faith Hill when they announce teh winnar. If I am ever up for anything that I am probably going to lose I am going to so be like that. HUMILITY IS FOR CLOSERS.

04 November 2006

I don't want to talk about it.

I dyed my hair black and then my camera died.

Dead.

Dead.

I think I'm getting sick.

(I like the hair, though.)

Dead.

I'm a little overloaded

I'm a little crispy from too much going out this week too upload pics and such. I got a few good ones from Halloween. Here's a choice moment I wanted to blog about.

As we walked to the subway Halloween night with adam, amy, tracey [all in elaborate costumes] and Tracey's manfriend Jim [not in costume] some dudes passed by us and said to each other "Dude!!! That's Goldberg! That's really him!!"
And then Adam said to Jim, "Looks like your costume wins."
