I'm gonna chase that feeling.

Hello fellow blargers and blarg enthusiasts.
More currents.
drink: the rest of the blue moons
tv: The Science of Sleep, when I am done posting this.
eat: little pizza thing from panera
regret: arranging the bed so close to the window. Is cold!
sound: Tommy boy ("john hancock. Psssh. It's Herbie Hancock".) and some serious wind
feel: like I am figuring something out
need: to get organized
loving: funny people, scrabulous
trying: to make some more drastic changes
Tomorrow: go back to the old place and sort out junk, go to aeroporto, fly away
This weekend: chocolate, babytime, goofing around.
next week: more workouts, dinner with friends, one yoga date
try: being autonomous
I am grateful for: white noise, good music, deep sleeps on the best bed

I can't believe I only did 8 posts for bufblopofo. that is pathetic. I didn't even merit an exclamation point!
Here are currents, olde-school style:
drink: blue moon
eat: a burger from the Sarajevo place on the corner
regret: the Sarajevo burger I ate
pants: favorite gap capri sweats
tv: scrubs
movie: Becoming Jane, when I get around to it
sound: fan
feel: debbie downer
need: vacation, good laugh/cry
loving: the R train
trying: not to fuck things up, in general.
Tomorrow: work, work out (yes, no, YES) coachycoach
This weekend: Buffalo
next week: settle in
try: not to feel as big as a planet/act the fool
It'll be good to go home for a while. Cuddle a baby, stare at my parents, eat a chicken wing, be all me with my friendyfriends. Stuff and stuff.

Strange days are these
My friend had some cancer taken off of her back and that left a wound that for some crazy reason kept bleeding for 24 hours after her surgery. Amy and I went over last night and watched Into The Wild and took turns pressing on her cancerhole until about 3. It's not bleeding anymore, and it's not cancer anymore but it's still effed up.
Today I moved into a new apartment, so I live here now. So that's weird.

The real final assignment
BufBloPoFo Topic for Day 14: Link to whatever you posted exactly one year ago (or whatever’s closest), and give your readers an update on that topic. If you haven’t been writing for a year, give us a list of three or four things that are going on in your life right now that you’ll want to update one year from now at the end of BufBloPoFo09.
Last year on this day, I started shooting for Improv School. Since then, the channel has changed direction, focusing more on "urban comedy". Since the cast was all white and nerdy, the many, many hours we shot will never be seen by anyone, ever. Also, I dated one of the camera men from that show for a while after we finished shooting, which was nice.
A few days after I posted about it, I posted the The Greatest Picture Ever Taken of Anything. Which is, a schnauzer getting a tubby tub.
I hope I did well on the bufblopofo like a qualified mofo. I screwed up a few times because I work and socialize and do showy shows. Also, I've never been much of an over achiever. Or an achiever in much of any sense. I have enjoyed reading everyone blogs the past two weeks. I like all of you very very much, and though we may not be blogging diligently every day for a project, maybe we can keep it up a little bit. You are all very sweet, and very interesting and you keep me company. I'd like more of that, please.

BufBloPoFo! The Final Countdown!
The almost final assignment: what tv are we looking forward to?
I am looking forward to new The Office/30 Rock. I always love Ghost Hunters. Sadly, I haven't gotten into anything else, really. I have watched Lost in pieces, and Celebrity Rehab. Mostly when I get in front of the tv it is Saturday during the day, when I'll watch anything at all, or between 10:30-midnight, when I'll watchWhatever is on Food network or Fox (the two channels I get in my bedroom) So, Good eats, Ace of cakes, Scrubs, or Iron Chef. Also, I will say, 10 items or less is kind of cute and funny in a silly way. I am just saying.
That's a lotta t and v for someone who claims to not watch too much t and v.
Alex- I will netflix Madmen asap.
In other news, I am moving tomorrow, into a smaller place. It is one block from the movie theater and the museum of the moving image, and there is a huge back yard. I am not allowed to get a puppy, but I think I might get a pretend puppy who will enjoy the yard more than I probably will. It's an adventure!

