The class lists came out for the Elementary today and Tyler got MRS. EDGEL! My first grade teacher was Mrs. Edgel (yes it is the same lady), I loved her and I was really pulling for him to get her too! I LOVED LOVED LOVED Mrs. Edgel and I am so excited.
On a similar note...yesterday Tyler read the whole Green Eggs and Ham book to me. I was so proud of him. He did a really good job of reading it to me. Later on the 5:00 news they did a story that mentioned that only 8% of kindergarteners this time of year can read at a grade level. I might have got a little misty eyed when I reflected that just hours earlier Tyler read an entire book to me. I know that I was a little skeptical of Mrs. Spriggs at the beginning of the year, but I really grew to like her throughout the school year, and now that I see all that Tyler has accomplished and how smart he is, I am really truly greatful for all the time and effort that she has put in. I am really glad that she was his teacher, she did a great job.

I Can Do IT!!!
I've been a little nervous lately. I told my sister Susie that I was going to run the 5K in Henefer on the 4th of July this year. Then she wanted to run it with me. Then she told our sister Erica that we were going to do it. And Erica wanted to run it with us. And then she posted it on her blog and a few of our cousins commented that they wanted to do it with us.
WELL...I was running on my treadmill and doing pretty good, but I was only going 2.25 miles which isn't enough for a 5k, and it wasn't outside where there are hills and stuff. So one day I was running and my boys came in and suggested that we all go on a walk and that I get off of my treadmill. So we did and I packed everyone up in the stroller and I put the dog on the leash and off we went. But I really couldn't run outside. I tried it, it was really hard. Long story short, I was pretty sure that I was never going to make it to my 5K on the 4th of July.
So yesterday I got up really early 5:20 am and I got dressed and went outside for a run...all by myself. No stroller, No dog, and No 6 year old bike rider. I thought I would just run as far as I could and when I got too tired I would call Shane to come and get me. So I ran and ran and ran and I went all the way out to the bridge (roughly 2.2 miles) and then I turned around and kept on running and I made it all the way back to Wally's house which I am thinking is about another mile and a half, it might be a little less than that. If any of you are familiar with the area there is a humongous hill after Wally's house and that is why I quit at that point. But I didn't even call Shane to come and get me! I power walked up the hill and then the rest of the way home is down hill so it was easy and I made it! I did my 5K! I was so proud of myself and my confidence has been restored! So I am announcing that I WILL be in Henefer on the 4th of July running my guts out and hopefully having a pretty good time doing it.

Bring on the Pictures
Here is Tyler's new smile! Just before he left for school today I pulled his tooth. He didn't want me to do it but I told him that I just wanted to see if I could see under it and it came right out. It didn't even bleed, he didn't cry, he just said "Oh, I guess that it must have been ready to come out today after all." And then a few minutes later he said to me "Oh mom, I am just so proud of myself." He had perma-grin for the whole five minutes that it was out before he left for school. He also insisted that he take the tooth with him to school so that he could show his teacher, because she has a little tooth necklace that she gives out that will hold the tooth. (I'm just hoping that he doesn't lose the tooth while he is at school.) As a side note, I'm not really the type of person that is worried that my babies are growing up too fast or stuff like that, but I may have gotten a little misty eyed when I pulled the tooth and saw him smiling at me so proud. He just looked so big.
Here he is with his tooth in his hand.
Four Generations on Mother's Day. It was just supposed to be just the girls, but we won't get me started on how this picture was supposed to be taken and how it actually was taken.
