As I took a break from doing stats, I went onto facebook. I scrolled down and watched the Miss Singapore video which was quite funny but I shall not comment on that. As I continued to scroll, I saw yet another friend posting up Sam and Esther's story. It was then that I remembered I have not watched the follow-up. The video took us back to Uganda where Sam and Esther are doing much better now that they are receiving support from many people.

The Change
"It was truly amazing to see them in person...to see them smiling, to see them being held and loved and responding to the attention". (narrator in the video)

Many people may watch the video and realize how fortunate they are as compared to those children. but snap! within the next few minutes or couple of days, everything learnt from the video is thrown away. People continue to live lives like before. What changes have they made? Often we forget about being thankful everyday for the abundance of blessings the Lord has showered upon us. It reminded me that giving thanks daily is a conscious effort. It is not a one time attempt to make a difference, it is a constant effort to influence a change.

Person to person, moment to moment, as we love, we change the world

Love cannot thrive on compromise. Love cannot survive with a divided heart and mind. Love doesn't work this way. Love demands absolute, undivided devotion - nothing more, nothing less. In that case, is love selfish and demanding? Doesn't it seem as if love is rather self-centered to demand absolute attention? I should not think so. Love operates in a strange manner. While it demands absolute devotion, it doesn't bask in this for its own sake. Instead, love takes the devotion given, crafts it into something more beautiful and returns it as a gift to the one who first gave. Love always seeks the betterment of the other, but the slightest hint of betrayal can unravel everything.

Service

Have to serve...nono
Choosing to serve....no as well
Wanting to serve....well almost there
Dying to serve...absolutely!

I miss the times of serving in multimedia...
Such a struggle to be a wanderer. the pain that i go through...no one will understand. the lack of spiritual food and love are demoralizing...especially when i need them the most.
I seem to behave in ways I shouldn't be. Negativity empowers me more than positivity. Anger burns more easily. Self-control, love, patience and tolerance towards others are diminishing in my life. How long can I last?