I missed another day! oh well. Excuses don't get the jorb done.
Today's assignment was to tell you guys stuff you don't know about me. I don't know what you know about me and what you don't! Luckily, I like talk about myself.
Here is a random sampling of the first things I thought of:
I love naps
I always wished I could play the cello
I really do love working out
The sexiest outfit a man can wear is a white undershirt and jeans.
I am pretty sure I have ADD.
Buying diet pills and signing up for online dating sites are two things i do in moments of extreme weakness that i always regret.
I really, really love word games.
I love watching cooking shows, but I am way too tense to cook for other people.
I can't listen to music before bed because I get too excited.

6. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Come on in! It's full of puppies!

Ok, so I couldn't do it for 14 days. I just couldn't! Sunday I shot a pilot for this, which was fun and fun, then I had a show at night. Then last night I had rehearsal and I ended up going out until latelatelate.
So, I call two places "home", but I am going to do this assignment for just buffalo.
Here are some of my most recent favorite Buffalo places and things.
mighty taco
Founding Fathers
alex and jess's house
Hockey
Canadian TV (curling!)
The New Phoenix Theater
Louie's hot dogs (burnt with mustard)
The Towne
beef on weck
Allentown
The regal on elmwood
the big mall
the little mall
Delaware Park
The craft fair
Letchworth State Park
Spot Coffee
New World Records
So many of these are food related. I had a hometown, but I eated it.

sorry I missed yesterday. Am I the first casualty? I didn't get home until 2ish, and I was drinkysleepy. Eddie Izzard was at the bar, though. That was exciting! then he left.
Here are some things I have found while packing for the move:
The invite to Jessica Gadra's wedding shower
10+ lip glosses
expired medicine
poetry? Poetry.
a letter some girl wrote to my ex before he moved down here. Why do I have it?
bus schedules!
programs to plays I went to in high school
Ridiculous. I am very upset about moving. I love this place. I am going to miss it. I am going to miss living with family who love me. I also hate moving.
Bufblopofo!
I haven't been listening to anything new, but here is what I am listening to now:
broken social scene, radiohead, the pixies, the beatles, a romancey mix I made for a boy that I never gave him, Tangerine dream (!?), the Rushmore soundtrack, and The Santa Marias.
Whee! I hate Vampire Weekend.

cricket, cricket.
Tonight the theater sent me and another girl out on a gig for a charity for a women's global health thinger for women's day or whatever. It was a thing at a bar. they all boil down to "a thing at a bar". This is how the evening went.
"So, you ladies are going to be up last. The ladies and gents are going to tell some stories about women who have inspired us , and you're just going to riff on the stories for ten minutes. It'll be great."
Female genital mutilation! Sex workers in Nigeria! Aids! Aids! AIDS!!!!!!!!!!!
"And now our actresses are going to do a little something . . . . "
It was fine enough. I love women and helping global women and also their health. I shouldn't be flip. It's so hard for me to be wackywacktown when people are all sincere. I am so worried about offending people. Everyone seemed to like it, and they were all so nice. It was a thing at a bar, and nobody died.
bufblopofo:
I have my friend Anthony's headphones in my bag right now. Ljavascript:void(0)ast night at the bar, he put them in my bag for some reason, and they are still there. he is a DJ, so they are super huge, really nice headphones, which is probably why he put them in my bag. I have to get them back to him tomorrow. Fascinating!

I don't have any idea what people ought to be doing better, so for today, I will talk about something else entirely.
Three of my fave moments in television.
1. When Oz and Willow are in the van, and willow watches Xander leave with cordeilia, she turns to Oz, who she knows likes her and says "wanna make out?" and Oz knows why and it's not good enough for him.
Oz : "Sometimes, when I’m sitting in class—you know, I’m not thinking about class, ’cause that would never happen—I think about kissing you. And, it’s like everything stops. It’s like, it’s like...freeze frame. Willow kissage. (pauses) Oh, I’m not gonna kiss you."
But not till it's right. And willow looks at him like "that is better than anything I could think of".
Pretty perfect.
2. Angela chase figures out that _____ wrote the ____. And she's like "____" but he just says, "you liked it though, right?" Oh man. And she drives away with ______, but you know she comes back to "____". (spoiler space, for those who may be enjoying MSCL for the first time.)
3. I'll come up with this when I am less drunk. Love is great! I assume!

BufBloPoFo day 4: Who would play me in a movie?
In my dreams, Holly Marie Combs.
In reality, probably an impossibly sexy 'Night Mother era Kathy Bates.

What went right today?
We can start with what went wrong and then round up? Today was a little rough physically. The last symptom I am still feeling is that my head feels way too heavy for my body, which is and odd sensation. Also, Mo's cat is very sick, and I am very sad for her. Poor Boo Radley. Poor Mo. I am thinking about you kitten, and cat.
I can't really complain though, here at the end of the day. I made it through work, it was the first of the month when I have a lot of crap I do and I think I did it all mostly right. We'll see tomorrow. Also, I recorded with Fancy Dragon for a new animated series, which went stupidly, ridonkulously well. I can't wait! And my head cleared during the hour and a half we did that. I think performing is good for whatever ails you. Then, I took the train home with Michael Hartney, which is a little ray of sunshine on a crowded train. I also put the down payment on my new apartment and finally paid my Target bill. All in all, a good start to the week.
I am glad this was the topic today. I need to remind myself every once in a while that I do have it good. So a boy I like will never like me back, or my waist isn't as slim as I'd like it. I have it good! I have a job, and a creative outlet, and a roof over my head. Two, in fact. I have friends and fun, more than I probably deserve. Oh blog, bless my heart!

day two!
I am doing pretty well, eh?
Before I blog today, I have to mention the three big stressors I have been going through, namely the flu which caused me to miss 4 1/2 days of work and most of my life for a week, stand by jury duty, (which strangely skipped me? does that happen?) and I am moving for the first time in 3 years. I really don't have that much stuff, but I do have to somehow get it all to a smaller place or a storage locker in a few short days. It'll be fine, I just need this fluness to leave my body already. It feels worse than mono. I was cleaning off my bookshelf and I felt my legs just give up. Yes, I am as sick of being sick as you are of hearing about it, so from now on I will do nothing but go to bed early and drink juice.
So anyway, for the bufblopofo, I have to talk about the best gift I've ever gotten. I've gotten a lot of really nice, thoughtful gifts throughout my life. I am very lucky and grateful for how generous my friends and family have been. One of my faves was an 8x10 of the power shot picture of me jeff and rachel as we came down Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh. Kristen, ryan, Rachel and Jeff gave me that for my birthday in 2006. It was my favorite picture of my favorite day, and It meant a lot to me to have it to hang on my wall and look at it often. I look at it on days like today when I feel really mopey and out of it and really far away from all of my friends and the good things in life. I look at it and I remember the bluest sky, my friends encouraging me up a hill I thought I couldn't climb, and eating fish and chips at every meal, and also I don't look too terribly fat in it.

OK! Here I go.
I think I have gone through the origin story of this blog before, but I'll do it again for the BufBloPoFo crowd.
Basically, back in 2000 (before you started, DHKA, sorry to say. you were most definitely NOT first), I had discovered the internet as a way to avoid working at work. I had 2 jobs at the time (The BPO and The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell) and I was kind of miserable and I was also obsessed with The Kids in the Hall. That led me to alt.tv.kids-in-hall, where I met a bunch of fun gals from around the world who were similarly obsessed but also really cool and interesting people. Tavie and sarah were I think the first homepages I noticed, and they had blogs that I started following outside of the newsgroup. Then I started my own, linking just to the other Kith people and reading each other's blogs we realized we had a lot more in common than just our love of canadian comedy (and funny boys). I linked to one of jess's pictures, and that's how she found it. and then I was in shock and awe! and acceptance.
I read a lot of good blogs now where people are actually funny and interesting and talk about things outside of themselves and I wish I had started with that idea, but I had always just written about my little boring corner of the world and doing something different seemed like it would be dishonest. So now I just write about whatever. Usually: being sick, stuff I buy or awesome songs. I keep it now to keep in touch with Buffalo friends, or to post pictures, but I am not super huge into sharing it with the world or using it as a marketing tool because it does not sell me well at all. I don't know. I like the boring bits of life. I hope I am spelling bufblopofo right.
